And Jodi Hildebrandt currently considers herself the victim and the CHILDREN she abused as the perpetrators. I’m not buying Ruby Franke’s sudden remorse but Jodi is a monster. She’s ruined a bunch of people’s lives
Yeah. I believe if anything, Jodi should be serving the same punishment as Ruby too. They both committed to all of this child abuse, yet somehow she can get away with it while throwing her partner in crime under the bus.
The absolute best part of the sentencing is when the Prosecutor tells the court that Jody Hildebrandt has shown absolutely no remorse since day one. They got her on recorded prison line saying that she was the victim and that the kids were to blame. Such a horrible woman!
Can you imagine how much worse it would have gotten if that kid had not escaped??? In fact she had to have had a network.. I’m sure of it.. why wasn’t there more done??? Why wasn’t the husband charged for child neglect at the very least??? In my town there was a boy who had escaped to the Inshape gym near my house. They were his adoptive parents I think. He was chained to the fire place. The beat him and starved him. And fed him drugs.. There were a few more people arrested for giving the couple drugs. And so on. He was a youth football coach that would supply the drugs. But it never really got national attention maybe it did.. but I don’t think it was to the extent of this. The parents were fat and hideous and did not post a family TH-cam channel… This is a real story. Type in “kid escapes abusive parents to inshape gym Tracy California.” Or something similar
As a psych student, there is a ton of messed up stuff that happens when you are abused as a child. Like, it is literally so bad there can be GENETIC CHANGES that can get passed on to your children. Child abuse absolutely deserves harsh punishments when it is this severe. I hope the children have people who will love them and help them overcome this trauma.
And hopefully raised well enough to overcome any of those possible genetic changes they might have developed over all of those years of abuse. I really hope they end up being 1000% better than Ruby would have ever raised them when they reach adulthood.
I endured severe trauma my entire childhood and because of this my hippocampus never fully developed and has led to pretty bad seizures. It also can lead to dementia…fun
@@Bkid123321Or maybe just don’t use kids in your vlogs. Giving your kid money isn’t gonna make anything better if you don’t care about their feelings and only want them to smile for the camera or for example, not giving them what they need like making a kid sleep on a beanbag.
So far the closest thing to a family channel I actually enjoy is the Sml vlogs. But even then they don't show their daughter all the time and when they do it's like when she's at the park or a chuck e cheese or something in public
Jody is an evil cult leader and Ruby, with her already radical parenting methods, was ripe for the picking. They are both horrible human beings, but if Jodi is ever released, she will do the same thing again.
As a person who was born and lives in Utah, I can't tell you how relieving it is that this piece of garbage has been locked up. Also, yes. She can serve up to 60 years. How it works is that, because she's serving 4 consecutive sentences, when her first one is done, whenever that happens, the next one will start, and it'll remain like that until she's served her sentences.
Yeah but Utah’s prison system released my violent sociopath brother back into the wild thanks to “good behavior” so I don’t have a lot of faith she will do the full 60
"8 Passengers" is a chillingly ironic name for a family-friendly TH-cam Channel that would succumb to such a fate. Ridley Scott's quintessential horror movie "Alien" was titled "8th Passenger" in international theatres way back when it came out in 1979.
I work as a Courtroom/AV Technician for the state I reside in. The audio quality often suffers due to outdated technology in my courtrooms. Sometimes the audio is clear, but other times it's extremely muffled. Our courthouse, constructed in 2009, still relies on technology from 2004-2006, such as projectors, VHS/DVD players, and VGA for video and audio. Consequently, we have to use VGA to HDMI converters, which is far from ideal. Recently, our state lost a case because our technology inexplicably failed. It seems like our equipment has a mind of its own. I imagine the Judicial OIT team at UT struggles with these challenges daily. To make things work, I often have to borrow AV equipment from one courtroom to use in another. However, this makeshift solution sometimes results in disrupting an entire courtroom. While this is not how audio should function, I can attest that things can and have been much worse based on my experience.
