I think there was a very interesting and honest interview and it just shows that him, Lecrae and the rest of Reach Records haven't loss their faith and always have been real and honest. Even if folks don't like it
Gotta be honest, that interview challenged me a little bit. As with all things from man, I’ll pray and go to the Bible and test what he was saying. I’d like to think that I am not racist, but I’m sure I’ve crossed the line before. More than that, I know I’m guilty of overlooking how things affect other people and being insensitive to their position. It’s easier to fake perfection when you’re comfortable. Make me uncomfortable, Lord, and let YOUR perfection radiate out from me.
As a black man, your comment brought a little healing to me; thanks for even caring bro! I need God's perfection to work in my life as well when I'm hurt by others
I am Hispanic and have grown up in socal where gangs were around me and I can say I made a lot of mistakes and still do a believer but I dont understand how people say how could you vote for Donald Trump if u r Christian. Our other option was to have hilary come in and take more rights from believers. Voting for trump wasn't being racist. So stop that.
If you don’t believe that your race is superior to others than your not racist. If you treat all people as individuals, as human beings with God given unique souls that are more fundamental to our identity than our biology your not racist.
"I'll my heroes are frauds just like me." We all mess us but we gotta have the humility to recognize and bring it to Jesus. I love hearing Andy's spirit.
We can be honest and question our lack of understanding to God but make no mistake God's truth is all we have to lean on. God is control and is not caught off guard and we can not lean on our own understanding. Love Andy's music and pray God will continue to stretch him. One Love!
Props for Andy Mineo, demonstrating that he had to navigate His faith. I Spent some time deconstructing my faith and God was really faithful to bring me back to Himself. God's 'hassed' love is so good and pure.
"Don't believe what you believe just 'cause that's how they raised you" - NF , question your faith and find out the answers on why you should follow Jesus and not any "other way to heaven"
Thats true, but I think its also a misconception that most christian are christian because they were raised that way. The majority of Christians I know at least, had no Christian upbringing. Its actually a great mercy and blessing to be raised with Truth, not a burden. I think to many people overlook that. I think problem is that if you raised with Christian teaching you can tend to become lazy and not look into and study the bible, and become comfortable with just knowing the basics and never diving deeper. Where as someone who comes into the faith wants to know everything about it and has a hunger to learn.
@@TheArtistJ777 But what is The Truth? In a simple word, it's knowledge that is confirmed by GOD through trials, & tribulation that we go through. Everything from the beginning of time. GOD has a reason, a purpose for every little thing that happens here on earth. From the ants, to the Most Important things of Life that we can think of. It's all GODS Plan!! 1LOVE, 1GOD, Respect
Crae and Mineo really opened up to y'all in these interviews. I'm so glad to hear this perspective from the two top dogs in the game, especially on race, politics and questioning your beliefs. Salute.
This is one of the reasons why Andy is by far one of my fav rappers of all time. The man has lyrical flow for day and when it come to faith he keep it 100 and lets other know they are not alone. There has only been one person who has walked this earth to have lived a perfect life and if you could show me another I can show you a liar. My relationship with God has only grown threw questioning things and finding the right answer in the bible. Sure I have fallen and feel like there is little to know hope but by taking action on faith I have gotten threw the dark times closer to God. Faith without action is just a good intention and well all know about good intentions.
Nothing but respect for Mineo but he said it himself. He wants to bring his fans outside of this space because he has a positive message but what the Good message for the Word Of God. Too many “Christian” artists flip the script soon as they get a little lime light and sadly it happens to the majority of the Reach artists
So refreshing to see Andy's growth in the way he conducts himself in interviews. Sidenote: reading down the comments,it's clear some people missed a lot of what Andy said and placed their focus on his political views, which he's entitled to...Judging by what's being said,he's not off IMO
The crazy part is that he didn't espouse any political views. He simply made a comment about how some political views affected him. The state of the American church in politics is depressing.
Some of these comments are ignorant. People are on here mad about his "politics" even though he didn't even state his "political position" (as if that is actually significant). You should be more concerned with loving your brother than getting mad at unknown political opinions. This type of thing burns me up. Andy genuinely talked about the faith and how it operates in a sphere that you do not live in. You all didn't hear that though. I wonder why.....It's sad.
He does in his freestyles and music at times, he mentioned that 76% of the people that voted for trump are white, that’s insignificant to anything, if you want to help race relations don’t invoke race on either side, I love Andy and I’m fully supportive of his music even though I disagree with much of his politics, and I hear you too man, there are more important things than political positions, however if he wants me to feel bad for voting for trump, or because I’m skeptical of mainstream media, I can’t help but mention why. That’s not sad that’s just conversation. Andy mineo is still a top 3 artist for me.
@@lifewasgiventous1614 it would actually depend upon the context in which he mentioned the percentage of voters that were white that voted for Trump that will determine whether or not it's significant. Here's the thing, the reason why that could be significant is that people are trying to understand who voted for Trump and why did they do so. For that, I actually recommend the book "Believe Me: The Evangelical Road to Donald Trump". I think people who voted for Trump think that when people criticize him it's for strictly political reasons when in reality he goes way beyond that. I disagree with the premise that not talking about race will help improve race relations. the reason why that is false is that that is the same reasoning that the church during the civil Rights era, the Jim Crow era, and segregation era used when Martin Luther King and other civil rights activists wanted to change the system. MLK and others were told that they were being disruptive and that they should be quiet and accept the things the way they were. History has obviously proven them wrong. The thing that some in the Evangelical Church don't realize is that their opposition to certain social issues or political issues stems from a history of fundamentalism being polarized against secular humanism. Social justice became known as the enemy because of a political fight not because it was quote unquote unbiblical. The point isn't to make people feel bad for voting for Donald Trump. The point is to try to understand why.
