I have loved the Andrew Sisters all my life and it is lovely to hear Patty and Maxine in this interview which makes them feel even closer. When hearing their voices and stories and some emotional times too I feel so close to them!
Thanks for this ... sure adds a lot to their story. The 3 sisters were musical wonder-workers ... I didn't know they couldn't read music, but they certainly could SING it very well. They left us a gift in their recordings
I just acquired a handwritten note from Patty to Rose Marie. Just to hold something in my hand that was penned and held by these two greats is just amazing!
I’m finding out Patty and Maxine are intelligent ladies. They speak their mind effectively. An amazing insight into an unique era. Great content, thanks
As a lifelong fan, I can't thank you enough for posting this! What a great conversation and what great stories. It'd be easy to have this conversation eclipsed by the sad breakdown in communication between the sisters, but it sure speaks of a lot of good, shared times together.
Hi Matt! I am a lifelong fan as well and a big collector of Andrews Sisters. Are you on FB? Look me up. We are planning on a get together for Andrews Sisters Fans next year.
This was SO SPECIAL! Thank you for posting this. The Andrew Sisters & The Supremes are the Most Successful Female Groups of ALL TIME.. What a joy seeing this.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank YOU so much for sharing this! It is SUCH a rarity (and I've never heard it before). I am guessing this must have been the last interview they did together?? Because they totally stopped speaking to each other after "Over Here!" in 1974. So sad as Maxene was to live another 21 years -- and Patty was to live 39 years (without speaking to each other!).. [Maxene died 1995, and Patty died 2013]
@@Shelton1967 yes I am a collector! Sorry for the late reply as I don't very often check messages. But yeah I am a collector. And wrote to Patty about ten years ago and got a reply and a signed photo from her.
We miss them so much thanks for all their recording threats !! We love every second of listening to their songs; each and every Christmass time we listen to their album ( some with Bing Crosby) and our heart instantly are fullfill with that magic feeling for that particular time of the year !!
They couldn't read music... and they sing like that? Oh my goodness!!! And they dance and they sing simultaneously without a single flaw! oh my goodness!!!
thank you for posting this time capsule. i love hearing their stories. the andrews sisters will forever inspire and bring joy.
Im glad you enjoyed! 😀
I'm so glad this was in my recommendations. The Andrews sisters are one of the best trios along with the Boswell sisters in my opinion
This is a nice nugget of musical history. They've played with some legendary musicians and they themselves are legendary.

Not sure if it was the last, they did several in 1974 as they were appearing in Over HEre at the time. ARe you a collector?

Hi, would you happen to know who owns the copyright (if any?) to this interview?
I love this and I love the Andrews sisters! I was definitely born in the wrong generation!!
They sound like they were fun

Ummm...they were using the sound style of three sisters from New Orleans .
