This is the 1st time I've heard Marlene, and wow, her final "somehow" blew me away!! Vernie Varga has always been great. Regine is just a baby here but her usual stratospheric flairs are already very present.

Wow, I remember Marlene as a superstar in Japan in the 80s beating Madonna and Michael Jackson records. She lorded the billboards, magazines, television and even acted on movies. The Japanese simply adored her.

Not trying to rain your parade pero yung beating Madonna and MJ in Japan during the 80's was too much. Yes Marlene had a great career in Japan first two albums nya nag chart and nag multiplatinum but never nyang natanalo ang King and Queen of Pop na may million copies na nabentang albums at nakapuno ng sangkaterbang stadiums in Japan kahit pa nung 80's.
But Marlene was a successful Jazz singer in Japan in the 80's walang duda dun. 🙂

Both Vernie's and Marlene's voices have more vocal weight and power in the low to mid registers than Regine's soft and light mids, kaya medyo lubog si Regine sa kanilang dalawa in the beginning, where the songs they sang ay di gaanong matataas. But it's in the super high belted notes that Regine's voice really shines through and shows its power and glory. Kaya nakabawi si Songbird sa huli 🥰

@@richiesol20 You have to take English 101 seriously. Regine's last note was supported and free. Listen to it closely and you would hear a ringing sound(resonance).
@@JK-si8xz cite my errors then, her sound is free there but that doesn't mean that she has resonance. Go back when you know what resonance is. Regine doesn't have that.
Marlene has way better vowel enunciation than her. Regine's vowels are a joke 🤣

Meanwhile, Vernie Varga was a leading ballad chanteuse in her prime. She could charm the whole audience with her sexy and bubbly personality. I've watched her lounge acts in big 5-star hotels and she was amazing.🤩🎶❤️

In fact, he was the reason why Russell Watson a British Opera singer asked Regine to record a duet with him on his album, a Musical Theatre song from Martine Guerre called "Live with somebody you love." Russell Watson had previously worked with Lea Salonga and obviously has worked with McKintosh through Miss Saigon, yet it was Regine who got asked.
It is Regine who has turned down these offers to sing on Broadway. Could you blame her? Imagine singing the same song over and over 2x a day for 6 days a week, and you;re not allowed to adlib or change it around. It would be way too easy for her and she would get so bored. She said herself she would go crazy.
