@@stonefitAh yes. Surely, that is the only reason why you would want to clean up the burning, smoking site of a humanitarian disaster in downtown manhatten that is poisoning the air for thousands of people and reminding them of the tragedy that killed thousands in their own city, many of whose remains are still buried in the pile of rubble. And the thousands of workers were all FBI agents, too, not regular citizens that lost friends and family in the event themselves, the very incentive for them to work day and night for months. Surely, it’s not disrespectful to them to assume they were all just trying to cover up a conspiracy.
Yea because they were covering up a HUGE crime!!! And they have the nerve to say “we started right away to show hope” or whatever they said..😢 All of us who are awake and know the evidence know what’s going on.
When I visited New York the memorial was one of my favourite places a completely different atmosphere to the rest of the city. Thank you for your bravery that day.
There were also 2 other buildings that were eventually demolished due to severe damage and contamination: Fiterman Hall and the Deutsche Bank Building. Fiterman Hall was rebuilt while there has yet to be anything built in the Deutsche Bank Buildings place.
There's also the Perelman Performing Arts that was recently completed on the site. Along with the Memorial and One World Trade, that's one of the first things I'm going to once I visit NY.
I can 100% guarantee that if another famous landmark had been destroyed on 9/11, for example the Mall of America, EPCOT, or the MGM Grand, it would have been rebuilt **FAR** faster than the WTC site. New York is completely incompetent when it comes to building anything. Examples: the Second Avenue Subway has been "coming soon" for 100 years; connecting the 63rd Street subway tunnel to the Queens Boulevard mainline took seven years to dig 1,500 feet of tunnel; East Side Access, which allows Long Island Rail Road trains to get to Grand Central, recently opened 13 years behind schedule ... I could go on and on.
Here in Brazil, it's the same thing, they say they're going to do construction, but it just takes years to start. There is no lack of money, as taxes here are extremely heavy.
I was there in dec 2014 with my dad and the freedom tower wasnt open to general public. Only workers only still as we wanted to go up but the one world observatory wasnt completed. Not been back since and also my dad died in feb 2020. But I hope to make it out there in 2024. love these videos your doing, keep up the good work.
The fact that they have turned such a tragic area so beautiful and made the buildings look like art rather than just buildings is amazing to me. I saw it just after they had it cleared (I live just upstate but was in the city a lot) and I went to college during the time they were building everything up and to see what it's become is amazing. On an aesthetic level, I personally like the design for 2 with the diamond shapes on top, I think the others clash with the surrounding buildings but that one fits right in
Great summary. The Oculus, as polarizing as it is given the signature Calatrava design hallmarks coupled with the signature Calatrava designer price tag make it one of those odd balls that I hesitate to criticize given it's intention and location. Regardless of whether anyone likes or dislikes the Oculus, it must be acknowledged that a great deal of thought and care went into the meticulous planning of that building. Every year on September 11th at 10:28am, barring overcast skies or rain, the apex/spine of the roof that holds the two opposing sides together, which runs the entire span of the roof is made of glass, and at the precise moment the North Tower slipped away into oblivion, the glass panels open to the sky and is positioned such that the sun is perfectly aligned with this narrow long opening, plunging the entire atrium into a brilliant illuminated white spectacle. It really is a spectacular and ethereal experience. I was disappointed Calatrava's Chicago Spire got cancelled, especially since we got to enjoy the 80' deep foundation hole off lake shore drive for over a decade after the economy fell out from the project.
You should do a hypothetical video on what if the wind was blowing towards Manhattan and not away out towards the Atlantic Ocean. How much more damaging would this disaster be if all of the dust and smoke went straight across Manhattan island,. How many more people would have been affected by the 911 attacks?
How about just rebuilding 2 wtc as it once was just better reinforced in the core and change the floor trusses to a different design with more strength. Think of the twin towers 2 idea.
A modern maintainable glass exterior version of the 2WTC would be a nice tribute, but sadly they very likely won't be needing so much office space ever again. It would however recomplete the skyline into its original mightiness.
@@spikester It seems like making 3,4, and 7 so tall. They may just have enough office space for todays needs. Do they even need a WTC 2 at this point? WTC 2 will be so abstract from what once was the WTC complex. With, or without it. It looks complete now. For what they're going for.
The originals were already over built by 20x your normal skyscraper! It was built with 3/5 redundancy, the inner core could handle 3x its weight and the outer steel structure could handle 5x its weight! Those buildings could take multiple hits from planes and stand.
10th Im surprised no one noticed / says anything about the windows as you look at that underground Oculus pic 6:34..resembled the towers bases..going up/leaning into each other...dont you see it? I do
i think its because you have the one 'rib' as i think they are called, and then 2 more join a little further up, is reminiscent of the Tridents at the base of each tower, i think its a great homage without just being a bunch of direct copies of the tridents which might be a little too on the nose for some people
do a video on the plane hijackings, nobody knows how exactly they got into the cockpit so it'd be cool to here the ways they could've got their way into the cockpit
Pretty easily. All the upgraded security locks and systems on planes came in *after* 9/11. Before then, it was not uncommon for hijackers to access the cockpit.
You mean the one that claims that laser beams did it and mini nukes? Also, she doesn’t account for how that energy required would also mean that lower Manhattan would be incinerated.
@@MisterMcKinney she debunked the use of mini nukes, and she never mentioned lasers of any kind. In fact I recall watching a video showing people like the founder of architects and engineers for 9/11 truth. Was talking about how she mentioned space lasers, Alex Jones said the same thing. It’s like everyone wants to label Ms Wood as crazy, even people that r supposedly on our side.
The newer designs and such are such monstrosities. They should have rebuilt everything as it was originally and still could have done some amazing memorials in honor of everyone lost. That would have shown resilience, America's strength. None of it looks right, it looks like giving up and settling for less.
Just want to let you know that all images that you show of the new 2 WTC are canceled designs except for the very last image at 9:00. That is a leaked image from Foster and Partners, who designed the diamond design but have been tasked to redesign the tower for modern tenants. Unknown if that design is final, but there is more images of that design
I can't believe some of the horrible architecture that was considered for this project. Sorry It seems like the only thing they got right was WTC 1, The Oculus, and the Memorial.(beautiful job) The rest of it just looks like a rushed mess! Although I've been to the museum, and love the inside the outside of it is horrendous! What is it???? It looks like left over wreckage from the tragedy? What's with the tiny performance arts center in the middle of all these high rises?? Who's idea was that? 🤮 7, 3,4 all look decent for today's designs, but WTC 2 is gonna make, or brake this complex. Or maybe just leave it out at this point.. I can't believe some of the designs that are thrown at this project to see if they stick. The diamond is about the best design, or another twin of WTC 1. The rest of those designs belong in the 🗑. When you look around the world (Dubi, Malaysia, Singapore to name a few) you see modern marvels. Guess American Architecture isn't what it used to be... At least we honored the victims with a beautiful memorial. Which to me was the most important part of this project. We can never bring them back in this world. Rest in peace.
