Great deal on that (roughly £41 here in the UK). I had a pearl white one in 2014 but found the screw hole on the pickup dug into my thumb & began to hate it. In 2021, I was looking for a reserve bass for my Warwick RB & found a 2017 SR300E in pearl fade metallic. It has the Powerspan dual coil humbuckers & I absolutely adore its versatility. Guy sold it to me cheap because it had no 9v battery or strap buttons, so he expected it might not even work... A simple £3 spent on a new battery had it fixed & he let me have it for £95/$116 - the damn thing is almost in factory fresh condition, not even a mark or dent on the body. Plus being a 2017, the body is mahogany, neck is maple/rosewood plus the fretboard is rosewood too. More recently, the materials have changed, so body is now nyatoh wood, the neck is maple/walnut and fretboard is jatoba, which is lively to make modern versions feel or sound differently. Its my first choice bass over my cheap Warwick RB & like you say, that neck on an SR300 or 300E is sleek and smooth. Congratulations on a bargain of bargains 😊 I just wish Ibanez was making these 30yrs ago and I would've loved to have had this for gigs..
Awesome score! I thought I scored a deal on the same exact bass last week used at $140. Ibanez started making quality guitars and basses for the broke musician back in the late 80's... We could only drool over Jackson/Charvels back then as they were at the top of the chain/unaffordable. Hats off to Ibanez for keeping it real!
That's a nice bass, Dylan, a couple beginner (but fun to play) songs are Along Comes Mary by The Bloodhound Gang and Supernova by Fear Factory. If you want something darker, some good songs are Freezing Moon by Mayhem and Spleen by Peste Noire. Anyway, keep the cool content coming, dude, cheers!

You'd be surprised how many pros can't service and maintain their own tools. That's why techs exist. It's a more foreign concept to younger people, because we generally have a wider skill set because of the internet. Boomers call the repairman, millennials look up tutorials.
Maybe you could do this. I had an idea. What if you took the parts in that bass and put it into a guitar. Would it sound good? I mean it has treble and bass switches. I bet it would sound great.
You can't just put any random parts in different instruments or even models for that matter nothing will fit. Bass pickups are completely different than guitar ones. Also they are shaped and sized different so wouldn't fit in. They make smaller basses called short scales with shorter necks that might be what your looking for.

If you wanna hydro dip it, go for it. It wouldn’t hurt to get a better understanding of the electronics and give her a thorough look over and fine tuning.
to bad it does not have the pickup selector switch because i have the new model in my collection and you can use it as a kill switch also when you get a chance try a ubass it is like a small upright bass mine is a kala 5 string solid body

I actually have the sr305, probably around the same year. Haven't picked it up for years though! I refuse to sell it as I'm planning on starting up again when I finish studying at university :) The bass is sooo nice for what it is ngl! and is that rocksmith on pc? If it is, I need to get myself a kit for it 😛

skils arts 2 no argument there, most kala’s are amazing mid/high tear basses.
