How can i use the live control on multiple different zones? Like I want to switch colors or dim effects over 4 lasers.

You can contrl every zone as being its own fixture. Then in GM you can do for example a color cycle. I believe this is covered in the video.

As i can see here only FB3 controllers are used, is that correct? And also why the switch is used as the computer can be connected directly to the grandMA?

This specific setup uses the FB3 profile to operate. FB3 is a USB based device and require a PC to operate. THis can only be done over ethernet. FB4 can directly be controlled over ethernet.

You can also use QuickShow, however then you are limited to the 16 channel profile. Only BEYOND has advanced DMX server features.