Brian Glaze I don’t think much of his critics keep it political, it’s largely about his rhetoric, it’s never really about his policy other than the wall, which then still deludes into him being a racist somehow. I do Love MLK though some of my favorite quotes are from him, however I don’t think the current paradigm is similar, there were literal laws on the books, and wide and abroad racism, that to many people is a bygone generation, I would argue much of the hysteria we see today is to be laid at the feet of the media, there are clear and easily distinguishable events where there bias reporting and bloviating of complex issues has lead to false ideas about the other sides intentions. Thanks for the book recommendations, I looked at the overview of it and a bit of the authors work, it reads out loud as “wanting to know why white evangelical Christians voted for trump” he concludes that it was out of fear and in hopes that they will maintain there privileged positions. No disrespect but It sounds from the overview something I’ve heard a million times, I don’t need to read a book to find out why I voted for the president, and I don’t mean for that to come off in the wrong way, it’s just I don’t want to hear someone else tell me what I think, and tell me the reasons why I do what I do, as if I’m not a sentient person. The foreshadowing sounds a little shaky, “why did white people vote for trump, it sounds as if it already presupposes this as a bad or uncommon thing that needs explaining, has there been any books out explaining why black people( or white people for that matter) voted for Obama? Or any other president for that matter?
@@lifewasgiventous1614 That is part of my point. A lot of us have a major problem with his rhetoric and actions but it seems that some think that "countering" (which doesn't work) with what he has done (or is trying to do) policy wise will cause people to love him. That would never work for me. Probably one of the faulty assumptions there is that everyone agrees on what is "good policy". The current paradigm is indeed different. Racism is not legal. It is not the Law. Unfortunately, changing the law does not change the heart. Jesus had a long talk with the Pharisees about that. I don't believe things are just like the way they were but to say that everything is all peachy now is a big mistake. I don’t think you are saying that but I have heard enough from many others that suggest that America is perfect now and that people who look like me have nothing to "complain" about. I could say a lot about that last statement but one of the biggest things I will point out about it is that it proves that those people aren't listening to what people who look like me have to say. I will say that there are clear and easily distinguishable events racism, prejudice, implicit bias, and social injustices are actually happening as well. Are some media outlets using that to generate business (and sometimes falsely)? Yes. That doesn't take away from the real (not rare or uncommon) circumstances that are affecting people negatively everyday. I will also say that it has worked both ways. I've seen media use storylines and such for fear-mongering against so called "SJWs" and people "attacking traditional/conservative values" as well. We have to critically think for ourselves. "he concludes that it was out of fear and in hopes that they will maintain their privileged positions". I don't think that is the best depiction of the book but it kind of gets at one of the central points. John Fea, the author, is actually a historian. This book is a historical/political/cultural analysis of how evangelicals have engaged in politics over time and how that relates to the why 81% of (proclaimed) evangelicals voted for Trump. It is not simply about about how "the bad white people voted for Trump" (which I know you aren't saying that but I know someone would probably take it that way). He doesn't tell you specifically why you voted for Trump. He breaks down how evangelicals fundamentalists, etc throughout history have engaged in the political sphere and how that influences how today. In my opinion he clearly identifies and articulates some very real points of fear that I've seen a lot of evangelical political leaders have played on to secure political engagement from their followers. Even this little description I just gave doesn't do the book justice. I wouldn't want you to read this book, thinking that this person was trying to tell you why you voted. As far as I know (which isn't enough for this answer), there isn't a book on why black people voted for President Obama (as far as I know), but I think a part of the reason why this book about Trump came out is because this is an unprecedented situation. He was a very unlikely candidate to win this election.
I would really love an Andy tour of just the album cuts, not the concert jumping hits. The Arrow and Sword EP, Uncomfortable, all that. That’s the most valuable pieces of Andy’s catalogue that a lot of “11Six fans” miss out on.
This was so great! I love Andy's music and how vulnerable he is willing to be. The song Shame brings tear to my eyes whenever I hear it. If that song isn't shining Jesus's light I don't know what is.
This dude has gone from being just a protege of Lecrae and opening for him to coheadlining an amazing tour. He held his own. Plus Andy’s just super super dope. He can rap his ass off but he knows how to make music that can touch people. One of my top 10 favorite rappers for sure
Huge fan of Andy’s and the reach team. However one thing I couldn’t help notice was that he stated ‘introducing people to the music’ and right after stating ‘people supporting the mission’.. I know we as people have a tendency for assumptions, so I recognize that and want to be cautious in what I say. On that note I will say that ‘if’ the mission is to introduce people to music and not Christ who is the substance of our hope. Then we’ve lost sight of Matthew 28:18-20. Praying Reach mission is the latter, and not the former assumption.
Introducing people to the music IS an introduction to Christ! Nobody is going to get saved and discipled by listening to a song... We all serve different parts of the body. Music is theirs
Pushing the envelope by jumping out of boxes ppl have built around us! God didn't do that! Don't forget that Jesus Walked the Earth my dudes lol. He was for ALL ppl. Ready to see these projects Mineo! LETS GO!
Andy, Andy...I heard alot about God. Nowadays most artist speak such but we are Christian because of Jesus Christ. There should be No racism if we claim as much nor division. But clearly some still divide the 2. Speak the name of Jesus! Please...even for my son's sake. Much love bro.
Casting all your cares upon him for he cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:7 Casting "all" includes: doubt, fears, questions, etc. The bible also talks about bearing one another burdens. The church is supposed to be open with one another so that issues may be resolved. If their is no openness, their is no deliverance. The first step to change is realizing you need it. That leads to repentance (change.)
