No, it is actually easy to replace the fans. If you want I could make a tutorial on how to do it tomorrow on my 20 foot elf All you have to do is unscrew the old fan take it out if you want to cut the light string and leave the lights in the blow up wire the lights to the new fan and screw the little plastic bracket back in there