I've been to many courthouses as well and old tech is normal for them. If it works and has always works it just stays. Usually some stuff gets left behind just because it's always been there sorta as a museum like an old Type Writer from the 20s that was there since the court was built. It depends on the cities budget if they can afford to update or not sometimes.
The state may go comparatively soft on her, but I tell you, her new room mates might very well commute it to a life sentence. People who hurt kids don't do well in prison.
Im taking pleasure in knowing that she's sitting in prison not knowing if she's out in 4 or 30. 😂 Imagine going to dinner and the waiter saying your food will be out in 20 minutes,........ to 4 hours then walking away. No clue on what is happening.
@@dynogamergurl justice will be served in its full value. I'm glad you approve. I'd die protecting a child regardless of if I know them. She's gonna get what she's earned
Jodi's niece came forward & said that she was treated the same way when she was sent to her custody. Imho, the publicity will die down & she will be quietly released after the minimum. 10 years max.
Though it might feel longer for her because as soon as prisoners find out about one of the other prisoners is in with them for abuse of any kind towards children, the person doesn't get treated well to say the very least
As a Utahn, I feel compelled to give an extra bit of context here. TLDR: Jodi Hildebrandt's services were often recommended by local LDS leaders. The ubiquity of Mormonism is perhaps the most common stereotype about my state. And deservingly so. A lot of people base all of their decisions around religion to the point where they'll go to their bishops for everything from marriage counseling to career advice. Because of this, a lot of bishops have lists of psychologists and counselors that they recommend to followers. Now, somehow or other, Jodi Hildebrandt found her way to the top of a lot of bishops' lists, and a lot of people were hesitant to stop seeing her once they started because they trusted the word of their bishops so heavily. I highly doubt that Ruby is the victim she claims to be since she was pretty obviously a child abuser beforehand. But I will say that if Hildebrandt lived in a different state, it would have been way more difficult for her to inflict this level of damage. These are just the issues that come with allowing your faith to dictate you every action, unfortunately.
@devinbunn2111 Oh hi. I'm ex-Mormon too, but my parents left the church when I was ten and took me with them so I managed to escape some of the really bizarre stuff.
1 family channel down. 100s more to go. That’s the sad reality. But, we can still help. 1 can turn into 10 then 100 then thousands. This kids are counting on us, so we need to help
I'm not defending the father and ex husband, but I think it's very possible that he was also abused by his ex wife knowing that she willingly and aggressively abused her children. It would not surprise me at all to figure that out. What doesn't make sense to me is that they got divorced, usually in domestic abuse cases there is no divorce because the abuser wouldn't let it happen, so I find that odd. That fact by itself could be used as an argument to say that he was just as bad as her but has somehow gotten away with it, knowing the sex gap that there is between men committing crimes vs women committing crimes. I could see it going both ways as I think both are very possible and probable, but I guess we'll only know when something gets brought up about him and his involvement in all of this.
This is why the stigma that having children is the meaning of life is so horrible. Not everyone should procreate and not everyone has what it takes to raise a child
@@Bkid123321thats why adoption exists so parents who can and will raise kids will take them, so sad some decide to keep and abuse the children anyways.
She was abusive to all her kids all along. Jodi just gave her permission to go farther with it. Who could kick their kid with boots on and hold their head under water? This woman was evil from the beginning as is Jodi
It's time like this that I wish there was a legal provision that allowed the judge to literally throw the book at someone. I just want to add a layer of humiliation to the ruling so people like this woman can see what the rest of us think of them.
The husband definitely deserves jail time as well. He was involved in the channel for years and he took part in the punishments and also never stepped in and said "hey maybe we shouldn't STARVE our children" It is LUDICROIS that he is just free!! Makes me so angry but I really hope his kids do NOT let him pretend to be innocent. Not now, not ever.