Some of us are getting disappointed when someone like Andy has a rough year and fall short. I'll admit I was disappointed in Andy a few times and I thought his last couple of albums were a bit watered down compared to his first couple of albums. I actually get upset with myself when I let other Christians let me down because I have a rule .. ALWAYS put your faith in JESUS first! Don't project you're faith onto imperfect people .. don't put you're faith in Andy Mineo .. Don't put you're faith in the church .. Don't put you're faith in you're pastor .. ALL of those people have the capability to let you down. JESUS will never let you down .. stop putting your faith in Christian artists. I only listen to the Christian musicians when their music is bold for Christ .. when they put out albums that are all fluff and no substance I just don't listen. I am by no means perfect .. I'm just another sinner saved by grace but I been around a bit .. I'm 43 .. I been listening to Christian hip hop since before the days of the gospel ganstas. I can't speak for everyone but I wanna see that gospel fire on the mic again. Everybody got that 116 tattoo .. but a tattoo doesn't mean jack if you're not livin it. I love Andy .. I love his honesty .. I hope he grows even closer to Jesus as he walks out his faith. I hope now that all the self reflection is out of the way we can get back to the great commission. Peace.
Brother, GOD has shown me that everything has a time & place. That's the way He created it all, for a Reason & to happen at an appointed time. We are in The Times of Noah. The things that GOD is doing, on Earth in these days, haven't been done since those days.
I’m really disappointed by his politics. I get it if you have a problem with Trump but to assume people’s motivations are racist because they voted against the corrupted opposition, that shows your ideology. Letting the media determine your worldview is foolish. He goes on about “figuring it all out” but takes a hard position on things he is obviously uninformed about. I am still a fan and embrace him as a brother in Christ, just disappointed how biased he is.
One of the promises he made while on the campaign trail was to build a wall to keep the filthy, criminal, good for nothing thieving brown people out of this country and then he’d make them pay for it ( I threw in my words in there btw).
I feel the same im not so pro trump that im not blind to who he is or may be but to look at the opposite platform and think their policies were better or more "pro black" is lunacy at its finest
The problem that alot of us had was CHH seemed to be the only title that bothers them. When they came up and build their following then built it on Romans 1:16 which talks about not being ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Obviously it was a slow grind, but they kept pushing and eventually started to break through to the mainstream. Then all of a sudden we started to hear them say, " I don't want to be boxed in, I'm not a Christian rapper I'm a rapper that's Christian. Alot of places wouldn't let us in because they think our music has only 1 topic and that's Jesus." It caught us by surprise and next thing you know they are working with artists that don't rap about Jesus. And the more they pushed away from the title CHH the bigger the artist became. Now I think its dope that they touch on current news and topics that can get uncomfortable and even personal battles that they have. Most of the original fans didn't like the Woke Lecrae, Andy and the whole Reach records crew, but I like that they gave their opinions because they are subjects that could shape how their fans view them. To sit there when you have a voice and ignore all the wickedness going on around us is detrimental to the ones that need to hear the truth about God and his mercy and grace and that He is the only one that can change a bad situation into something that He can get the glory for. After all the ways they were pushing the title away it felt like they started to be ashamed. Obviously they took and still take heat for that situation, but it all became clear when they started talking about their battles with their faith. We all fall short of the Glory of God and we have all struggled with doubt at some point in our walk with Christ, but you grow from it depending on how you handle it. To me that was a turning point because their content became more personal which opened alot of people's eyes and made them realize that just because they are rappers don't mean that they are perfect. Its impossible to be while we are in this flesh. God's mercy and grace kept them through those struggles. You can tell if a artist really believes by the emotions blood sweat and tears they went through to get to where they are now. Being in the spotlight they are in, its alot of pressure and there are times we buckle under pressure, but at the end of the day God is still God. And He is using their testimonies to reach people going through the same struggle and every other struggle that we have. I'll always support their music financially because there are people out there that need to hear about God especially in this wicked world we live in. People just have to understand that all the cch stuff came out of nowhere for most of us. We didn't all handle the situation good, but God is still God.
the early reach stuff was corny as heck, With lines like "Represent, get crunk! If you know you're reppin Jesus, go ahead and throw it up!" I'm glad they abandoned the cringe lyrics. The gospel isn't corny or cringey. what's corny and cringey was the style and method they used to convey the gospel. Even words like "christian hip hop or Christian rap" sound cringey. If anyone thinks reach pushing away these cringey titles or lyrics, was them going against/becoming ashamed of their faith, they are emotionally unintelligent and lack basic social awareness. Christians are already laughed at in the public square, you don't need to give them more reasons to laugh at us.
Dang, this is inspiring! Love what he said about doubting and faith, and especially that he doesn't shy away from confronting racism. As a Christian spoken word artist myself, I did a video on this called "Building Bridges" and I'd appreciate if you'd check it out from my channel! I hope you're blessed by it!
I love Andy’s music, most of his songs are an inspiration and keep me focused on my walk with Jesus. I wish he would avoid taking political stances; all this talk about institutional racism and victimhood, it distracts and divides and should be discussed in a different arena.
Yes there are social issues out there and need to be addressed but how do u work on it when people just want to focus on that and never move on. I have a testimony that most dont have and God allowed me to move past my mistakes. If all I did was focus on the bad and not try to better myself and let God work on me then I would still be there.
Here's the thing... Bringing mainstream artist to your music is one thing. Going onto their stuff is another. You're bringing your fans over to their platform. That's probably not the best place for a Christian to venture into, especially young impressionable ones. It's not an easy road to navigate. Not sure if it's worth the effort TBH.
I respect that your comment is committed to respecting and engaging with what he said rather than assume a bunch of stuff and make negatively critical comments. In response to your statement about "going onto their stuff". While I can see why some would worry about the influence, there are two things that make me look at it as a moot point: 1. I don't see a huge difference in who's platform it is. Are you saying that being on the other platform is inherently dangerous? 2. We should be building up believers who impact culture, not run away from it. Are we teaching our family to be afraid of the world?
