Thanks Taylor. What do you think about combining Wedding Content Creation with Wedding Photography? I've been experimenting with this recently and it's been both a ton of fun and the couples have been delighted to receive some kind of video-ish content within 24-48 hours of their big day alongside their photography sneak-peaks
I think if you have couples willing to pay and you enjoy - go for it! :)
Wait you said you dont shoot in log? Isn't this a must for quality footage?
Depends what your needs are. If you're trying to get absolute maximum dynamic range, log is probably the way to go, but I've needed it. Log also allows you to colour your work a lot more specifically. I'm happy just adding a LUT to a neutral profile
Only lunatics shoot log for highlight films, and the truly deranged among us shoot RAW because I don’t want to think about white balance all day.
Safe yourself the grief of 1tb wedding footage days, take 14 seconds to adjust your video settings for proper WB and exposure. You will be a happier human and your couples will be too
@@timmuza appreciate the insight. you guys are pros and if it works for you I guess it can work for me too!!!
@@propixelsmedia I’m the lunatic who shoots raw & log for my wedding days. You do you boo. There is no wrong way to your workflow.
So I should start off doing vertical video to make reels then change to landscape when I do full videos? That’s the only thing that confuses me. I shoot in 1080 so I can’t really crop in vertical in post which means vertical filming.
I wish more cameras would open gate so you could get both. I think vertical for reels is better for marketing overall. So if I was just trying to build portfolio at weddings I'm already at, I'd do a 30 or 45 second video and then also some horizontal clips to make a promo reel for your work.
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto smart plan. Thanks!
Hover Cat was my Favourite :) Great advice! The whole “correct” cinematography and videography thing has kept me from doing and offering hybrid coverage - But you’ve broken it down nicely and it now seems achievable :)