It's possible he was being abused by her as well. Knowing how aggressively men are targeted for physical and violent crimes like abuse it shocks me how he hasn't been arrested or taken to court or anything. After all, when the woman in the relationship is the abuser and she abuses her spouse, most times he won't admit he's being abused because of the stigmas slapped on men from feminism, so this case overall is just extremely odd to me. I can still see him being guilty of also partaking in abusing his children as well, though.
@@flamingviperv12"...because of the stigmas slapped on men from feminism." What does that even mean? Are you saying that feminism stigmatises men who get abused by their spouse? I would argue that men stigmatise other men for spousal abuse. The whole "weak man who can't handle a woman" trope. A man may be afraid to admit to a potential romantic partner that they were abused by their former partner because it could be perceived as weakness, but generally speaking women tend to like men who aren't afraid of opening up to them.
Feminism doesn't stigmatize abused men, wtf are you talking about? Who do you think was pushing for the recognition of domestic abuse against men? The feminist movement has always included men in abuse statistics and work for legislation change. Instead of giving into rhetoric by far right, often anti-woman groups, maybe you should actually look into some of these things yourself. Almost every cause in the protection of men, from domestic abuse to sexual abuse, has come from feminist or feminist adjacent groups that have been associated with it in some way or at the head of it.
It's crazy that I used to watch her channel when I was a kid. I stopped watching after that incident when one of her kids left their lunch at home and she chose to let them starve.
If they don't get the maximum 30 years I will lose faith in the entire justice system. The max would be 60 for their crimes yet for some reason Utah only allows max 30. Yet they deserve the max 30 years.
It's honestly amazing that you believe in the justice system at all and you're not already jaded, I don't mean that in a mean way but more in awe of your resilience. Rampant racism, abuse of power, child predators given less time than someone caught with drugs, general sexual predators who barely get a slap on the wrist, politicians/other people in power receiving slaps on the wrist for things average citizens would never see the day of light for doing, etc. :/ The justice system has failed for a long LONG time.
@@killer_queen4062When it comes to custody of children or anything relating to marriage, women do have the upper hand generally because of the "women should be the ones taking care of kids" and all that, along with prison sentences. @@killer_queen4062 Dawg I dealt with men who were raped by their moms, fled, and their moms still kept custody of them with the evidence so blatant and then got surprised when the men hung themselves a week after the court decided yes. Like the woman in the early 1900s who was caught cheating on her husband so she said "Oh yeah, this guy I've known for years raped me and broke in" and the poor third person got brutally lynched and died from his wounds. Don't ever say female privilege doesn't exist again unless you go and touch grass every single day for a couple of years like I do.
I was severely neglected from food and attention for years. I slept on the floor in a closet and survived off of rotten food and uncooked legumes. It is awful to be a child to be deprived of food. I even stole food from friends and my mothers house. In the end I no longer see my father and still have food insecurity issues and emotional trauma. I am lucky compared to her kids. I hope they heal both mentally and physically. May the perpetrates rot in prison
I feel bad for the kids that are in the situation elsewhere and aren’t able to get away also, there’s people doing life in prison for having like $10 worth of weed on them it’s fucked
Glad she's finally facing justice, hopefully the inmates put that monster through that same abuse she put her kids through. As the old saying goes, all kids deserve parents but some parents do not deserve kids.
"Justice" is never served. The children will end up in the foster system, or worse, with their father. No matter how long Jody and what's-her-name get sentenced to prison, the damage done can never be made whole again. Countless other children are suffering abuse at the hands of their "parents" or guardians and will continue to do so until we prioritize a system that actually cares about children's well being, not revenge
My dad works in a prison (mens one, so it may be dif), and those are the kinda people that get killed in prison, cause the guards dont care to step in.
I’d guess that women’s prison is probably even harsher on child abusers since mothers are typically closer to their children than a lot of fathers are. Idk though.