ThePrattLP exactly man I’m glad that there are still people who understand the difference between influencing and being influenced and the impact of the audience.
@@BrianGlaze well my point is, if Andy fan has Kanye on his album he controls the whole situation, not just that individual song. Vice versa, journeying into someone else's work, Andy cannot control what his voice is being sandwiched between. It's got zero to do with being afraid of the world and more to do with controlling what you're willingly exposing yourself and others around you to. And think less about what you are capable of withstanding and take into account someone who's far less able to do the same. Music can be as destructive and distracting as drugs and sex. Let's not forget what Lucifer's job was in heaven. While the music Andy and company are putting out is supposed to God inspired and meant to uplift, there's a line that can be crossed to subvert that effort.
Andy Mineo is not responsible for someone else's musical choices, especially since he didn't say go check out his stuff. If we have a conviction about the music we listen to, this interview isn't going to change that.
4:44 "if I have learned about God through these people, and when bad things happen to minorities and these people don't respond then I have to question what I earned from these people" 💯 Only Jesus Christ can save us.
Andy is my favorite rapper out right now but I think he needs to do a little bit more research on his politics. Seems like Reach is taking more shots at Trump then the left without seeing what he has done for America so far.
The politics don't matter if we don't love and care for each other. Allegiance to a political party is a no go. We are the body of Christ. We don't operate like the world.
@@BrianGlaze agreed. You're definitely right. I just would like to see these guys support our president a little more than they let off, even though he can be a knucklehead at times. Trump has done a lot of awesome things for America believe it or not: economic growth, lower unemployment (specifically for African Americans), he fought planned parenthood a lot more aggressive than previous presidents, excellent foreign relations and diplomatic efforts, etc....I think the stuff they say can be ill advise or just as divisive when it comes to a political stand point sometimes. I haven't heard Andy or any of Reach acknowledge any of his positive work but just focuses on his negative issues, which are many to be fair but they don't affect his work. Whether Andy realizes it or not by mentioning the things he did in the interview it makes him political. Black lives matter and a lot of the SJW issues he mentioned are not biblical at all and can do damage to the Gospel if promoted, not saying these guys are capable of that or that's their motive. These guys are role models and it's safe to say they know this. I just believe it's important to have a biblical perspective on current issues than wrong ones and to be as objective as possible instead of allowing the left to automatically shape our views. And it's important to set an example to at least show some respect to our president.
Brian Glaze Exactly bro. I am always watching both sides and see so much more hatred from the left. Trump supporters are statistically attacked more than the anti trump supporters. Which is exactly why the left has to make up stories (Jussie Smollet) I consider myself to be in the middle but lean a little towards the right. I support Trump not because he’s white, but because all the good he’s doing for America. Yes Trump has said some bad things but who hasn’t. We just all need to get along and love each other. We are all God’s children.
@@brokechain4240 I agree that there is hatred on both sides but I wouldn't say Trump supporters are more "oppressed". Which statistic are you referring to? It would be interesting to study who conducted the research and what methods they use. From my angle I see just about equal malice thrown on both sides. They just do it a little differently. Regarding the Jussie Smollet situation, we actually don't know whats going on. He was just cleared of all charges. With that in mind, I am not comfortable with the generalization that the left always makes up stories. I would say the media in general ("conservative" or "liberal") will spin stories for their benefit. I wouldn't say he is doing "good for America" but for sure he has done some things that some people like. I wouldn't call it general good for everyone though. He has said more than "some bad" things. It has been pretty deplorable honestly. I don't even hate the guy, but he has definitely done some horrible things that I can't ignore. I repeat though, I don't hate him or even the people that vote for him but I am in no way supporting him a a person. I can definitely get along with you in the point that we need to love and get along with one another. That takes hard work that many aren't willing to engage in though. We have to actually get to know one another and live in each other's lives instead generalizing each other.
@@BrianGlaze Just going by what I see. I'm not saying Trump supporters are more oppressed, but simply saying that they are definitely assaulted very often. I agree there is hate on both sides. It will definetely take more than just knowing someone's political views to understand someone. I love you brother even if we disagree politically or in any other way.
I take KBs stance on Politics the song Rebel 88 is Epic! " Democratic or Republican God is none of them. You in love with your party but can you love folks regardless"?
Yo Andy, if you see this I do have a small question... I wouldn’t say that I’m a fundamentalist but I would say that my faith is the reason why I’m certain in what I believe. I guess I’m just looking for clarification because it hit me like you were saying that if you don’t have doubt you don’t have faith?
By my definition, faith is believing something you can’t prove. The Bible is filled with elements you simply can’t prove. As a result people doubt whether or not it certain elements are true. It’s natural. I think what Andy was trying to say is it’s impossible to truly have faith and believe in something that’s unprovable without also having doubts about the validity. That’s not to say that truth isn’t absolute and that you shouldn’t have certainty about certain elements. Certainty strengthens faith. But certainty doesn’t equate to faith. I hope that makes sense. God bless
Wheelz my issue with that perspective is founded on my certainty concerning the authenticity of scripture, and if God created the world out of nothing then surely everything else is a much smaller miracle
Even the greatest man born of a woman ‘John the Baptist’ doubted and was shown GRACE. If Jesus granted room for doubts as He did with Thomas also, I believe so should we. The important thing is that we ‘believers’ are turning to Christ with our doubts and not away from Him, as the disciples did after every parable, so as did Job through his sufferings. God bless.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is HUGE. And the heart of Christ is that NONE will perish and but that ALL will come to repentance. So when there’s avenues and opportunities to be relational, greater is He that is IN you than he who is in the world. Gods light will shine on people’s darkness, giving them a glimpse of Hope..God doesn’t call those who think they are righteous but calls those who know they are sinners.
