omg my heart just pours out to you guys, I am half japanese and to see this whole situation being taken care by the wonderful staff at Disney, really warms my heart. Currently my school is holding three fundraisers for everyone in Japan, and i am so glad to be a part of it. I hope you guys recover and heal, and bless those workers who were so kind and calm through out the whole thing.
This shows the absolute best of Japanese society. Everyone was so respectful and kind. I've heard so many amazing stories about Disney Sea after the earthquake....free food, toys, opening up the hotels...and many of my american friends just say "did they get refunds?"...I love that Japanese people don't think like that and are able to see the bigger picture.
You know, people make fun of the announcer's voices sounding so calm and almost emotionless, but you know what? The voices sounding calm and collected probably helped keep some people calmer than they would've been otherwise. Crowds of panicking people trampling each other is not very conducive to survival.
I'm also glad that everyone fine and i pray for the ones who didn't make it out alive . I live here in California and yes we feel your greff and we sure saw what a huge wave can do and affect a lot of people . Be strong out there and take one day at a time thing will get better if you put in the effort in putting the peaces together.
Another reason I think the Japanese are such an awesome people..they were calm and respectful in one of the worst disasters in modern history..Its why I respect them so much..
thanks for posting this. Man those Cms were very nice handing out the Teddy Bears, I do wnder whAT people thought when They realized that they were stuck at Disneyland
Every Disney park has friendly staff, even the American parks. It's what Disney is known for. To judge a park by the country it's in is ignorant. Disney is an AMERICAN company.
I heard the staffs not only let customers use the shops as shelters, they also gave away all the goods for free. The heart-warming part is that they were not trained to give out goods in such emergency situations, and they did not bother to ask for consent from the managers. Incredible conduct.
Rashaun James Hey you don't know that ONLY Tokyo Disney Resort is promoted by Japanese company (oriental land). Other Disney Resorts like China, France, etc... are promoted by American company.
@mjpureevil possibly an apology for making them stay and to keep them calm over there since the cast members are asking if they want a Duffy (or other things) for free. I guess it's a good thing that there was a an earthquake and that it wasn't effective to harm people but just enough to see what would happen in that situation.
If this was in Disneyland park in Ca USA after a massive earthquake people would be trampling each other, looting the merchandise & food, and screaming. Japan is much more organized, and the people are respectful and calm. (especially when it comes to going through natural disaster such as earthquakes and tsunamis)
Basic instincts come up within humans and those trained master these instints. Those that do not have this training, discipline and orderly respect act like babarians and savages. It's disgusting to see.
Guarantee that none of the visitors to Disneyland that day could have anticipated they'd be huddling outdoors, grateful to have a plastic bag or piece of cardboard for protection, before they were able to leave.