@@sisuguillam5109Thank you! I've been horrified by how many people in these comments love and encourage murder and abuse as long as the target deserves it (in their opinion). That's the same mindset of Ruby & Jody just another target deemed to deserve it. Civilized nations have a justice system for a reason, to punish people like her her crimes.
My mom was similar to this woman. I had no doors on my bed/bathroom and she would withhold food from me for days over small things like forgetting to make my bed in the morning. She forced religion and other things she believed on me and was extremely abusive both physically and mentally. I had no freedom and wasn’t allowed an opinion on anything. I ran away at 17 and it was the best thing I ever did. She left me with an extreme eating disorder, ptsd, anxiety, and a whole list of mental problems all of which I’m getting help for now. I feel for these kids and I’m glad this woman is getting what she deserves
My mom wasn't physically abusive, but she does sometimes treat me like I'm less of a human just because I have autism:< Thank God she doesn't live with us anymore:)
It actually came out during sentenc8ng that Ruby was never employed by Jodi, she was PAYING Jodi, to LET her work there and be Rudy's "mentor" This changes nothing when it comes to how terrible of a person Ruby or Jodi is, but I found it interesting. Jodi totally has a cult-leader mindset. If you look into Jodi's past you'll see that Jodi has a nasty past. But yes, Ruby is evil as well. I would never do this to my kid just because some counselor on her high horse tells me to. Lock them both up for life.
The garbled nonsense translated 7:32 "Kevin, my husband of more than 23 years, you are the love of my life (cough/boohoo) I'm so sorry to leave to you to finish what we both started together (snoffle) The ending of our marriage is a tragedy, ?you are all wrapped around my heart? and I'll never be able to undo..." Idfk tho that's the best I can do
Starting at 7:40, what she says doesn't really matter here. As a former child of abuse, that very specific tone of slowly building up the tears, pitch and tone, sets off SO many triggers for me. It is a manipulation tactic and a well-practiced one, that specifically seems to come from abusive mothers and/or maternal figures. I have seen it used in SO many court cases, and even in politics, when an abuser is trying to sway everyone over to seeing THEM as the victim, to make you, the actual victim, feel horrible and lose any will to argue or defend yourself. To explain the way it works, it is almost exclusively used when other adults are around, to put on a show while the child is being "reprimanded". The words used will typically be something that twists around to sound like they are apologizing for failing at making you a better person, etc. while carefully slipping in hints at how much you hurt them. This poisons the well for anyone listening who is easy to manipulate, and unfortunately, if you don't know this tactic, it IS easy to fall for. The adults around are inclined to comfort the crying woman and chastise the abused child, which makes it that much harder for the child to come forward or feel they have any grounds to defend themselves. Yes, she is using this tactic while speaking to her husband on the stand, "apologizing" for failing their marriage and leaving him to finish what they started and what a tragedy it all is (that was all I could make out of it, the rest was just muffled so badly by her whimpering directly into the mic). But it is the same tactic. She is using one of her main manipulation methods to garner sympathy as a weapon. I genuinely hope they both rot in prison for the rest of their lives. But even more so, I hope the kids get the help they need and deserve, and learn that there are people who will love and support them, that they can trust and live happy lives. And I really, really hope YT takes action and we finally see the end of the Family Channel era, but that is probably taking a step too far into fantasy land. TL;DR, never trust the slow build crying method, it is red flags all around of a serial abuser
Best news of the year tbh. Hopefully they get that maximum sentence and those kids never have to experience anything like that ever again. Some truly horrific stuff and the fact the boy is always referenced as "ESCAPED" settles it. I fear for the children of adults whom think either the 'parents' are any sort of correct- if any unfortunately exist. Nothing about this situation was normal or bad parenting, it was straight up abuse being equated to a concentration camp by law enforcement.
I got the ick when Ruby used the word “distorted”, I can’t believe she chose that word of all. Also a couple of the older kids said that she was the harshest on the younger 2 of the kids. If you want a good amount of information Markie has been covering her for years. Also she got really bad when she got with Jodi but she’s had abusive behavior for years, along with her husband. They took away her oldest son’s bed room for like 8 months, for tricking his brother.