I don’t know I feel like trump honestly has placed our country a lot closer to what God has in mind as a Christian nation. The only reason bad things or more prevalent is because when there is a light the darkness will always try to snuff it out. Andy I love your music bro I would in courage you to check out some of trumps policies he’s pushing and compare them to Gods word.
Grabbing women by the 🙀 has always been the kind nation God envisioned for us. Please don't respond to this comment unless you mention how Trump can continuously treat women like 💩 and still uphold Christian values
@@RobbDepp let's change the culture of the TH-cam comment section. As of now I'm to believe that this is a conversation between two Christians, so lets let the Spirit direct our speech. As far as comparing King David and Trump, when David was confronted by Nathan with his sin he did repent. When Trump was confronted, he called it "locker room talk". That's not repentance.
Gotta say the brother is confused when he says you need doubt to have faith. Doubt kills your faith. Faith is definitely moving forward without having all the answers, but doubt doesn't play a role in faith. I really enjoy his music and will continue to enjoy his music but this is an example of why we shouldn't elevate Christian entertainers to pastor or theologian status.
It depends on where you are in your Christian walk. For people who aren't well grounded and hold a strong understanding of the scriptures, veering off into some doubt related topics might not be good. Doubt can strengthen or break your faith. Doubting my faith was one of the greatest things I ever did. For example, I asked Why did I believe in Jesus? Long story short, we have very good reason for believing Jesus lived, died, and rose from the dead. We don't have good reason for thinking Jesus was a legend, delusion, lie, etc.
If you want to know some personal examples let me know. other than that, here are some basic resources for dealing with doubt. Address the doubt, in my years of studying there is no good logical argument against Christianity. Heres a playlist of animated videos addressing questions th-cam.com/video/NKGnXgH_CzE/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/users/InspiringPhilosophyplaylists Research Christian theologians/scholars like Timothy Keller, William Lane craig, Gary Habermas, Mike Licona, John Lennox. All take doubts and difficult questions head on. They show that there is no good "doubt" or "argument" against Christianity.
Moses wondered if they would listen. Gideon doubted God would give him victory over the midianites and ask for proof. God had grace and patience even in the old testament. Abraham doubted God would give him a son at such an old age. those experiences of doubt usually lead to a deeper faith. And in each case, God’s response is not wrath but patience; far from punishing His doubting followers, God honors those who seek after Him with earnest questions and doubt. Let us proclaim along with Mark 9:15: “I believe; help my unbelief!”
A lot of those things happened under Obama’s term. :S I ain’t even American and I know that. Trump being elected is more of people being fed up with the government and left wing propaganda, than being racist. His music bops, but man, he’s got to stop catering to blm movement.
President Trump is undoing a lot of what Obama put into place. Under Obama a bill passed that required a report for drone strikes and their effectiveness. Trumps cabinet has not reported this. So much for transparency.
Junior at least Trump is turning the debt around in the USA. More jobs for Americans, raised wages, and doing what he can to stop abortion. He’s actually done a better job helping your country out, than presidents past. But of course, leftist are blind to that.
Andy, brother, thank you for your honesty. Please take some time to listen to Candace Owens. Not just because Kanye said so, but because I really think it would help clarify some things for you to hear a different political perspective on the question of race and politics. Just as you would criticize evangelicals who live in a bubble and only listen to opinions from their own circle, it'd be useful to give the other side a fair listen. Saying this out of love. Looking forward to your future music.
The great commission go and make disciples teaching them to obey ALL that I have commanded you and I will be with you until the end of the age. The mission of CHH is headed in the wrong spirit. We go to sinners as doctors not cheerleaders.
I doubt anybody is getting saved from songs, people are saved by someone sharing the gospel with them and God opening their blind eyes. How do you know they aren't evangelistic in their personal lives that you don't see? I'm an accountant and I don't save people by putting scripture in my financial statements, it would be by challenging someone one on one.
@@lilone11586 But a song is speaking the gospel to someone. When it comes to explaining the gospel, a song can relay the same exact message as a human can. A preachers words and presence can't save anyone. It's the Holy Spirit that changes hearts. So if God will use a man on a pulpit to reach a person and bring them to salvation, he can also use a man through soundwaves. Salvation is not physical magic it's a matter of a renewed heart. Come to think of it, a person doesnt't need a single soul to get saved. All he needs is a conversation with God. You can't say what God will or wont do. He deals with ppl how He sees fit. There's nothing wrong with Christian rap. It's just that some of the artists have watered down the message of the gospel in thier music. Christian rap can either be a doorway to salvation or a celebration of salvation. It's no different from the music from those other christan artists. Not all of them are scriptially based, but compare the lyrics of an old timer ( Shrley Ceasar...?) to the lyrics of a certain Christian rapper. You'll find that the message is the same, just in differant forms. I'm not saying all Christian rap is great but it's not a bad thing. It's about the artists motives. By the way, you can't save anyone.
@@brooklynitec6888 I never said we could save everyone, not sure where that last sentence came from. And I get what you're saying, 100%, they used to be more explicit with the gospel in their songs. What I'm saying is, if they share the gospel with an unsaved person at a studio, an event, a secular artist they have built a relationship with, isn't that the great commission? To make a judgment they've lost their way because their music isn't explicitly pushing the gospel is a bit unfair to them because we don't see their interactions on a daily basis.
