The first piece is fantastique/ That was the first vinyl I loved to replay again and again at the age of 5-6 or so in 1971-72. Mom and dad were alive and the life promissed to be happy.
OMG, this is a hidden gem! My mom and dad had this vinyl. I think they bought it some time in 1970s. I loved listening to it. Now it reminds me of my childhood times when both of my parents were live and healthy, days were always happy filled with friends and girls, and my future was still ahead of me full of dreams.
The same story with me. That was the first vinyl I loved to replay again and again at the age of 5 or so. Then I discovered ABBA and later BoneyM, and I became disco-fan))
@@hermann1313 yes, they were great, but the older I get the more I like ABBA more than BoneyM.
You are right, this record is a gem. I have been listening to it often since I was in my teens in Cuba...❤

I'm a professional drummer, weaned on Progressive Rock, adventurous fusion Jazz, and challenging Classical music, and yet I got THIS album tattoo'd into my brain as a kid in the '70s!
In spite of Mauriat's Muzak-y tendencies, his arrangements were always more punchy and memorable than most, and could even be genuinely cool and haunting. I still hear this one in my dreams, and find my brain trying to regurgitate bits of it back at me at the oddest times. Even the hip cover art, with its '20's flapper girl and her unnerving blue-eyed gaze, has been long ago accepted into my subconscious as permanent dream-fodder.
Of all things, too, this album supplied some of my earliest real drumming practice music -- I could cruise along with my middle-school rock beats, trying to catch all the nifty arrangement bits, and settle into good timekeeping with the (very tight and very good) rhythm section of Mauriat's orchestra. In fact, this was actually my first exposure to "Classical Gas", not the original Mason Williams version that the rest of the world is familiar with.
Check out "I gotta get back to loving you" (15:03) if you don't believe an elevator-music orchestra can rock. See what I mean?

Paul Mauriat is the best arranger ever... he gives the new life for all those well-known songs, whether this is The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel or whoever else...

Однажды мой отец (художник)принес эту пластинку ,,навеселе,, ,усадил меня с моей старшей сестрой напротив "RADIOTECHNIKA" и заставил слушать.Это было в 1976году...Пластинку запилили и я запустил ее с балкона 5го этажа на пр. Ленина.
Друзья если хотите воспитать в детях эстетический вкус ,включайте им оркестр ПОЛЯ МОРИА.

я в те времена как раз занимался записью на ленту и кассеты. в те времена у меня было много оркестровок. Но больше всех я слушал пластинки Мориа. Мне было тогда 12 лет.)) До сих пор слушаю его композиции с огромным удовольствием. У Поля был потрясающий вкус и музыкальный слух. Его аранжировки до сих пор не привзайдены. Жаль, что такой музыки больше не будет никогда.. Своего ребенка я то же баловал такой музыкой. Надеюсь не зря. Музыка как и живопись часть современной культуры.

This is one of my favourite Mauriat albums. I had it in Cuba in the mid 70s and it was under a russian label called Melodia... The russians problably stole the tapes from the Uk or France and it was probably an illegal or bootlegged album, but i was glad i was able to have anyways. Happy listening to all!!

Lembra "O amor é Azul". Mas ficou legal. Afinal trata-se de um imortal da música popular orquestral. Os arranjos são bem característicos.

Busqué este tema por muchos años sin saber título. Lo escuché por primera vez en un comercial de televisión a inicios de los años 80's y desde ese entonces lo había estado buscando afanosamente. Gracias por compartir y gracias a TH-cam....!!!

Мама купила этот альбом в 1981 г. в Москве за 2.15 руб.. На красной обложке были изображены: большой фрагмент Эйфелевой башни и несколько вариантов надписи "Оркестр Поля Мориа Франция".
В Уфе брали, за ту же сумму. Рисунок тот же, но синяя обложка) Запилили до смерти!)))) Обожаемая, да на стереосистеме...Не выключали... Все 80е ею расцвечены)))
У меня тоже была эта пластинка . Конверт был тоже с красной обложкой.Очень красивый альбом .
У меня вообще детективная история была с мелодией из этого альбома. Я ее в детстве услышал где-то краем уха, и она у меня годами крутилась в голове, но я никак не мог найти что это за мелодия и откуда. Как-то несколько лет назад я связался с неким каналом на ютубе и насвистел им эту мелодию, и сказал, что по стилю это предположительно Поль Мориа или Джеймз Ласт. Эти ребята раскопали мне эту мелодию. Оказалось, что это "I gotta get back to lovin' you". И к счастью у них был этот винил на продажу, который я у них тут же и купил. До сих пор меня эта мелодия придает сил и оптимизма!
Something like that happened to me many many years ago. I looked everywhere for the song without even knowing what its title was. Until one day and tired of so much searching, i stumbled across the gone is love album at Amazon and when I finally listened to it, I was ecstatic and couldn't believe my ears; I finally had found what I had been looking for for so many years. Thanks Amazon and thanks TH-cam for so much joy! Cheers, fellows...
А у меня до сих пор этот винил с тех времен.)) Конечно на виртушке он звучит ярче и интереснее чем на ютубе. Жаль, что публикуемые здесь звуковые дорожки не приводят в чувства как они должны звучать - ярко и сочно.)
