- In this video we aim to find out just how much different the tracking and turning abilities of different missiles are in Grand theft auto Online, since most of the time we test this kind of stuff out in the wild, the testing environment that I come up with allows us to see just how different the capabilities of missiles are in a controlled environment!

It’s funny how the land vehicles seem to have better homing missiles than actual military aircrafts.
Yea but I guess it's a balance thing, air combat wouldn't be as fun if all aircraft had super accurate missiles.

1) Oppressor Mark 2
2) Access to the overworld jobs
3) It's by far the fastest MK2 ammo vehicle that you can load in and out of. It takes like 1/10th the time to get into it over an MoC.

So when it comes to this specific test, the pattern I've picked up is: the closer to a perfect triangle the rockets make, the better they are at tracking.
also the sharper they turn.

I’ve fired missiles at npc’s with the vigilante while too close, so they end up doing rings around the npc before killing them. Imagine being that npc and the last seconds of your life you’re having a missile run rings around you just as a taunt for how good they are.

I forgot to include the deluxo in the vid, Just add that to the list of mistakes that i make when making vids :L hopefully it shouldn't be too much an issue since the best tracking missiles in the game (Which the deluxo has IIRC) are very consistent in terms of their tracking/turn speed compared to each other as seen in the video.

I will say I think the reason the Strombeg's missiles have a better reputation than some is the upward firing angle. The firing angle makes a lot of difference out in the wild. The Vigilante shoves missiles forward, at which point they rise on a delay which can cause all kinds of problems (against ground and air targets), where the Ruiner and Stromberg missiles do this "upward launch" thing which makes them better at both air targets, and coming down on ground targets. The missile isn't any different, just the initial launch angle.

Ruiner missiles are the best. I've had a few miraculous dodges vs MKII missiles in my Hunter (God knows I've had enough fired at me). I've never dodged a Ruiner missile in the Hunter. Though to be fair I just stay above it.

I didn't even know that tracking was different. I primarily played on 360 and only have leveled up 20ish levels on one. God this game always has something new to it. A few days ago I learned that pressing left and right on the dpad went 5ish contacts up or down. (In the contact menu of the phone.)

All vehicles should have given Buzzard missiles IMO, their tracking was good enough for PvE and in PvE those were used more as a tool to force your enemy into evasive maneouvers.
Im cool with the Savage having 1 second reload time and slightly longer range because how slow and clunky it is
There also seems to be differences in how easily they lose the lock- deluxo missiles always do a 180 and stay locked on if they miss but Stromberg's don't.

This test is imperfect as the movements of the targets are random. The only reason why you'd want random targets is to eliminate human error through knowing the next locations, but since the missiles are auto this is unnecessary. The randomness might actually give results contrasting what you'd expect as a 180 degree turn can actually be less steep and move through less degrees/sec than a 90 degree turn as you're reversing velocity rather than increasing vertical and decreasing horizontal simultaneously which is more efficient. This means that a missile with amazing tracking at 180 degrees will look less effective than a mediocre missile at 90 degrees. Make it a set sequence so you can compare directly as some random results don't match what you'd expect, and there's no need to eliminate human error.

Perhaps just non-lock ons, unsure though as that would place the explosive canons of it as higher up the tier which, yes are less useful against air targets but still do considerable damage against ground targets

Just purchase a stromberg. Needs 6 missiles to get blown up. Plus if u track the oppressor with it missiles it will hit 90% off the time.
Reason being for you to get up close is that the Stromberg’s locking range was nerfed.
It's always been 150 meters instead of the usual 300 meters
When I first read this I thought "why would rockstar do this?" Then I realized that they need more people to get the mk2 and buy more shark cards to get it
Double A4755 yea, but the stromberg is one of the best counters to the oppressor mk1-2. I use it all the time if needed to defeat a mk1-2. And they pay about $20k each time it’s destroyed lol

A mk2 missile is oppresser mk2, sromgberg, is if it missed it won't come back but it's good at tracking. Mk3 missile is on batmobill, scramjet, deloxo. it turns back if it missed, it will come back till it dies it's a little more accurate than mk2. Oppresser mk1.5 has slightly bader tracking than oppresser mk2 and again if it missed it won't come back.
When choosing best missle vehicle you also have to consider does slow turning speed really affect the effectivity - hydra and buzzard have one of better implementation of missles, tho they are not fast-turning, and for example Chernobog has best missles, but sadly you wont be using it when fighting peoples

