I m not a SF player but i watch it alot. so by my analysis why Akuma have low health in this game ? bcz other shotos or chracters are very good then him so why dont capcom fix this issue with Akuma or why Akuma players ar'nt demanding it ?
Akuma has low health but compensates by having high damage output. Daigo uses Akuma more patiently than other Akuma's and is notorious for not having the best combo game so his Akuma does not do as much damage. If you enjoy watching SF, I recommend watch Punk playing Akuma in the CEO finals and you'll understand why he has low health.
On top of good damage, Akuma has great neutral and pressure options as well. He's pretty much the whole package excluding his health. His design philosophy is basically "You get to have everything you would need to win and it's all very good but if you get hit once..."
