I was a Savile Row tailor for many years and we never did that - we had to spend ages layering the seams, trimming and using something called a bodkin to turn them. I have never heard of this trick - 30 years later I have learned something new so thank you...! Xx
Thanks for getting the message out there. My mum taught me this in the 70’s when I was a kid. Can’t believe it’s still a secret all these years later. Thanks for sharing.
I am totally AMAZED! No one ever taught this technique that I know of. I was trying to make placemats the other day and the corner went bulky like you showed. Thank you for your expertise on making a beautiful point.
My home ec teacher taught this way back in 1973! It made so much sense when one thinks about it. I'm surprised that everyone doesn't know this since I learned it in a tiny hick town! LOL But, then again, I realized what an excellent all-around education I had received from that small-town school when I went to college and those around me were struggling! Thank you northern WI teachers!
Brilliant! Just goes to show that you teach an old dog new tricks. I'm in my sixties and have battled these corners all my life 🤔 Thank you for taking th e time to share your skills 🌹
This is absolutely fantastic. I have a project that requires perfect points and didnt know how to do it but this was very helpful. Watched start to finish and it didnt feel like it took 7 minutes. You are beautiful and your accent is lovely to listen to. And this video didnt drag on with unnecessary information or corny jokes like a lot do. Subscribed!
That is awesome!!! I have been sewing for a long time and was always frustrated with my corners!!! Can't wait to try this on my next project!!! Your the best!!!! Thanks so much!!
This is a superb idea to get a perfectly pointed right angled corner!! I have been stitching for 30 years now, but never got a perfect pointed corner, without lot of struggle. Thanks dear, for sharing this tip!!
That’s great!! I’ve been sewing for over 50 years and made 1000s of bad corners (at least). Thank you for this great video. You have a wonderful voice!!
It seems so counter intuitive to sew it flat across the corner, rather than sewing into the corner point- but what a difference!! This is great. Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼
This is so, SO helpful!! I'm working on trying to make my own pattern for a character plushie whose style has a ton of sharp edges, and I just couldn't figure out how to get them to look right! All the little lumpy round edges was starting to get disheartening - but I think with your advice here, I might be able to get this just right! Thank you so much!
Hahahaha perfect!!! Thanks for sharing!! Love to watch other tips!!! While those lockdown days I start sewing bags for my wife, that’s what I’m looking for thanks again and greetings from Istanbul✌🏽
Excellent technique!! Thank you. I loved the horizontal ruler across the front of the machine. Such a simple addition would be incredibly helpful! Subscribed.
Finally! A video that is simple and explains EXACTLY how to get perfect sharp corners. Thank you
