The great irony of this show was that Chiyuki constantly preached about the value of human lives yet finally remembered she threw her life away over something trivial - regardless of how great at figure skating she was she still could've found meaning in other things.
I watched this show as it aired nine years ago and let me tell you.... I was going through an incredibly difficult time and this show LITERALLY saved my life. To this day nothing has topped it and whenever i try to recommend it to people it's so difficult to describe without spoiling. It's not a show you can just put in one box it's so layered and profound and, unfortunately, CRIMINALLY underrated. Thanks for your kind words on it. More people should watch it for sure.
I can relate to what you're saying. This anime definitely changed me. I finished watching the last episode yesterday, and I couldn't sleep all night, I just cried... It touched me so deeply because it felt like a direct message to me and what I'm going through at the moment. It forced me to think and analyze the dark thoughts that I have to deal with on a daily basis. I can't quite explain it properly, but I'm sure you kind of understand since you mentioned the endless amount layers and complexity the anime contains and what it did for you. Hope you're doing well today! And I'm glad to hear this masterpiece helped you too❤️🩹
I initially watched this series like 5 years ago when I first started watching anime, and I just rewatched it recently, and realized how awesome this show really is
Awesome video! Death parade is one of absolute favorite anime I’ve ever watched. I never see enough about it so this video made my day! Cant wait to see more from you
Aye tysm ! I'm glad you liked it, and I'm excited to make more videos like this with a lot of different series or movies ! I still feel like Death Parade is slept on, so i'm glad it's getting some love lol
What a great video. Death Parade has this style which is so hard to describes its sharp and clean. The opening is awesome, the simple clothe design, the voice acting. Everything about this anime is perfect
thank you bro! and i totally agree, the soundtrack is amazing, the color scheme, clothing, character design, voice acting, omg the list goes on, im glad i rewatched it, definitely a series that needs more appreciation
You just get to the point and hit the nail on the head with this overview of the series and I love that! Now I gotta rewatch this series it's been too long!!
love to see that! i was thinking this video is either for somebody who liked the series or didn’t want to watch to watch the whole thing but still wanted to get the idea of it
This guys gets it! I loved the themes of Death Parade and human emotions. My favorite being episode with Shimada and Tatsumi, the wya the ending theme played as the stabbed the checkers with the knife...👌🏿
It's really nice anime.. the more you think about it , the more questions form in your head. Most things / judgements / decisions feels wrong at some point. I think it was more meant for the message to live life and feel your emotions when you are alive , the world isn't fair.
I just finished this anime and really loved it. My son got me into watching anime and we always set aside some time to watch ones that we each find and want to check out together. I found this one and it had us both hooked! Sadly it's only one season. One thing I have noticed so far in anime is be careful of the characters you like because most of the time they end up dying. ESPECIALLY if the character starts talking about future plans and being hopeful on reaching their goals when the situation surrounding them is a nightmare... those characters ALWAYS DIE. 🤣😭 Does anyone have any suggestions for anime that is somewhat like Death Parade, or have a really good storyline? If so, I would appreciate some recommendations, please. 😘
Death note is pretty similar when it comes to the same idea as death parade in which the main character of death note wants to save the world of evil but does it in his own way and starts to receive enemies because they think that killing criminals is just wrong but it really does dive into what the watcher's prospective is when it comes to what is right and wrong for the better of the world. It also has an insane plot.
I enjoyed watching this anime and thought it brought some interesting commentary about judgement. I don't agree that there is no definitive right and wrong. Moral relativism leads in practice to no one feeling like they need to change unless they feel like it. We can still admit that imperfect human beings should not judge because they do not see everything in comparison to God. However, murder and resentment, as one example, are both evil because of the damage it causes to both parties involved. The issue is not that there is no right or wrong. Instead, it is that there are often mitigating circumstances and other factors which only God can see. That is why judgement is best left to God; and it is why Jesus tells us to not judge unless we wish to be judged. We judge the deed itself as wrong but not the hear itself - something left to Heaven. Although the characters in the show were interesting I think they set up the concepts in a way that did not compute. They said that arbiters have no emotion; yet, the red haired arbiter is shown to be impatient, neglectful, indifferent, angry, among other things. Later we find out that arbiters are made up of damned souls which would bring up questions as to how that would lead to no emotion - when earlier they said damned souls only see the negative. Reincarnation is usually a concept that requires all past lives to be taken into account, but here it is not even the one life as a whole - but only a few memories and a decision. There are other inconsistencies, but the point is that I think some of these areas were written in a lazy fashion and could have been developed more. The show did well with the intense action and emotion during the games.

This is such a criminally underrated anime and I love this evaluation. Keep up the good work
totally agree, and thank you !
i haven't watched the video but i think she should've been re-incarnated. why should she be shown the very process that she despised again and again?
i watched this anime when my dad died so it will always have a special place in my heart

You should do an in depth review on Tsuritama if you'd like. I just watched it recently and it is an all-time favourite for me.
