It has nothing to do with him pretending that he is unattractive, its because he was overweight when he was young and probably was the first one to critique himself and that shit really stays with you and no matter what shape you get in to you are always finding something you dont like about yourself. I have the same problem, i went from fat kid until i started working out and now become a propper bodybuilder but still day after day i hate myself because im never satisfied with either my muscle size or the fat procentage. And my quads are 76cm which is freacking more than some of my girl classmates waist but i still see themselves as small legs when i look in the mirror..
