  • A beautiful and poisonous ornamental plant ...
    Scientific name: Dieffenbachia hybrids
Daphnbachia is a brads or a hybrid of Daphnbachia
    It is native to: Brazil
It is a genus of tropical plants that belongs to the family of the Pharynx (Familly: Aracea).
Daphnbachia is a favorite houseplant due to the beauty of its leaves and its tolerance of growing in the shade.
The plant was named by the Austrian botanist Heinrich Wilhelm Schott, who was the director of the Vienna Botanical Gardens, with this name in honor of the park's chief employee, Joseph Dvenbach.
Dieffenbachia is one of the home ornamental plants that is frequently used in offices, homes and building entrances. It is grown for the beauty of its leaves, which are distinguished by their large size as they are distinguished by the beauty of its leaves and its length of up to two meters, and it is evergreen.
The Diefenbachia plant has been known by several names, namely, Akhras chocolate and elephant's ear or mute cane
The name "dumb cane" is due to the toxic juice that causes painful swelling in the mouth and throat, as well as a loss of voice if ingested. Keep it away from pets who may play with or chew this plant. It can also cause skin irritation, so we recommend that you wear gloves while handling this plant.
This attractive and popular houseplant features a single thick stem that splits into several stems as it grows.
It blooms in the summer and its blossom color is white.
Its broad, intermediate leaves are about 25 cm long spotted or spotted green and white.
    Varieties of Diefenbachia
There are several types of Diefenbachia, the most important of which are:
    Diefenbachia PDTA D. Picta
    Diffenbachia D. Camiili
    Diefenbachia D. Marianne
    Diefenbachia sees D. Veerie
    Diffenbachia D. Amoena, Tropicsnow
    Diffenbachia versicolor
Many varieties of the Diefenbachia plant are available with a variety of leaf patterns. Choose one based on your preference because all of them are easy to grow.
Camille is shrunken, up to 38 cm long and has yellow-green leaves in dark green color with white central veins, while leaves decorated with yellow-green, dark green veins with white central veins.
    Diffenbachia problems
Any problems with Diefenbachia will appear in its leaves.
Old leaves may turn yellow and fall off. This is normal. If new leaves fall, the plant is too cold. Keep them away from entryways or windows where they can be exposed to cold air.
Structure edges of the leaf as a result of sporadic waterings. It should be irrigated regularly, but do not allow the soil to become muddy. Curly, wavy leaves can also indicate a lot of fertilizer. Wash the soil with clean water to get rid of any accumulated fertilizers. Wait a month before fertilizing again.
If this plant does not get enough light, the leaves may lose their color. Give the plant a moderate light to the point of bright light, but not direct sunlight, while the burnt leaves (in the form of dry brown spots) are caused by strong direct sunlight.
Pruning tip: prune your Diefenbachia plant if it's too tall. Use scissors to cut off the top of the plant, leaving few leaves. A new growth will grow from where it was cut off.
Change the stories in spring or early summer as the plants grow larger.
Always use a container with drainage holes to prevent muddy soil from forming.
Although this plant is native to the rain forests of South America, it tolerates average room humidity very well and is easy to grow.
    Diffenbachia care tips
Maximum height: 30 cm - 1.8 m, modern hybrid varieties are more shrinkable and do not exceed 30-60 cm
Light: bright light, but no direct sunlight. Give the plant a quarter turn every few days to expose all sides to (indirect) sunlight, which will encourage growth.
Water: Water well with water and let the soil dry out a little between waterings. The dropping of the leaves of the Diefenbachia plant indicates that they are very dry. Water the water regularly with hot water at room temperature and use stories with drainage holes so that the roots do not remain in the water.
Humidity: Try to maintain 40% RH or higher. The indoor air can get very dry in the winter.
Temperature: normal room temperatures of 18-24 ° C throughout the year.
Soil: a mixture of peat moss with perlite.
Fertilizer: Fertilize in spring through summer every two weeks with a liquid or water-soluble fertilizer diluted in half. While you need to fertilize in the fall and winter monthly.
    Its multiplication:
It multiplies by cuttings, as well as by offspring or offshoots that grow from shoots along the main stem, and shoots are planted with water only until the roots are formed and then transferred to the pot, and the root growth takes a period ranging from twenty days to a month, which decreases or increases according to the degree of care.
Diffenbachia can be propagated easily by removing one of the small growths (stems) that grows around the stem of the mother plant and planting it in a sui