"all W around my heart and that I'll never be able Uno too" 7:54 idk I think auto-translate is doing a good job on describing what this woman is saying.
Kevin needs to loose forever custody too. He was absolutely complicant. When the money stopped he simply walked away. He didn't rescue and protect his children. He was, "Channel is gone. Sponsors gone. Money stopped. See ya!"
The amount of times I rolled my eyes hearing Ruby’s statement to the judge and her fake crying voice added to it…what she is about to go through in prison is nothing compared to the hell she put her children through and the trauma they will have to live with for the rest of their lives. I hope parole keeps them in prison for as long as they can.
I THINK I TRANSCRIBED THE MESSED UP PART, its late and i didnt get all of it but the closest stuff i could hear is there "Kevin, my husband and (love?) for 23 years. You were the love of my life. I'm so sorry I left you to finish what we started together. (Everything that happened?) is a tradgedy. And all that (trauma?/Drama?sounded closer to "drama"), hurt, (and all?) that I'll never be able to undo."
I’m so glad I moved out of Saint George, that place literally sucks to live in. I happened to be out of town when they were doing the hearing but I hear that the court house was swamped with people
I think she’s in some real hot water as Utah is already a pretty strict place and she deserves everything she gets, No one should ever abuse a child 🤦♂️
This woman deserves at least 25-30 years for what shes done to these innocent, defenceless small children. If I was the judge on that panel, i wouldve found any way possible to lock her up for life.
Absolutely horrific woman, I did hear about this before & glad she's been sentenced, but I cannot help but feel child abusers don't get enough. Hope the kids end up with people who love and care for them and that they go on to live better lives & that the system doesn't fail them. She cannot deflect any of the blame onto anybody else nor should "I am getting help" should give her leniency nor is it relevant. The time to get help is when you have found yourself having the urges to do something horrible. And if you want people to believe you're sincere whilst you're under the illusion you're getting away with it. Once you've been caught, you're only saving face, getting caught doesn't mean you suddenly know what you're doing is wrong, remorse after getting caught is remorse for getting caught. A person's character cannot be judged on what they do when they're caught, but what they do when they think they can get away with it. If she had remorse for her actions her focus wouldn't be on what Jody did, it would not be on the help she's getting to get better, it's not on the people who helped, she would hate herself, she wouldn't care what happened to her & probably want the harshest sentence, she would not try to have a defense because whatever circumstances led her that way she still committed those acts & a remorseful person who not find nuance here matters, she would beg that her kids get a better life & kept safe from her & accept she is exempt from sympathy & understanding. Whether she's got "help" will only matter later down the line should the kids when they're older & if trying to get closure from her.