I really respect Andy Mineo, but I have to disagree with the Faith comments. At least what it seems to hint at. "Faith is the evidence of this not seen". Well, that is either an Oxymoron or a Paradox. Either way it is an opposing thought......right? Yet Jesus clearly rebukes His 12 Disciples for not expressing enough faith. How is enough? The size of a tiny mustard seed. Faith takes courage..... not only that..... Faith "gives" courage. Faith, made a man leave him home to travel to a land unknown to enrich his bloodline to bless the world. Faith, made a man confront an "All Powerful " king to Let his people go. Faith convinced a man that is he prayed an impossible prayer, that God would stop the rain for THREE Years that it would happen. Faith, made 3 Brother's impervious to torturous flames because they refused to worship an idol. Faith changed the stone cold murderous heart of Saul the Persecutor to the champion of faith Paul the Apostle. No! faith is not wavering. Faith is not of the flesh. That's why we walk by Faith and Not by sight.
Actually, he said he built his faith on what people taught him (same thing we all do at church on Sunday and in Christian community), and so when those same people didn't care about people of color dying (seemingly unjustly), then he questioned what he learned from them.
lilone11586 No, not everyone builds their faith based on people, on the other hand because of people you can lose it. Dude, just stop trolling these comments. People have the right to critically think for themselves. Not everyone is going to worship these dudes like ya'll. We're fighting for truth not opinions. Facts only come from Jesus Christ not no human being. These dudes are bad role models for any kind of christian especially young ones in faith and its not based on age just how fresh you are in the faith.
lilone11586 Bruh, i can tell you first hand how hard it is for caucasians to fight the unjustly battles in the broken down hoods of gang violence and cop brutality when ya'll continue to point your fingers at us and call us racist. The fact is ... its never going to end, you have to come to reality when you get saved your goals are not the same anymore. We live our life out biblically the way Jesus commanded us to go. We go pull out the ones who want Jesus and unfortunately leave the rest. Its a truthful biblical fact. Not everyone wants saved or Jesus.
conversations need to be more about god. we need to express his love and show him through ourselves if were going to use his name so questions should be more about what can we do to walk with jesus though our sins.
That's not the definition of blasphemy. And praise God our salvation is based on His grace and our faith, and not things we say in our spiritual ignorance/infancy.
Meh, it's all good. The issue I kinda have is just the lyrics from young Christian rap artists who are on fire for Jesus and they are all about reppin Christ 24/7, and the church is like yeah that's what's up! and then a couple years go by and it is no longer about that. To rap about Christ you are basically preaching Christ, and if you preach Christ with passion and fire, the words that you use... people think you actually mean what you say. But if later on the words change, it is totally is a let down/disappointment. The reach records crew all have mad skills and talent, I am sure they can all do well as secular artists, maybe shine a light a dark place. Hopefully not get lost in the process.
Wow!! So much to unpack here! This is an interesting interview but it's confusing too due the vagueness of some of the questions and answers. So this stirred some questions for me: 1. Since neither presidate candidate shared the Christian faith, why was it wrong for evangelicals (white church) to vote for Trump over Clinton? 2. If the white church had voted for Clinton, would it have caused the introspection and questioning of your faith? 3. Since "those people" taught you about God and yet voted for Trump caused you to reexamine your faith God. Were their teachings in line with the scriptures? Why did deconstruct your whole faith in God and not just the area's that conflicted with biblical teachings? 4. Do you still perform in white churches since their teachings are or may be in error? By questioning their faith aren't you effectively saying that you have the right answers? 5. If I have doubts about God, Christianity, etc that takes faith, however if I have no doubts about God completely that doesn't take faith? Seems to be backwards! Also, when did fundamentalism become synonymous with having all the answers? Just a few honest questions.
Message to Andy: you do not go to world to get your answers and read your bible to find your answers. You need to go to His word and use that as your standard and not the world. I am not sure if you know this but a huge chunk of the Hollywood music industry is satanic and you still listen to their music??? I am very confused why you would listen to that stuff?!? Kanye West?? Come on brother!! If you do your research on the artist you will discover who they are. You have to think: is my God glorified in my music?? Keep in the Word of God and you will never go wrong and there will be no confusion. 🙏🙏🙏
Mark 11:22-23 New Living Translation (NLT) 22 Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. 23 I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. Faith does not require doubt. Doubt is a tool of satan and to get deeper can actually come in the form of an evil spirit. To doubt is to not believe or to have little faith. We've all been there though...
Brian Glaze Yea. He’s been on Twitter rants and Instagram telling for the last 2 years. He finally explained himself what he been going through and the possible changes that occurred in his life.
Super disappointed to hear you make a generalization that Donald Trump is racist, Andy. No one in their right mind has a lack of care for black lives, or any lives. I don’t know that I’ll keep listening to your music or supporting you, it’s something I’ll be praying about & praying for you. The fact that you would prefer Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump overall is disturbing coming from any Christian. Lecrae also signed on with Jay-Z’s label & I’m still wondering what that’s about...how can it not be because he considers them friends... & that in itself is alarming.
You’re looking to men who aren’t supposed to be your examples. You’re looking to Andy for politics and looking to Lecraes signing when he hasn’t even dropped anything with them. And you’re being bigoted, just because he said x you won’t listen to his music? And if Trump isn’t racist then his cabinet sure is. Before Jeff Session left the DoJ he added more criteria that would make it more difficult for consent decrees to come into play. And Ben Carson who is in charge of the the Department of Housing and Urban Development has not been enforcing the Fair Housing Act.
Andy, man... I feel terrible that you say things the way you do, as far as the police shootings. My heart breaks for every one of those kids who died by.police hands. Each and every one is an individual tragedy. The thing is, I can't stand that the police have to be put into those positions. I know so many police and they are great people and the whole police community is scared out of their minds, they don't want to ever be in a postion where they feel it's necessary to take a kids life. They hate it, they are scared to death. I'm not familiar with the live video shooting you talked about, but what you described wasn't an officer scared of the kid he shot, but an officer in shock already throwing himself into justification mode because of how terrible he feels. (Just speculation, don't know the situation.) All my heros are frauds is such a good verse. I'll pray for you, I think some things you said I need to pray through. We all got some ways to go, your a sound dude.

