2 litre flat-6 ripped from a Porsche 911 was common at that time. If you were lucky/rich, you could go for a bigger/turbocharged, depending on the class you were racing in.
Not sure about ccm, but it was 4 cylinder VW aircooled with selfmade overheadcams and turbo