You’re the rightest person here. If she was sorry y you you could be able to tell. I can kinda get behind the Jodi kinda influneced a little but I don’t think she molded her. Lady … listen if you thank the people that won’t help. I don’t get it. I get the smallest bit of this me and my parents used to fight every day. I wasn’t abused but we fought and fought it was getting so old. But is it fine now. the fact tha- why rope. Your kids are little you’s you love them. You take care of them why would you like the abuse if you were a kid. Rope. No food. No water. No entertainment ( I think the entertainment is not good but not bad I think children should have entertainment to keep them happy that’s why baby toys exist but it’s definitely not good they have to entertainment but I don’t think it is perfect I think they should have something and something I don’t what to think about the entertainment ) and when august said she said no one stepped in and said no you shouldn’t do that NORMAL PEOPLE KNOW they don’t need telling of what to do with your children you should know the minimum take care of them, give them love, food, water, stuff to do. And you are correct your 2nd paragraph is right. The fact that they were abused so much one of the 4 I think maybe 5 children had to escape and go to the neighbors which if they could leave you should get away seek help tell. Jodi is horrible period. But she did not mold the mom. The dad should get the same treatment JAIL TIME. Child abuse is horrible if you do no matter how much you do it a little a lot I think you should get a little less than life because you scared them and hurt them fo f for their life you hurt them to the point that you have ropes and no food no water I don’t want to repeat my self but. He should. The dad should not be free he was most likey with her. Children should not have to let alone be ABLE TO go through concentration camps let alone again at their own safe but not safe now but safe place of where they live. The court should never be just a room with people victims and the judge and whatever with no justice. She and HE should get 40 60 years. They should. You can’t deny it. They should. She should know that you don’t ROPE YOUR KIDS. Just I thin- SHE DOESN’T CARE. She doesn’t care about the people she should love she should care about. Your children are not objects they are mini you’s children not nothing nor dirt or air they help you you help them. All children need people to love them and care abotut them. To you they are not angles they are nothing to you. She doesn’t need… she is just putting off jailwith thanking everybody. Cut her off she explained her point put her in prison now
There are states where POSSESSING MARIJUANA will get you more time than abusing a child, he says to me accusingly as i take another toke and think about the sheer volume of mothers like Ruby Franke there are in the world... crazy man...
I'm honestly shocked that she's gotten the sentencing she's gotten. Utah is a fucked up theocratic state, but hopefully, like you said, they won't go light on them since it's such a high profile case. They need to be made examples of.
I think her attorney counciled her to make that statement in hopes of getting off on parole sooner than later. The statement will later be read, not listened to. It could help her case that she is truly remorseful.
For what it's worth, her attorney more than likely didn't "allow" her to do anything. He probably advised against it. But you can only advise a client, you can't make them listen.
She seriously treated her statement as some kind of a "thank you" I couldn't have done this without you..... as if she'd won a Golden Globe or a Grammy. She's grotesque!
It’s crazy to me that so many parents think they can use literally any tactic to parent their kids and even crazier that the states so often turns a blind eye towards it. This is finally some justice served.
Lets hope Ruby gets the maximum sentence of 30 years without parole so her kids can grow up with good, loving parents and they can forget the time they spent with this monster. Meanwhile Ruby can grow old and unloved, and once she gets released she can realize she wasted her life and is unloved and forgotten.
Thank you for stressing that it's virtually not possible that the father didn't know anything or wasn't an active part of the abuse. He is absolutely not an innocent bystander in this one.
The fact she literally made her kids starve when they forget their lunches to teach them a lesson is just bad parenting. There’s a silver lining between teaching a lesson, and blatant child abuse.
Also, Jodi did this to her own niece. Part of the punishment was literally trying to strip the children of their identity. (I watched the 2020 documentary thingy on this topic)
7:50 “I think ending the bad marriage is/was a tragedy. Can you imagine how my heart- getting back to something I can never return to” ??? That is what I heard + what I filled in to make it make a bit more sense. :]

Ruby is clearly not emotional because of what she did, she’s emotional because she got caught
if she went OF or became a Swinger gale she be making more money plus she stay out crime
Does she really? Are there any videos, articles or quotes? I want to see this.

The absolute best part of the sentencing is when the Prosecutor tells the court that Jody Hildebrandt has shown absolutely no remorse since day one. They got her on recorded prison line saying that she was the victim and that the kids were to blame. Such a horrible woman!

It depends on the cities budget if they can afford to update or not sometimes.
.. if only there was something like tax dollars?! smh lmfao
The state may go comparatively soft on her, but I tell you, her new room mates might very well commute it to a life sentence. People who hurt kids don't do well in prison.

As another Utahn (and Ex-Mormon), I can confirm all this
@devinbunn2111 Oh hi. I'm ex-Mormon too, but my parents left the church when I was ten and took me with them so I managed to escape some of the really bizarre stuff.
