  • I was a member of this tour. All footage shot, recorded, and edited by myself, with permission and knowledge of Mark Lanegan. Mark is a stellar and unique talent and I strongly suggest you buy all his records! The new one, Blues Funeral is breathtaking.
The line up: Mark Lanegan (vocalist), Mike Johnson (guitar), Ben Shepherd (bass), Mark Bokvist (drums), Marc Olsen (guitar).
Back story: I went on tour with about 8 days notice. Bought a video camera, got a passport, arranged my air and hotel. Never been to Europe before. I read the video manual on the airplane. There was no opportunity to review any material until my return. Days later we headed out on the West Coast tour, but my video camera broke the night before, and I shot the West coast on a borrowed 8mm camera. All a wonderful and life altering adventure. Most of the footage is visually stunning, and most of it trashed audio. Mostly I was at close quarters onstage, and that maxed out my microphone. Heartbreaking, so I never looked at much of it. Until recently. Last year I was about to erase it all, but had second thoughts. So I captured it all. The whole burden of preservation and the TH-cam copyright bullshit was distasteful. 13 years later, through encouragement of a few friends and a recent green light from Mark via Mike Johnson, well, here it is. I discovered a few bits are not so bad. And here they are. If this accomplishes any support for these artists, I am happy. Nowadays my focus is on photography, fewer issues of copyright and corporate claims, and all that bullshit. I do not make any money off any of this so I say fuck that. Enjoy these extraordinary artists. And buy the music. Artists need to have the real job of making music.

The power of TH-cam. Unbelievable! Thanks so much for posting. I was one of maybe 40/50 people there. I remember they didn't even open the circles. AND tonight I'm off to see him again!

Man, this video saved my... weekend, at least.
The beauty of being young and and dirty and bruised and beaten by life.
It all comes back now, and seems that it was worth it.
A million thanks to you, Sir(s)!

Thanks for not erasing it famousunknown, that would have been such a tragic loss.
Yep I support artists, I try to get vinyl but there's not enough, another tragedy. I do not down load from itunes, fckn corporates who give a small pittance back to the artists. I mostly try to buy from the artists websites or the independent neighbourhood record shop. Artists have to pay bills like the rest of us.
All you scabby arse bastards stop making itunes rich, go see your favourite or buy real music!
