I’ll be gentling my horse and my husband’s horse is going to a friend of mine who is also a TIP trainer. I just don’t want to try to tackle two at once my first time out. Your journey has inspired me along with Britta. Also, Kazi was my original dream horse when I was a girl 40 years ago. A bay Arabian is still a favorite of mine and Kazi is beautiful. So has my 9 month old just gelded A week ago sweet Bear . Bear keeps stopping all the way out and all the home . He had taken a Very Strong objection the other day. Planting His front legs a part and just stood there . I actually had to giggle 🤣 Like … Really tell me how you really feel 🤔 So anyway Question? Has any of your Horses done this ? And what do you suggest I do besides Back up and try again ? She’s a monster at the moment while she was a sweetheart a couple of months ago. Spring is around the corner so all horses are feeling « lighter » at the moment 😅😅 She did well and so did you 😁

Wow she doing so well, since you got stepped in I thought I’d share my horse war story. So I was catching my sister dominant mare who does like me, and anyways since I’m used to a quiet old mare I made the mistake of cornering this horse I was catching. So long story short she gets spooked I have no where to run she runs me over. She stepped on my knee and my head. Yes this draft horse stepped on my head and I’m still alive to tell the story!
I wonder if deworming can have a negative impact on mood because it kills gut bacteria (which make neurotransmitter chemicals like GABA, that affect mood). a probiotic might help.
You girls are doing so well! A little tip: let your arms hang down when you lead her on the rope, when you hold them up the horse feels more tension :)
It makes sense that her personality is changing after she got dewormed. I know that when a young dog has worms they will often appear really calm and mellow but once they are dewormed they might become destructive or hyper.

A friend of ours got a 3yo mustang and he was about 14.3? or so hands and i think he's 5 now and hes about 15.3 or so hands! So I'm sure Zinfandel will be a big girl!
Zinny is big! My step moms colt is a 2 year old dark bay with a bald face and blue eyes! His name is Elliot but we call him booger. He is officially 16hh.
Your doing GREAT.. for a new owner challenging herself your doing a sensational job.. if you continue with good feed she may reach your goal heights. Remember she is Now A Teenager .. so she'll give you a bit attitude.
To give you a rough idea of how tall she will be at maturity, measure from her fetlock to her elbow, then turn the tape around and measure UP from the elbow and that should give you a good indication. I’ll be back to check how you go. Good luck, she’s beautiful, I’m envious, but I’ve been there, done that, and will be 84 years old in three weeks time.
