The ends of the cut cable ties MUST be smoothed. They are VERY dangerous. Razor sharp. Will cut you open like a tomato, painfully, and if one cuts open your wrist, you’re in big trouble?! The easiest way to smooth them out is with a lighter. A few seconds under a flame does the trick.
This from years of working with cable ties in low-volt cable installation.

I have decided to try growing in plastic containers as you have done. I have bottles that look exactly like what you are using but the box cutter I have doesn't begin to cut the plastic. So what kind of cutter are you using. I'm really excited to try this and have been collecting bottles.

It's a great project if you already have those tools. By the time I buy the saw, the welding tool and the metal rods, I'd be better off simply purchasing a ready made strawberry tower.
But this is a very clever idea, just not practical for many people.👍🏻
You could use Rigid Schedule 40 PVC pipes..but it looks like her welding tool is a DIY Battery charger???

I'm not sure how long before the plastic splits anyhow, between the weight of the dirt and water. Maybe their plastic jugs are stronger than here in the US. Interesting idea though
