Amazing video lady! This video is definitely going to help many new players and people trying to help improve their shooting in CotW. Keep up the amazing work!
great video answered a lot of my questions on aiming out farther than your zero distance. I was shocked that there wasnt more drop of the bullet on some of those shots. thanks
I'm so glad you made a point to say you have to activate the perk! I was* so frustrated because I couldn't figure out how to use zeroing. Perk activated lol
Just started the game and I am level 29. I love the game but the aim wobble is so annoying. As a former Marine sniper I am used to taking shots in the prone position so I don't have to support the weight of my weapon. This totally eliminates wobble. You can prop the weapon on a log or use a small tripod to hold the barrel. In this game, the prone position is a total abortion and you'd just as well take your shots standing up. Any aim wobble at ALL in the prone position is simple unacceptable and unrealistic. I suggest that the developers actually hire some firearms experts to explain to them how these things work. The whole aim of a game like this is to maintain a sense of realism and immersion and this totally breaks it. I also noticed that I was shooting blanks today on a moose at 150 meters with my weapon zero'd at 150 meters. I shot the animal right behind the shoulder and....nothing....didn't even graze it lol. As far as ballistics go... well it's not horrible in most instances but they got a lot wrong too. If you shoot a Moose in the head with a 7MM Remington Magnum, It is going to drop and (most likely) drop instantly. You aren't going to have to track it at all. It's like shooting a gallon of water. Bullets to the head do MASSIVE damage. I once shot a mule deer at 300 yards with a .300 Weatherby Magnum. It was an uphill shot. The animal was lifted 3 feet off of the ground and flipped on his way down. The bullet went in under the right leg and when it came out the other side, there was only a small sliver of skin holding the left leg on. These weapons are FAR more powerful than this game depicts them as being. .300 Magnums blow holes through engines blocks. Flesh is nothing more than a LOL to these massive cartridges. They don't just hit one lung and stop. They come out the other side and leave huge exit wounds and they literally knock the animal on its ass. This is why Safari hunters use .458 and .460 Magnums on Cape Buffalo. The heavier rounds are designed to stop the animal from charging and knock it down. A .300 Magnum COULD kill a Cape Buffalo, sure but, since you aren't going to shoot one of these at 300 meters, you'd be better off using a .460 Magnum, which propels a .500 grain bullet at over 2700 fps. That generates over 8000 ft. lbs. of energy at the muzzle. The .300 is definitely an amazing gun and it gets even more amazing once you pass 300 meters. It is not, however, a weapon that any competent hunter is going to take on safari. Those shots are going to be under 100 meters and you're dealing with animals that would rather kill you than look at you. Stopping them in their tracks is kinda important.
Hi, I know this is an old comment, but do you know why she can hit e while in the scope and see and highlight the animals, when I can only do that with my binoculars. I also can’t see the health estimate. I am on Xbox if that changes anything. Thanks
Can I ask why on your game the other animals around the one you shoot don't scatter after shooting the first shot? Or even if they do I'll notice in your videos they do it slower and give you a chance to take another one down. My game isn't like that, the all scatter quickly, any answers?
A very nice vid. as always. Though, I do feel theres a A VERY important note about the zerooing to clairfy a bit, for the players there´s new to this perk... There´s a 50m. (164ft./54,6yrd.) margin for error, meaning there´s a VERY slight bullet drop within that margin, but it´s pretty much insignificant and unknowtisable. Going anything boyond that margin (in either "direction") is where you begin to feel the bullet drop quite a lot. Additional tip: For some odd reason, if you take a shot without being zoomed in, you just have to hit the general area (i.e. heart), but if you´re zoomed in you have to be way more precise with your shot placemen. Not alot of people knows this, since it´s a kindda learning by doing thing :) But since there´s no "right or wrong" way to play, as long as you´re enjoying yourself, that´s the only "right" way to do i.
wowowowow finally a video actually explaining the method in which this works... with examples that aren't "so here's me, I'm gonna shoot . . . . ok we got it and that's how it's done lol" seriously big game changer!
