It will be very interesting to see what you would be like if you "chose" your government like ours. Nobody votes for them, people protests but it gets quickly stamped on. @@OlgasBritishFells Did I criticize those who are aware that they live in a dictatorship ? Or those who have had the courage (or the means) to leave their country ? Certainly not...
But I laugh at those Russians convinced that their country is the greatest, that their leaders are competent, that the western world envies them and wants to steal their resources.
Those people are unable to understand that things do not add up... but I think at some point, the reality is going to bite them right in the backside... like that 'patriot' who might have decided to go to the front, thinking his army would be well equipped with experienced commanders. He's in for a surprise when a KAMAZ will drop him 6 km from the front line after a few hours of military training and with a rusty gun.

@@ВалерийПономарев-к4х I checked some interviews earlier about this issue: many of those who are making money from tourism want the borders closed. Naturally, there are always some opportunists. With Free movement - if you are talking about EU politics - applies to the EU citizens. But if you talking that ideological movement, it is a group of people who would love to open the borders to everybody (even Russians know that is totally crazy and dangerous idea).
And why would Russians even want to come to Finland now? They are basicly in war against the West. And if they do not agree with their OWN leaders, they should be protesting on the streets - specially in the big cities. However the situation is this: there have been facilities related to the military industrial complex sabotaged in the EU. Russian entities have been buying up land and facilities next to critical infrastructure in Finland for decades (no worries, come a conflict, the Finnish government will confiscate all those properties). This is the reason why we cannot allow Russians into our country/the EU anymore.
And let me be clear: we will never allow one single Russian soldier on our soil without invitation. And we or the Baltic countries will never be a part of Russia again. Why? Because we are not Russian. Anybody who thinks that the Finns are going to give up our 'happiest country on earth' system to be a part of Russia is a delusional idiot.

Unfortunately the zars of Russia tried to Russificate Finland. Didn't stick fully to the agreements regarding Finlands autonomy.
Russia was still a country where part of the population were slaves. Until 1861.
Serfdom = slavery was forbidden in Sweden and Finland already the year 1335.
The russification was not popular in Finland.
At the same time as the Russian revolution - a Civil War was taking place in Russia Finnish Socialist, the "Reds" wanted Finland to join the Russian revolution.
But most Finns were not interested. Thus a Civil War started in Finland. That as so had nothing to do with the Russian revolution. The "Whites" wanted Finland to be an independent country. "We are not Swedes and will never be Russians. So let us be Finns".
The Civil War was a hard time. But the "Whites" did win. And Finlands Parliament declared Finlands independence the 6th of December 1907.
The Russian revolutionaries were fighting among themselves. And fighting against Russians that wished Russia to continue as a zar empire. The Bolscheviks that did win granted Finlands independence. There was a referendum where the Finnish people chose to become an independent democracy.
Thus Finland became an independent democracy and a first president was elected.
Finland started to build up and develope the country's economy.
The 30th of November 1939 Stalin attacked Finland. Under the fictive excuse and pretense that Finland was a threat to Leningrad.... Actually Stalin wanted to take over Finland due to the nickel mines in the North of Finland. And due to Finlands Baltic Sea harbors and the Kola peninsula.
I and others have written about the Finnish Winterwar 1939 - 1940. And the war with USSR June 1941 - September 1944. After 1944 Finland was at war with Germany. The German troops on Finnish soil were chased away.

We had to show solidarity with other East-European EU countries. Naturally it has not been a pleasant thing to destroy this Russian tourism to Finland, because in 2019 the Russsians were the biggest foreign tourist group in Finland. If Russia and Finnland go to war again there might not be anything left of Finnland next time! The Finns are finished fools because every time they fall for a war with Russia they loose more and more territory and they still don't learn their lesson! Russia gave Finnland their independence and the soviet union let them go from the russian empire but the Finns are so ungrateful that they always alie with the enemies of Russia even with nazi scum, yet since their independence every time they go to war with Russia they inevitably lose every time!
