Your hands should either be attached to your legs or should be overlapping on one another as alladin's "GIN". Reason fins are enough to propel your body under water, you should not hold your breath it may injure your lungs so continous breathing is compulsory. Performing any stroke that you may have learned in the swimming pool is prohibited in scuba dive because it may lead to over exertion. You must relax, stay calm and enjoy the beautiful sight while just kicking the legs slowly by continously breathing through a regulator. When you tread on the surface that time you are supposed to perform free style, breast stroke, butterfly etc.