I survived familial (stepmother) and d.v abuse for a majority of my life. It fills me with a sense of relief that justice is being handed out
The scariest thing is that Jodi had a COMPANY. This one family was DEFINITELY not the only one getting fed this kind of abuse advice.
Just because you met a bigger sociopath, doesn't mean you are no longer a sociopath Ruby!
1 family channel down. 100s more to go. That’s the sad reality. But, we can still help. 1 can turn into 10 then 100 then thousands. This kids are counting on us, so we need to help
Maybe B.A.C.A can help
I agree, her husband is just as much as a POS as she is for neglecting his kids and allowing her and her business partner to abuse his kids.
Is it that hard to not abuse their children 😭😭😭 people are messed up
Some parents power trip ig
She was NOT sentenced to jail.
If I remember right he and Ruby separated for like 3 months before her arrest. If he was there it's very likely he would go to jail.

@@anglepsycho there's no such thing as ovary rights in the usa

I’d guess that women’s prison is probably even harsher on child abusers since mothers are typically closer to their children than a lot of fathers are. Idk though.

It actually came out during sentenc8ng that Ruby was never employed by Jodi, she was PAYING Jodi, to LET her work there and be Rudy's "mentor"
This changes nothing when it comes to how terrible of a person Ruby or Jodi is, but I found it interesting. Jodi totally has a cult-leader mindset. If you look into Jodi's past you'll see that Jodi has a nasty past. But yes, Ruby is evil as well. I would never do this to my kid just because some counselor on her high horse tells me to. Idfk tho that's the best I can do
Starting at 7:40, what she says doesn't really matter here.
I will never stop hating family channels and people who exploit lids and who tf flexes about abuse-
To quote the fictional Detective Rust, "and prison is very very hard on people who hurt kids...."

I think she’s in some real hot water as Utah is already a pretty strict place and she deserves everything she gets, No one should ever abuse a child 🤦♂️
She said: "Together the ending of our marriage is a tragedy and all hurt around my heart. And I'll never be able to undo."
From what I gathered she was at that moment basically saying that the broken love of her husband was tragic in that incoherent part at least
I think they purposely made her microphone audio bad because no one wants to hear her excuses lol
i accidentally started this video with my heavy metal equalizer preset still on... and your voice sounded really cool
She seriously treated her statement as some kind of a "thank you" I couldn't have done this without you..... as if she'd won a Golden Globe or a Grammy. She's grotesque!
I dislike that they can get deals after doing something so horrendous
The 1 to 15 years is especially cruel because it gives the inmate hope year after year and no freedom. Nice.😊
It’s crazy to me that so many parents think they can use literally any tactic to parent their kids and even crazier that the states so often turns a blind eye towards it. This is finally some justice served.
After an hour I finally realized how messed up this woman was. I am so glad that she is now convicted.
Hopefully the prisoners shows no mercy on that person.

Ruby Franke, Return to your pokeball!
The original sentence was 30 I believe
I went to watch the old video about this and I’m so happy she’s been found guilty (like there was any proof of her not being a horrible mother)
Thank you for stressing that it's virtually not possible that the father didn't know anything or wasn't an active part of the abuse. He is absolutely not an innocent bystander in this one.
as long as her total sentence is over 18 years, I'm happy, because that means her kids would never have to see her again
The fact she literally made her kids starve when they forget their lunches to teach them a lesson is just bad parenting.
There’s a silver lining between teaching a lesson, and blatant child abuse.
Heard about this on the radio on my way to school thought “wait have I heard about this before?” Good to know I was correct and she got punished.

That is what I heard + what I filled in to make it make a bit more sense. :]
Seems like Ruby Franke is walking towards the right direction. She’s finally at odds with keeping her image clean from the accusers taking her down.
The husband being complicit would be entirely based on whether he lived with them. If not, then he probably never knew any of it and when denied visitation rights got no where in trying to get a court order
Up to 60 years. That's basically a life sentence.
The maximum in this type of case is 30. At her age it's more or less still a life sentence.
