Thank you so much! I’d love to but I used a Pinterest reference for that one so I can’t use that idea, because it’s someone else’s. I did that illustration for practice (and because it’s uber cute 🥰 ofc).
I just realised this was not the sketchbook with the duck with a plant on its head! I do have a plan to make all the birds from birbfest into stickers and maybe into a zine! I’m glad you liked it 🙂
Thank you for showing the sketchbook . It is great. Now I want to join drawingisfree too. I like the birds and the barbies and especially the portraits and will definitely follow you :)
I’m so glad you liked it and that you enjoyed the birds and other things. I hope you like other videos (I’ve shared a fair number of sketchbook tours and lots of materials testing too). Welcome Ann! 😊
I really enjoy sketchbook tours and you speak english just fine, don't worry! I admire you to make videos speaking :D so be proud about yourself! And I didn't knew the Drawing is free, going to check it :) thank you!
ooh I've been really tempted to try this seawhite sketchbook! I love square formats, although intimidated by the sheer amount of pages omg. Would you say the paper behaves similarly to how the art creations pages behave with wet media?
I now prefer art creations paper if I’m honest. Seawhite stock soaks in any media so it feels a bit weird if that makes sense. As with anything you can use that to your advantage but I prefer art creations. For the price it is, it’s probably worth a try! And the number of pages - I found it intimidating at first but then realised that it just meant I could “waste” pages because there were so many more that I could experiment more freely in it. Thank you for your comment!
@@WeirdIsTheBest ohh thanks so much for such a detailed answer! I've been shopping around for a new sketchbook, I usually use Pink Pigs which are great for mixed media but wanted to try something not spiral bound, but I'm sad the art creations ones don't come in a bigger square. I'm just being very picky about it haha. Thank you!
Art creations make small square ones 12x12 and larger landscape or portrait ones, if that helps. Some sizes are harder to find than others. I can see that London graphic centre (if you’re in the UK) has the square ones with bright white paper, but you can also check Jackson’s and cass art or Amazon.
@Finchwing I like the bigger squares too, but recently switched to the smallest Art Creations and absolutely love it! It helps with going through the sketchbook a little faster. It’s really fun ☺️ I hope you find a larger square sketchbook!
Thanks so much for your kind comment! I haven’t seen Sandi’s birds yet, no. I keep hearing their name so I’ll try and remember to check them out. Thank you for the recommendation.
Hi 🌷 Very nice sketchbook tour, thank you for sharing! My fav pages are the ones with colorful backgrounds and lot of drawings/doodles on it 💘 Also the small pen studies of landscapes, really lovely! I bought a glass dip pen, but don't really use it because i kinda forget about it? I like the feeling of drawing with it though. It's like drawing with fountain pen, i like it but always forget to use them 🤷♀️ Thank you for the sketchbook tour 💖
Hi Stephanie! Thank you for another lovely comment. I really enjoyed the doodle pages a well. I highly recommend trying. You can check out Sophie McPike who’s a real master of this technique for more inspiration too. I tend to forget my glass pens most of the time but also because I’m yet to find a sketchbook in which all of my inks work nicely. I do use my favourite fountain pen a lot though! It’s twsbi go in medium nib and I’m planning to get one with a broad nib soon too. It’s so smooth to draw or write with. Enjoy your day ☺️
@@WeirdIsTheBest thank you for your answer! My fountain pens are cheap ones (less than 10€, but until now they work well) except for a lamy safari which is my favorite because it is a medium size nib and it's smooooth 😊 I do know Sophie, in fact i think TH-cam showed up your videos on my feed 'cause we watch the same artists (well, a lot of them at least, as i hear you mentioned them in your videos, just like Katie Moody, Monkey Mintaka...). I think we even are both patreons of her? Which is lovely, sometimes the algorithm does actually work 😁 Have a nice evening!
@StephaniePessoaArt ahh that makes sense! I’m a patron of Sophie and Katie. 😀 I have a Lamy too, it’s ok but I much prefer a twsbi. I also have a second hand Parker fountain pen with changeable nibs and it’s got that cheap plastic feel to it but I also love it! Sometimes cheap supplies are best as you can be less precious about them and enjoy them more 🙂
The duck page would make a really great sticker!! They look so in love ❤

Oh, thank you! That’s really nice to hear. Drawing is free it’s amazing and I’ve learnt so much from these sessions. I hope you like them also ☺️
Love it!!!
Yay! That’s nice. I also made part one if you’re interested in seeing the earlier drawings☺️

@@WeirdIsTheBestyeaahh exactly, their only squares are so teenie :'( I have their 12x12 square already, it's nice but my favourite is 20x20!

Thank you for this. I learned some new things today. Have you seen Sandi Hester’s birds. They are amazing too.