I think there was a very interesting and honest interview and it just shows that him, Lecrae and the rest of Reach Records haven't loss their faith and always have been real and honest. Even if folks don't like it
For real for real.
Trackstarz got all the Reach Records interviews on lock!
for sure! I love these interviews a ton!
@@scottied212 Agreed
I really appreciate this comment Dylan. Allowing ourselves to be challenged can open up a lot in our hearts.
Always love when it comes to Andy and the gang! 💨💯
Rob Allen ENT hey dope to see u here bro!

Come on Andy!! "Deconstructing what I believe about God." POWERFUL!! I had to do the same thing.
So good Tommy! God allows us to come with our doubt and isn't afraid of our questions.

Love me some andy. Thanks for the interview. Looking forward to the upcoming projects
Andy Mineo always bringing it! I love hearing him share his heart and the dude is super funny.
Andy, no question you got mad talents bros, God bless !
Wow he just expressed what I was thinking all of these year's!
Great convo.! He touched on some great points.
For sure! Andy always be dropping good words.

The culture needs this dude. Christon Gray said he’d be an integral part in racial reconciliation.
I agree
Life was Given to us I totally agree.
Brian Glaze
I don’t think much of his critics keep it political, it’s largely about his rhetoric, it’s never really about his policy other than the wall, which then still deludes into him being a racist somehow.
No disrespect but It sounds from the overview something I’ve heard a million times, I don’t need to read a book to find out why I voted for the president, and I don’t mean for that to come
off in the wrong way, it’s just I don’t want to hear someone else tell me what I think, and tell me the reasons why I do what I do, as if I’m not a sentient person.
The foreshadowing sounds a little shaky, “why did white people vote for trump, it sounds as if it already presupposes this as a bad or uncommon thing that needs explaining, has there been any books out explaining why black people( or white people for that matter) voted for Obama? Or any other president for that matter?
@@lifewasgiventous1614
That is part of my point.
For the record... I love my President! We pray for our leaders...

