  • Central Arkansas Shooters Association’s 8 stage level one: The Hill Billy Classic. I was able to take the high overall win.
    I shot this match a little too aggressively and dropped a lot of points but it was a good chance to push the envelope in a higher stress match and see how it turned out.
    As always CASA puts on an incredible match!

    Dude your movement is so smooth and target transitions are goals! I just started (4 matches under my belt) but this gives me so much inspiration… any tips on dry fire transition drills or footwork drills?

    • @MetalMike55
      @MetalMike55  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The thing that got me started on the right path was Steve Anderson’s “Refinement and Repetition”.
      For movement I tried to watch people like JJ Racaza and Christian sailer and emulate their movements and find what tweaks made it work best for me. Dry firing movements it’s best to break things down into individual movements and build those into the subconscious and then just copy and paste into stage plans that you see it will fit best in.

    Trying to get Into comp but not sure where to start any tips? Also what gun are u using?

      Most if not all clubs will use PractiScore for sign ups and scheduling matches. Go to PractiScore, then Matches and you will be able to search for matches around your location and filter for specific sports like IDPA and USPSA. Thats the first step for finding clubs.
      As far as gear goes you will need a holster that retains the gun, a way to carry magazines, 3-5 magazines depending on your mag capacity (stages are usually not more than 32 rounds), approximately 200 rounds of ammo per match, eye and ear protection, and obviously a belt to carry it all. I was shooting a shadow 2 in this video and whatever pistol you have will be perfectly fine.
      Sign up for limited if you’re shooting irons, carry optics if shooting a dot. When you get to a match just ask who is the match director or who are the typical safety officers and let them know it is your first match and I’m positive they will walk you through safety rules and put you with a squad that can help guide you through the match.

    Where can i get that ammo? Its like no recoil to you. Do you reload?

      @MetalMike55  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do reload, but it’s all in the grip technique and experience.

    Anyways, good shooting, keep developing your index, you’ll be unstoppable.

      @@robedwards6926 I had never had light strikes on pistol primers with the 11.5 but it wouldn’t run rifle primers. Then after about 3k Winchester small pistol primers with no issues I had two back to back at a Major and with primer quality and brand availability I decided to not chance it any more and went to the 13. Now I’ve ran a decent amount of rifle primers with no light strikes.
