Brian need help I have mozzafiato the front face of it cloudy I tried a food based cleaner worked a little what do you recommend to get that mirror finish back when you look straight at machine thanks.
Hi BP, Thanks for the question. I get best results from regular ammonia based glass cleaners like Windex. For stubborn stains (unlikely on the face of a machine) you can try wiping with a Cafiza solution. Cafiza is typically used for backflushing but does a great job on coffee crud/oils in drip trays, etc. Beyond that, you could try a chrome cleaning agent - but I've never had to go there.
So if we have the IMS precision baskets with the nanotech coating, we should NOT soak it in the Cafiza bath? We should just get some of the Cafiza bath water on the basket and wipe it off with a cloth, correct?
HI JJ, As mentioned in the video it's best to think of the nanotech baskets as you would a non-stick cooking pan. The coating is resilient but abrasive action will wear down the coating faster. Short exposure to Cafiza is fine and should not cause abnormal wear but avoid extended soaking.
I have been using my machine for a year, only ever rinsed out the filter n basket, today the double filter stopped passing coffee, is this due to not cleaning it? I have the pressure cups, the single still passes coffee. and how does one clean the machine itself? I have done nothing but add water to the machine and made coffee for the past year... 1st machine and experience with one...
The filter basket only has a tiny hole on bottom, it does not pass water when rinsed... so been concerned with cleaning since and was afraid to soak in soap as thought would be trapped between the layers,, again nothing has been cleaned since purchase as not covered in the manual.. guess they expected me to know this...
Hey c, What make/model machine do you have. Honestly surprised the pressurized basket still worked with a year of no maintenance! Surprised to hear there was no maintenance info in the manual. I've used 100's of machines over the past decade and never run into a manual without maintenance info.
You can try a cleaner like Cafiza which will loosen/dissolve coffee oils: www.wholelattelove.com/products/urnex-cafiza-espresso-machine-cleaner?variant=14409596141627 If you can get it to pass water after a soak the water running through will rinse out remaining cleaner.
Hi SK, yes. Limit contact time to only what is needed for cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaning tools on Nanotech items. Should be treated like non-stick cookware.
Just a side note, if you have sensitive skin or have a paper cut on your finger(s), you might want to wear glove while doing this. Don’t ask how I know.
WARNING!!! What ever you do, Don’t! use this stuff on a alloy parts, this is basically caustic soda. and by the way, caustic soda is cheaper to buy. Also, wear gloves.
For the strainer basket, I can never get the blockage out of the hole and saw a TickTock where you hold it in a blue flame and it burns off. It's great but not sure I would use on an expensive or coatd basket.
Me the entire video: UNSCREW THE HANDLE MAN!!! 🤯
That's why I love Whole Latte Love!
Do you love them a latte?
I brush my teeth with Cafizza. Coffee stains gone!
hahaha
Can I use the same technique to remove coffee oil from my tooth's?
Thank you!!
Hey Nancy, you're welcome!
Thanks bro 👍👍
Welcome 👍

Is it safe to use this on nano-quart coated baskets for IMS baskets and showers

The place I started working at literally NEVER cleaned this. When I opened the basket it was BLACK. Ill have to see how to get that cleaned
oh my!!! In a busy cafe filter baskets and PF should be cleaned daily!
Where did you buy that brush?
The awesome Urnex Scoopz Brush is available here: www.wholelattelove.com/products/urnex-scoopz-espresso-brush

Hey TL, Thanks! Good tip to avoid the sting!
Hot water will take chrome out of the porta filter bro

Hi s, Have not tried cleaning with fire - Cafiza gets the job done with no burns and for the average home user a bottle lasts about a year.
