    Mcdonald has been on a tear this year with coming up with consistent gameplans to disrupt or slow down some of the offenses we played against this season. It's going to be interesting in the offseason how many teams are going to be desperate for his services and hopefully we can get him a new contract and not let him leave.

      I don’t believe it !
      Nah. I’m sure he’s under contract for two more seasons.
      Unless the Ravens WIN something, he won’t be offered a raise.
      IJS I’ve heard many in the media hyping this up.
      Best team losing its coordinators is NOTHING new.
      I don’t think he’s ready.
      Young OC’s have a better chance because they are innovators.
      Young DC don’t generally fair as well. The young coach in Houston Ryan, is an exception, and he “lucked “ into a great QB.
      Just realistically looking at the teams who will be looking for a new coach…. I just don’t see too many available openings.
      I think most GM’s are looking for a young offensive guy especially if that team has a young QB.
      He’s also really young. Not sure if he’s ready from a leadership standpoint. I could be wrong, but I hope not.
      I hope he stays and is groomed as a possible successor to Harbaugh.

      @@mobrown1198If another team offers Macdonald a Head Coaching job and Macdonald accepts, then League rules require the Ravens to release Macdonald from his contract.
      I believe that the Ravens would release him even without being required to.

    You mention a lot to let you know if the video is too long. I want to say the opposite! I love the longer, more in depth videos. Not enough deep dive content out there so keep it up!

    that last part about PQ is the thing that i love the most, but hurts me the most about this team. That defense in 2012 wasnt nearly as good as this one, but the parallels are uncanny. There are so many free agents after this season, that this fanbase cant imagine as other teams stamples, geno stone, PQ, Beeks, van NOY, clowney, ziet, just to name a few. Just like 2012, i hope we can win and show these guys that their hardwork paid off, because when I have kids, these are the teams and players that I will remember and follow, regardless of if they are ravens or Not. Love this team, and this defense. As a fainbase, we have waited for a moment like this, because we knew they were capable, and they are proving us right. Ive been hyper critical of the staff and the team because I knew this was possible, but I have to say, good fucking job john harhaugh, mike mac, and toddy, well fucking done.

    I agree with you Coach, those 5 interceptions were NOT a fluke it was the result of our Defense rattling Purdy (then Darnold) early and often. MacDonald out-schemed 9ers Offense, and our D really balled out. Epic. Was looking forward to your vid all day.

    The Ravens attacked the receivers the same as they do when they play the Bengals. When a team has a number of great receivers you have to get physical with them. Receivers HATE that!

      Agreed. That right there is a game changer. WR's don't like that at all. It disrupts their routes, and it also can mess up the QB as well.

    McDonald dialled up a brilliant defense yesterday looks like he and the players knew exactly what the 49ers were running on every snap. Sure we gave up some big plays but as Roquan said a few weeks ago this a bend don't break defense

    Niners fan here. Great videos! Love these sorts of all 22 view breakdowns that we can get now with TH-cam. Much better than ESPN-like coverage.
    To your question about physicality: niners publicly pride themselves on being physical, especially when it comes to YAC and run blocking by the WR core, so most teams play the niners extremely hard so they are used to it. It’s hard to say from the film if the Ravens hit harder, we’d probably have to hear from the players themselves, but it wouldn’t surprise me if so. FWIW, it looked to me like the normal very physical games the niners end up playing against good teams.

    • @TheAptos
      @TheAptos 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      One thing I forgot to mention: the niners OLine is one of the weak spots, especially the right side. I believe (could totally be wrong) that they are built for run blocking rather than pass protection, so you see some shenanigans in the pass block pretty often as a niners fan. Like RT McKivitz getting owned for the INT where the DE hit Purdy’s arm, or RG Feliciano just getting pancaked. So it’s possible that would give the impression that niners got out physical’d, which would be very true and very typical for specifically the OLine pass blocking.

    • @txlowhandexpress
      @txlowhandexpress 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheAptosimo the Niners scheme and style of offense helps the o line. When you know they’re going to have to pass defense of line men can pin their ears back and get after the qb imo. As far as physicality I don’t think there is an another division in football as rough and tough as the afc north. Mainly the Steelers and ravens but now the browns are close to that level.

  • @LeMan8o4
    @LeMan8o4 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    This defense and the OC have been able to slow down most of the QBs this season!
    They seem to be making the mental process of QB’n slow with all of the muddling of the Offensive line!
    I love it! 💜✊🏾

    Coach can you do a film breakdown comparing the play/read/ route combination of when Hamilton got the interception in the end zone and the play which the SF scored a touchdown to give them 19 points ?

  • @DrVenture45
    @DrVenture45 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have to say, I think that the Ravens have to work on tackling; which likely explains the successes teams have had with the ground attack. Now maybe it’s conservative thinking behind it, but even if safety is the priority (and it should be) they can at least combine to attack. Humphrey shouldn’t be going solo against a player like Deebo!

  • @ChrisSwayne-do5ny
    @ChrisSwayne-do5ny 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    1. Being physical with WR's is a game changer.
    2. This Ravens defense is elite. Their communication, their physicality, and their selflessness are incredible.
    4. That play you talked about earlier before the game when the 49ers motion that TE to kick the edge player out did not work against the Ravens. I saw it on your film breakdown, and I saw how the Ravens shut it down in the game.
    5. Great breakdown coach. You're my favorite TH-camr. Love your breakdowns.

    I really like how Mike and the coaches have used the front rotation, especially lining the dts out at 5 and 7. They are inviting the run and the short passes and more often than not, punishing people.
    The defense rebuild was more important to me than the offensive one, and a year ago at this time I couldn't be more satisfied or confident in the defense. Like God intended.

    The second Kyle Hamilton interception: I'd read that he was taken down by a chop block and then had a lineman lie down on him (about 23:20 on the video). It looks like the lineman gave him a punch in the kidney as well. (Perhaps I read that too and forgot - maybe that was one of the flags.)
