25 years ago and still cool. Top albums of all time.

Patton sings 6 octaves. At 54 he still has his vocal chops. Aging like a fine scotch.

Don't you ever say they remind you of Limp Bizkit again.. hahahaha Fun fact though... FNM called it quits back in 1997 (but later reunited many many years later). Their final tour was for their album that came out after this album you are listening to. That album is called "Album of the Year," and it's full of bangers too. I saw them on that tour, and the opening act was a band nobody had ever heard of from Jacksonville Florida.. Limp Bizkit. They were just getting out there touring their 3 Dolla Bill album. Most FNM die hard fans love all their albums, but would rank their Angel Dust album as the best thing they ever put out, and then probably their biggest success The Real Thing as well. Angel Dust era FNM influenced so many bands after them like KORN, Disturbed, Papa Roach, System of a Down, Deftones, Slipknot, Incubus, and even recent bands like Twelve Foot Ninja. Angel Dust is one of those albums you just have to experience in it's entirety, but if you want to dabble into it, check out the songs Caffeine, Midlife Crisis, and Malpractice. You will clearly hear how big an influence this album had on bands that became "Nu Metal's front runners." FNM was 7 to 8 years ahead of that sound. I also saw them on the Angel Dust tour opening for Metallica and Guns N Roses. They blew those bands off their own stage.

😂 it is mostly the vibe. I think it is similar to LB's song Faith. I look forward to diving more into their work tho!!

@@hurm1t974 I think it's the other way around... FNM is everything and any of those band would not exist if there wasn't for FNM...

Mike is a Voice actor, he did the voice of the Darkness video games, L4D games the Anger spear in Portal, Bionic Commando, He also did a duel role in a movie called Firecracker, his first and only movie role. He also voice the creatures in the movie I am Legend.
He is eclectic and has done movie soundtracks. One being Crank 2.

If no one has clued you in on this yet, John Zorn is THE influence. Zorn produced Bungles first album, and Patton has worked with Zorn on many projects. A documentary about John Zorn is called "A Bookshelf On Top of the Sky". Lots of Zorn and Patton videos on youtube. And that bassline is Anthrax.

malpractice has similar korn sound with the heavy guitars same as jizzlobber. chino said the entire album of angel dust inspired him. songs like smaller an smaller shows that similar screams that chino makes. my favorite album is angel dust. that's their most influnintal album but king for day album is their most diverse singing wise and genre wise.

You are absolutely right about how your tastes and appreciation for certain music evolves. Some things I didn't totally get the first time a few years ago, then suddenly you're banging with it and can't get it out of your head. It's kind of funny that most of the bands you listed have stated how FNM has influenced them. Patton and crew are musically fearless and I love your insight! This is an amazing album...something for everyone!

Stripsearch will give you an idea of their opposing range. These cats inspired a generation of the mostly shit bands you mentioned. Check out Stripsearch and then Ugly In The Morning. You will not be let down.

slipknot is heavier then FNM but Mike Patton singer from faith no more he can sing and scream way better then Corey Taylor. to be fair though Corey has 5 octave range which is super impressive but Mike Patton has 6.5 range :))

The most brutal Faith No More song. Mike Patton’s at his best. This band is able to twist for this kind of brutal Death Metal to mellow song or Bossa nova song. This band is the most amazing ever 😍😍😍

I should also note that Patton reminds me a LOT of Maximum Bob on this song, the singer of Deli Creeps (Buckethead was in this band early on) - Bungle used to do shows with the Deli Creeps a lot and Bob did backup vocals on Bungle's Self Titled album

This album, man, still my favourite from them along with Angel Dust. You have to listen to the whole records. The Real Thing was great too, but still a little "unripe", especially Mike's voice. Edit: It's not a mix of the bands you mentioned, it's actually the other way 'round. All those bands would have never existed without FNM. Korn included. Great content, man. Just subbed.

evidence is like a jazz lounge rock song. nice genre change, digging the grave is like a punk rock song. all theses tracks are in this same album as cuckoo for caca lol that alone shows how diverse they are.

Corey Taylor was about to take his own life when he saw FNM on TV and they inspired him to keep living and continue making music. Those bands you listed… FNM INVENTED the genres those bands eventually became. They pre-date EVERYONE and are always at least 5 steps ahead of their time. Patton on his own is usually at least 10 steps ahead of everyone and everything because Patton does Patton and doesn’t give shit! When I bought this album in 95 this track blew me away (as did the whole album). I’ve seen them on every album tour and they never disappoint.
