Finally I found someone who also writes nearly a thousand words for the 350 mark task 2 question 🙏got the LL eassessment tomorrow let's see how it goes
hi, my teacher says that this structure of C&C essay is not effective enough, instead she tells to use the structure where the 1st body is about the similar techniques of both texts, and the 2nd about the different techniques of both textsz. Is your method actually effective?
In language and literature, there is no fixed format for answering the essay question. This format worked for me on multiple occasions, including the final e-assessment. However, if your teacher would like you to do it differently, it would be best to follow that.
"Using one of the images, create a scene in which a character experiences doubt." This was the prompt for one of the previous years' task 2. Does it require us to write a screenplay? Or a descriptive essay?
personally I think it leans more towards the format of a screenplay due to the mention of the word "scene". But it should be entirely acceptable to write a descriptive writing piece. Hope this helps.
Due to the insinuation of the key term, 'scene', it would be more indicative of composing a screenplay. However, this is simply an inclination, as I might not be the most congruous person to provide pivotal information. I hope this solicitous reply assists with your endeavours.
Hey! I was wondering that does IB deduce marks if we exceed the word limit? The paper which I was solving said that the word count should be approximately 350 words but I wrote more than 400 words. Will that be fine?
No, the word count is merely “recommended” and it is mentioned in the IB mark scheme that no marks are deducted whether the word count is higher or lower than the recommended one.
hey, just have a query. in the practice papers, i've noticed that the recommended word count for all these tasks is approximately 350 words. how are we supposed to include all of this, specifically for the compare & contrast, within that amount?
Hii may I know other than the formats of task 2 & task 3 that you provided, are there any other formats in task 2 & task 3 that IB has given before in the previous e-assessments?
The formats mentioned in the video are all I know, but there could be more. There’s no need to worry too much about the exact format. As long as the text type can be determined by the way you organise your writing, there should be no problem.
All my answers were done within the time limit. This is however not an indicator of how much you should write. Note that you can score high marks even while fulfilling the recommended word count. It is the quality of the response that matters.
For a comp/cont essay, does anyone know if we are supposed to seperate the paragraphs based on the text, like BP1 is text 1 and BP2 is text 2, or seperate it based on the literary techniques like BP1 is eg. tone and BP2 is irony.

to be perfectly candid, I think it requires a screenplay because the phrase "using one of the images" depicts that the type of text is a visual text

Hey do you perhaps know from where I can source past papers for the e-assessments?
Unfortunately, you can only obtain them through your school.
i can help you with that

You've gotta compress all of it down a lot. So like your intro max to max can be like 80 words

Hi thanks for the information but not clear
I like the way you interpret😔