@leightonelliot I appreciate the perspective. Thank you for your input.

Casting all your cares upon him for he cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:7
Casting "all" includes: doubt, fears, questions, etc.

Peace.

You said it... huge disappointment.
One of the promises he made while on the campaign trail was to build a wall to keep the filthy, criminal, good for nothing thieving brown people out of this country and then he’d make them pay for it ( I threw in my words in there btw).
How do you know he let the media determine his worldview?
We didn't all handle the situation good, but God is still God.
the early reach stuff was corny as heck,
With lines like
"Represent, get crunk! If you know you're reppin Jesus, go ahead and throw it up!"
I'm glad they abandoned the cringe lyrics.

😀👍 After this .... NOW I realize why I hadn’t listened to his latest projects. Big confirmation for me! #MansNotHot #Warped
I love Andy’s music, most of his songs are an inspiration and keep me focused on my walk with Jesus.
I wish he would avoid taking political stances; all this talk about institutional racism and victimhood, it distracts and divides and should be discussed in a different arena.
Nah, it was fine the way it was
Yes there are social issues out there and need to be addressed but how do u work on it when people just want to focus on that and never move on.
While I can see why some would worry about the influence, there are two things that make me look at it as a moot point:
This interview is real but it’s gonna irk some folks tbh

Set Apart the difference

God bless.
David Bonet completely agree
@@BDavid42311 Hey bro, Jesus was born of a woman. js
DID I JUST HEAR "DROP SOON"?
Ooh. Bring it Andy!

You don’t learn about God through people you learn about him through the Bible because people will fail you but God will never Fail you
I don’t know I feel like trump honestly has placed our country a lot closer to what God has in mind as a Christian nation. The only reason bad things or more prevalent is because when there is a light the darkness will always try to snuff it out. Andy I love your music bro I would in courage you to check out some of trumps policies he’s pushing and compare them to Gods word.
The fact that this Liberal would rather have Hillary as President tells you anything.
Grabbing women by the 🙀 has always been the kind nation God envisioned for us. Please don't respond to this comment unless you mention how Trump can continuously treat women like 💩 and still uphold Christian values
@@scottied212 i can't imagine how you think of King David then or those who've REPENTED of past lifestyles.
Robert Bonilla where’d he say that?
@@RobbDepp let's change the culture of the TH-cam comment section. As of now I'm to believe that this is a conversation between two Christians, so lets let the Spirit direct our speech. As far as comparing King David and Trump, when David was confronted by Nathan with his sin he did repent. When Trump was confronted, he called it "locker room talk". That's not repentance.
6:06 this man is listening to ever letter Andy says 🤣🤣
Gotta say the brother is confused when he says you need doubt to have faith. Doubt kills your faith. Faith is definitely moving forward without having all the answers, but doubt doesn't play a role in faith.
I really enjoy his music and will continue to enjoy his music but this is an example of why we shouldn't elevate Christian entertainers to pastor or theologian status.
Rudy good point dude
Heres a playlist of animated videos addressing questions
th-cam.com/video/NKGnXgH_CzE/w-d-xo.html
th-cam.com/users/InspiringPhilosophyplaylists
Research Christian theologians/scholars like
Timothy Keller, William Lane craig, Gary Habermas, Mike Licona, John Lennox. All take doubts and difficult questions head on. They show that there is no good "doubt" or "argument" against Christianity.
The bible is full of great men who questioned God.
2chainz TRUU
Looking forward to your future music.
yoo the journalist with the red hat ...is you habeshaaa?????
The great commission go and make disciples teaching them to obey ALL that I have commanded you and I will be with you until the end of the age. The mission of CHH is headed in the wrong spirit. We go to sinners as doctors not cheerleaders.
NF is a better artist and Christian rapper than these guys.
@@tomoyabosch1015 the last portion of your comment is really deep. I'm gonna use it from now on..lol

I have an honest question. What is the "white church" or "black church?" I understand basic demographics but what does it mean spiritually?
Justin Wishart
The black church as a whole may be praying for the nation they live in to love them for who they are and not to look at the melanin.

So Andy Mineo built his faith on people and wonders where his faith was in God? And talks about racism through the sense if politics? Really? Okay.
Some serious lack of critical thinking going on here. His music rocks but.....
OPC3000 🔥🔥🔥
I'm looking at Andy and still forget he's not black.
conversations need to be more about god. we need to express his love and show him through ourselves if were going to use his name so questions should be more about what can we do to walk with jesus though our sins.
U do know omg is blasphemy against Gods Holy name right? These are the kind of men that young Christians look up to there is a problem w that
That's not the definition of blasphemy. And praise God our salvation is based on His grace and our faith, and not things we say in our spiritual ignorance/infancy.
God's name isn't "God" though. It's "YHWH" and "Jesus".
2:28 45th president?
This is sad to see. No scripture in context was provided by Mineo for his "beliefs". God's word is truth - John 17:17, 2 Timothy 3:16-17
This was posted a year ago. He was popping way before that. Smh
Wow!! So much to unpack here! This is an interesting interview but it's confusing too due the vagueness of some of the questions and answers. So this stirred some questions for me:
Mark 11:22-23 New Living Translation (NLT)
22 Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God.

Super disappointed to hear you make a generalization that Donald Trump is racist, Andy. No one in their right mind has a lack of care for black lives, or any lives. I don’t know that I’ll keep listening to your music or supporting you, it’s something I’ll be praying about & praying for you.
