Im having all kinds of trouble with the turn signals not working. Then I realized the guages weren't working either. Thank you for this video, now I know what to look for with the old test light. Hoping all that needs to be done is fix wire ends that are loose
I on the 21st of sep. 2019 bought a 1979 MGB, and I must tell you I’m watching all your episodes your a savior, I hope you continue these episodes. Thank You so much
Thank you for the video. I recently lost my best friend and his widow gave me his 1st car his father bought him a 1977 MGB 4 banger 4 speed with over drive . I believe his father bought the car in England and boated it over here it is a limited edition it has a leaded fuel fill the fuel gauge says unleaded fuel does not have a catalytic converter and does have duel SU carbs . I rebuilt the distributer and both carbs new ignition switch . I got it to run and start every time but there is some thing not right still got the ignition light on the dash and it will stall after a few minutes unless I turn idell speed up to 1000 rpm's . I know I have my work cut out for me . I need to learn more about this car so I will be watching some more
Thanks so much for all you help. You do a wonderful job of showing us the right way to do things. I am going to show my lack of knowledge . Which wires go on which tabs on the relays? The relays beside the fuse box.
Hello John. As a non MGB backyard mechanic of very basic skill level, who has a mid 74 MGB in restorable condition parked in the shed, I really appreciate your TH-cam contribution. I am "gearing up" to start checking and refitting the electrical system as first item of business so this will be helpful. First thing I've done is made sure the engine is not siezed by turning it by hand with fanblade leverage after squirting fogging oil down sparkplug holes. What else before electrical/turnover?
Well it looks like you don't come here any more but I will give this a shot. Everything seems to work but the fuel pump on my car but the pump itself does work. I thought it might be a fuse but from what I saw here it doesn't appear to have it's own fuse. Any suggestions. I am an original owner of a 79 MGB. Would love to get it back on the road. Thanks
i have bought an accuspark electronic ignition and i have a 1980 ballast mgb with no resister just ballast wire...the instructions say wire it to the fusebox(unfused)...or ignition key...so am i right in saying it would be best to wire it to the white wire going into ignition relay????....cheers from england