This game lacks good sights which IMHO should be addressed. The Recital changes with zoom and as know FFP sights are better if you want to hit anything at range. All this buggering about to getting into the zero of your sight just disappears with these sights and makes for a skilful shot. You have to spend quite a long time at the range working out how your combination works but this is rewarded ten fold when you hit bang on target at say 432m or 327m all those odd numbers. Some may not want this but I do also the view from the sights is a joke more akin to an arcade game and as you spend quite a bit of the game looking through your sight I think this has been seriously overlooked by the game developers. Well there you have it my tuppence worth 🙂
Hey I just started playing Call of the Wild and I found this video I just want to say thank you I was having a difficult time on ranging shots and this really helps also questioned why are you carrying over 1000 rounds😂
This was so helpful! I was undershooting and didn't understand why. Your video clarified everything. My father taught me this was "setting your scope" so I never knew what zeroing meant in the game.
Skills are so confusing. Not to mention you can only have 1 active, and you need to press the keybind to activate them. I wonder I can even swap my active skill without paying the ridiculous reset costs… hmm Really nice guide for zero-ing, exactly what I was looking for!

Picked this up for a rifle and am looking forward to putting some metal down range. Once I get it zeroed I'm hoping it stays solid. I have a new mount I'm using with it is well so we'll see what happens. I may have an update after this coming weekend.
Great video thanks for making it. You earned a sub. I do have a question and request. Can you do a video on following tracks please? I do know if I should walk, run or crouch to find animal being tracked. Im total noob and in 32 real hours played I killed only 4 things that I had to follow for a long time. Also if in a blind or stand can you move in them or does it scare away the animals? And if using a caller in them should you be crouched down or is standing good? Thanks
Lady I just wanted to say thank you for all the effort you put into the videos and I know you lose time and we will be there for you when your down and you've helped people trough tough times so thank you
Games way too chintzy on skills & perks. I figure, it's better to practice at the range and know where your shots will land, 6" low at 300 and all the rest practically dead on. There's nothing more frustrating than to miss a diamond b/c in a panic, you forgot to zero your deal!!! I'm testing the range approximation skill/perk to give a rough idea, but it's also kinda useless. Tried the random call thing too, but again, never used. I wish they'd unlock more skills for higher than level 60, seems silly... and expensive changing them for different hunting methods
Hello. Thanks for your video. I learned quite a bit, but I wonder if you would consider making a video on Hunting Sniper, a fun game that is difficult to master, especially the scoping distances and perfect shot ratios. I would like to learn how to score perfect, one-shot kills more consistently.
This guide helped a lot, but I still have to work on my shots. Also I really wished we had another zeroing option between 150m and 300m. I can hit 150s regularly, and 300s with a bit of steadying. But any distance between those, all my shots are off. Ive had multiple golds be downgraded to silver due to not hit vitals between 150 and 300. Or maybe thats entirely a skill issue on my part. Who's to say? The other dots on the Hyperion and Argus are just decorative. Or thats how my performance feels trying to use them. I've heard that each lower dot is a further 20m from where you're zeroed, but all my shots from trying to use those are so far off.
How are you able to ADS "Aim Down Site" without your heart rate going up? With or without holding my breath, if I ADS for to long, I start wobbling all over the place. 8:04.... And i saw your perk and skill video. I use what you use.

It's close enough to 150 that you're fine to zero to 150. Pick the closes zero range and you can adjust your shot slightly if you're directly inbetween ie. 220 meters. zero to 150 and aim a bit high. Yay! That's awesome! Another Canadian!!!
When I press F it doesn’t change anything, I bought the 4-8x42 scope, what do I do?. I’m also using the 7mm express magnum rifle, could this affect it?
I believe that you go to another perk that needs activating and activate another one and it will deactivate zeroing I believe (I've never done it but I think that's how it works)
LAYTON - Killing the two black bears with .270 with quick-KILL mission.... that is immoral, .270 is too small a round to reliably kill, even a front on heart shot with Polymer rounds is dicey. So you end up having to spine shoot black bears - which is sketchy.
