Model #CMXGMAM1125499
I put together this video from 2 different days,
1st day the grass/weeds were a little wet from a storm the previous day & and very tall.
2nd day it was dry grass and performed better.

Thanks for posting! As a First time home buyer I never thought id be so excited to buy this!
😂 same reason why I’m here ! 😆
Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower th-cam.com/users/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.
I just purchased this mower. I also had the same mower you replaced with this mower. Small world. Agree with you on this mower. A lot more plastic. Also noticed is no priming with this mower. But much appreciate your help on getting mine together.
I never would have gotten it put together with the instructions provided. Thanks.
Same here!
Thank you for this. It helped me put it together with no problems.
I wanted a bagger so I could compost all that green gold. I just bought this today and from what I've seen of you cutting those 3 foot weeds, it's gonna serve me just fine. Thanks for posting the vid. Very helpful.
Modern Craftsman machines no longer need to press the red button next to the filter three times before turning them on, now you just pull the cord and it turns on, a detail that many do not realize
I am wondering why they still have that red button then. Is there a reason for it? Sorry, I don't know about lawnmowers but I need to learn how to use one soon.
@@MAC35REM It is so that the gasoline enters the ducts and starts the ignition when pulling the starter rope. Some of the new machines are more automatic, you just pull the cord and they turn on.
❤❤❤I brought the same 140 cc yesterday ❤❤I’m enjoying this video. Now I see what it can do.
Thanks! This made assembly SO much easier!
I have this exact same mower but under the Troy Bilt name. I purchased it from Lowe's back in June of 2016. It is May of 2024 and it still works/runs great, cranking within the first two pulls. P.S: I've only changed the oil, blade, and spark plug once. That was back in 2021. I store it in my garage. Plus I always run it completely out of gas before storing it for the winter. I'm confident it will last at least another two years as I'm not ready to spend over $300 on a new mower. However, if I have to, I will buy this mower from Craftsman. Great review!
I think it'll last for a very long time atleast the motor
@@albertpintor3522 I'm confident it will. I maintain my equipment and don't leave it outside. Plus a new mower today would be pretty expensive.
I just purchased this model and have had similar machines with the B&S 550ex engine. It's a newer more plastic deck layout but enthusiast about yours hitting high grass and weeds. I know this model engine has the crappy plastic carburetor but I've lots of experience rebuilding them or replacing. Someone stole my old one.
Thanks awesome video definitely helped with extending the rail to get the string to come out
Thank you for this - I gave up trying to get the bolts into the handles. The bolts seemed just too large. But now that it does look possible to do it, I will try again. In the meantime I have used the old faithful....zipties!
That is reason I found this vid.
The oil bottle (supplied) had the right amount of oil (less than 15 oz.). They added a little before shipping. You added more than needed and that's why when you started the mower it smoked a little. It is better to run the machine with a little less oil than overfilled.
I bought it like new for 150$ at east side pawn shop! Love it!
Damn!! I justed wanted it to cut muh grass… not the Amazon rainforest!! Looks like i’ll be set😎
Sincerely, thank you. I don’t have a dad
Your welcome, glad it helped you out👍
One thing I can tell is that today's lawn mowers are no longer made to last for decades like they used to be. Even the mid range ones are cheap plastic all around. I am thinking that it may be worth buying an used mower from 2 decades ago that still works. It may last longer than one of these new ones. As for this particular model you may see that is a bit underpowered. The mower has challenges of cutting higher grass.
I can attest to this. We have a 1994 Toro SuperPro push mower that my dad bought brand new in 1994, then he gave it to me. It still runs perfectly. Put some new wheels on it, new blades, and a tune up last summer and it starts within 2 pulls everytime still.
B.S. Only mower to ever buy is a Honda commercial. Will last 25+ years easy.
So very true! It's sad how quality has degraded over the years. I can still remember going to Sears and seeing the Craftsman mowers of the late 80s and early 90s...when they were SOLID and very little plastic was on them!
Thank you for posting he did a great job love that exclamation I kind of had to figure out how to do the bag because you didn’t do the instructions on that but it’s OK. Everything else worked out good. Thanks for doing the video.
you can use a ziptie to hold the safety bar down while mowing
I would use Velcro.
Thank you for posting this video! Helped me tremendously because the instructions were hard lol also how often do you put oil ?
Mine was $485. Haha inflation really picked up the price for me
Thanks for the helpful video. Much better than the instructions.
Helpful, thanks very much! Better clarity in your video than in the instruction manual.
