Pomegranate wow so deep it's like blood...like nah is this all the Vampire Diaries posters with Elena holding a pomegranate. I loved hearing your artistic process and tbh it looks highkey dope and now I am upset they have a FKN FRUIT. THAT CLOTHBOUND IDEA THOOOO UFFFFFF.

Both of them are pretty af, but I'm straight up obsessed with the first one.
Also, I think the problem is that covers have gotten so much better and gone a different directions since Twilight. The cover for midnight sun isn't modern or "new" but it fits PERFECTLY with the og books. The level of nostalgia I get is exact and I can't stop talking it up lol because it was perfect. Not new, not revolutionary, but it fit the exact way that the apple did. Forbidden fruit meant to condemn. It was just so genius.

I quite like the midnight sun cover I think has a pomegranate in it because pomegranate because but in Ancient Greece its was symbol life and death but in Christianity it’s a symbol of eternal life

Stephenie Meyer knows she'll sell a lot of this book, even with a bad title and probably equally as bad writing because of nostalgia's sake.
I was one of those girls in middle school who had posters of the characters on my wall, and had a huge crush on Jacob, but I'm 26 now and won't go anywhere near Midnight Sun, it feels like a cash grab. That being said, if it had YOUR cover I might actually consider it because that's beautiful! I seriously feel like you should be paid to make book covers.

Listen I'm not one to spend money on special edition books, however I would absolutely spend $50 on that special edition cover with no hesitation. I love it 😍
I feel like since it's called *midnight* sun you could bullshit some kinda metaphor for the cover being a moon. I think it works actually pretty well.
Ohhhhh, I love the idea of the first one! I like pomegranates, but that original design looks... let's say we probably all share your opinion. That 'waterstone' edition looks also really pretty, it's amazing how much work you put into that design! :D

Originally I absolutely loved the cover, I thought it was so neat. But this has completely changed my mind! Lol you are so right it doesn’t look well thought out at all. I like the symbolism of the pomegranate (that’s to a tumblr post of course lol) but your second cover is absolutely gorgeous. Also, as a note on your point at the end, I completely agree. My friend and I have talked at lengths about it on our podcast, my cohost is quite knowledgeable about TRUE Native American history/beliefs and they share a few resources from people that are truly Native American, if you’re interested at all! I would bet a lot of money that smeyer doesn’t mention/make up literal lies in Midnight Sun. Thank you for sharing your beautiful talent with the world 💕 (also going to google now if she has ever apologized for her depiction of Native Americans)

No shade to the original cover designer, but I too would like a chat with them... :/ Your new covers are beautiful! I'm a graphic designer (not specifically a cover designer, although I do love designing covers) and I just wanted to say, you make cover designing look so easy :) I'm normally going round and round for hours before I create anything I'm even remotely proud of!
I actually love the original cover. I like that it looks almost dark and moody. Love the Pomegranate. Love that it's not obvious. The name was everything. And that they stuck with the all black and one image concept. It was part of the series but almost rotten. If they keep going I hope they all have that tainted rotten feel.

I have always wanted to redesign some of my favorite books, but I don't have photoshop. Can you redesign The Hunger Games Trilogy, maybe you have already done those and I did not see it.
I definitely dont get the Hades and Persephone thing, and they are REALLY trying to push this with the pomegranate design, and I think it looks...not so good.
