The interiors of the original Intercity HSTs were strangely way better back in the 70s than almost any of the interiors between then and just a few years ago.

NSW Trains still operate a locally adapted version to this day, built by Comeng in 1982, using the Paxman 10 cylinder motor.
The NSW XPT is now with the VP185
Both Paxman `Valenta' & Paxman `VP185' are V12 turbo Diesel engines and drive a Brush alternator.