I couldn’t get mine to start out of box
Same issue here.. any luck? Any tips? HELP ME! Lol
Love these mowers, but am strongly considering to buy the craftsman self propelled m220 model from Lowe’s next spring in 2024. But love craftsman mowers, my dad had a 95 craftsman self propelled mower from sears many yrs ago, i did well.
Thank you for the video, it was very helpful
How is this mower running update plz
But if y'all do end up getting one just keep the empty yellow bottle and use it like a measuring a cup and with it after market oil 30 w oil and it's 16 ozs look on back
That toy looks fun to use
Fantastic. Thank you so much for posting
I have the exact same one and mine is already broken in and it was only $371 bucks at Lowe's
Thanks for great instructions! Saved the day!😊
Thanks for the video definitely I will buy it
My mower stopped on me on a Hot 90 plus degree day so i thought it had no oil. I added oil and overfilled it but i took out the excess oil but still No Start. I set it aside and around 9 pm it started fine. I use Super Unleaded gas. Doesn't seem as watery as Regular unleaded gas. WOW. Looks like you need a Front string trimmer not a Lawn Mower. Did you not cut it in 2 years.?? Save the Rain Forest.
I've never had a new push mower with a bagger to it I'm sure it would be nice
Thank you for the demo. ❤
Thank you for explaining!
When I crank my push mower pull the cord out about two or three inches out when pull the cord
We have the same mower bro....👍👍👍👍
Very helpful, thank you!
Thanks my friend 💯🤝
Any idea why a brand new machine will not start? Oil and gas is filled.
God Bless you for this vid!
I have a similar lawnmower. I honestly prefer the plastic on the bag/handle mount. It isolates vibrations soo much better vs the all-metal cub cadet I had years ago.
Thank You Sir!!!! Those Craftsman instructions sucked!!!
Thank you for this video!!
Thank you
The first bolt you put in does it get tight? Does it go into the bolt on the bottom and tighten?
The bolt just turns and turns.
I suggest that you read the manual along with watching this video.
And my muffler guard came off my Murray push mower I've burned my hand on the machine of the muffler a lot when my hand get to close to the muffler
How do I get it to start? 😂 I'm pulling the string but its not extending all the way out
Thanks
excellent
Man I would like to have one of those push lawnmowers my Murray isn't worth it
My Murray is just something to use that's all
Lawn was a bit overgrown 😁
Because of inflation, this model costed me $299 from Lowes, which was a Memorial Day sales price. The original price is $319.
369 today
It’s now $340 on sale 🙄
@@FinaciallearninghabitsYes. I just bought one.
heck I paid $366 and that's with a military discount
$399 a few weeks ago at Lowes.
🎉🎉🎉🎉
did you not finish applying the bag or is it supposed to be that way ??
Thanks, man! Do you know how much gasoline it takes?
I didn't see how you started it. Mine won't start
Thank you for making this video!!. 😊 The instructions in the box are HORRIBLE.
And no priming the bulb
Win
what gass did u use sir? Thank you
Gas*
regular
91
dam man your bagger port is stopped up . so your trying to mulch 20 inch weeds
U do the lawnmower huh, ???
Very disappointing. I just purchased this exact mower right out of the box did all the prep work to get it ready for use and the pull rope is seized and only pulls out around five inches or so. It also appears the blade strikes the underneath of the housing. Right out of the box, brand spankin new and it's not operational. I purchased it because I was under the impression Sears and Briggs and Stratton were excellent at what they do. Obviously I was wrong. I do not recommend this mower
only thing i can think of if you missed the step at 4:55 those bars will hit with the blade if you dont pull it up. Other than that yea disappointing that it didnt work. Thanks for the feedback, others will find this helpful
@@islavavideos Oh I did all the steps as listed. The mower was defective and returned. Thanks so much
Same with mine
What type of gas does this use? Regular?
Regular gas minimum of 87
Yep regular gas
91 is the best
I ain't have one
Lift the mowers wheels up
Man your camera is way too close
Mechanical skills need practice looked very awkward wrenching on those bolts dawg.
Why didn’t you show in detail how to start?
What's to show?? Pull bail handle down and pull rope to start.
These craftsman and push mowers are all junk. Anything you buy at home depot or lowes is meant for your home use, cutting on dry days when grass is NOT wet, and anything longer than 6 inches has to be weed whacked first. You should have been emptying that bag every 200 feet so it doesn't get all bunched up and ruining the engine. Invest in a good used riding lawnmower or a cub cadet string trimmer to use first on tall grass before using. The only mowers to use are Honda's, and even the commercial mowers you would never use to cut this tall of grass. Use common sense, if you spend less than $500 for any mower, you will always have problems.
thanks for filling the video with useless information
You don't know how to mow!!!
How much gas do i need for the new mower
Thank you.
Thank you