To be fair with the buzzard, it was a vanilla vehicle, so it probably got the exact same homing rockets as the handheld one. Also, they haven't updated vanilla content in the past several years or so; so that's unlikely to ever change. But it goes without saying that the oppressor rockets are ridiculous.. I mean, against players, they're on par for NPCs, which can shoot SMG's from a moving vehicle, while somehow aiming them like stationary trained snipers.
Oh my god why did they make the oppressor Mk II missiles so powerful. They were so brazen about the fact that they were selling a broken griefing machine to shark-card-buying children.
I have yet to face an Oppressor that has successfully evaded a barrage from my Chernobog

Me and my friend have three names for the different types of homing rockets. Shit Rockets, God Rockets and Demon Rockets.
From our years of playing the game together, we concluded there are only two vehicles in the game that have Demon Rockets. The Oppressor M-II and the Vigilante.
But the deluxo has 10 times better missles
@@sirgrizzlypfote6369 the deluxo, scramjet, stromberg, and vigilante all have the exact same missle tracking and speed. Only slightly beat by the ruiner 2000. The opmk2 has less accurate missle but a slightly longer range than most of the vehicles in that group.
If u want to know quick it's the ruiner, deluxo, and stromberg with the most agile missiles

Homing Rocket is the worst in the game hands down. Partly because it's the only missile that doesn't get an instant lock. They BADLY need a Homing Rocket MK2 where you can upgrade it to anti-air only Tracking+ Missiles.

exoprogamer a skilled heli pilot can dodge the crappy homing launcher. Also ur right, It doesn’t need a mk2. I don’t wanna make helicopters even more inferior than they already r with all these flying vehicles. Helicopters have always been meant for air to ground mostly. Sometimes can even bring down jets because basically all aircraft missiles r easy to dodge, just gotta watch out for those specialized vehicles

Those are the best ones because they make 360° movements. Stromberg rockets and MKII Opressor rockets NEVER DO THAT they make 180° NEEVER EVER 360° For me thats the BIG difference between the Stromberg MKII missiles what i call hybrid rockets not bad but not best.They hit often a air target but the vigilantie deluxo scrampjet and ruiner 2000 NEVER miss a target in the air. We don't need to talk about the other missiles at all.
Idk why people are STILL complaining about the Opressor MK2, like its balanced now imo, you can easily get picked off by people on the ground with just ARs and it can no longer be spammed in MC Menu due to cooldown. To players like me who use it alot for grinding and stuff, the missiles and the utility of the Oppressor MK2 are very useful

could be a lock on distance issue, some weaponzied vehicles have different lock on ranges.

The Ruiner 2000 is the only vehicle capable of rapidly spamming missiles while boasting the best tracking accuracy among all missile types.
According to two of my mates the oppressor MKII has the same missiles as ruiner 2000 and it’s in the files
Something to note, though, the A10 jet missles can actually hit a flying straight Thruster, unlike the Mark 2 Oppressor. Tried it with a friend. His Mark 2 couldn't hit me once but one misske from the A10 wrecked me.

The akulas missiles whenever you’re pursuing a moving ground vehicle always 9 times out of 10 hit the road behind them and can’t seem to straighten out and hit the target.

The people that play on free aim, I feel your pain. I thought assisted aim was bad, but the wannabe tryhards in free aim are the most cancerous players I ever come across. Like holy crap, I just join a random free aim lobby to see if there were players needed help with there supplys. But then all of a sudden I get a boundy put on me and almost got mugged. I went to confront them but they went ghost org (not surprised) and came after me with flying broomsticks with motors (aka oppressor mk ll), now I know how free aim players have to go through.
@@mcloathin3354 danm is it that bad now. That assist aim tryhards are moving to free aim. Just to get kills on lower levels and destroying people supplies. And creator mode tp doesn't work anymore. So sadly I wont be able to help other players sell there cargo.

Alright then, but what about when you're peacefully driving around, and as you pass by someone standing on the pavement, they suddenly spray you to death for no reason, whether you're in full aim or assisted aim lobbies?

By nane alone, in most games I've played and real life, a missile is more for tracking a target and a rocket is just to go somewhere and blow up
I like the savage bc it has explosive cannons and homing missiles, it’s really a underrated helicopter
