The morning was promising, with the summer sun shining outside and the scent of flowers wafting in from the open window. Despite it being a weekday, the young beauty didn't need to rush anywhere.
Yesterday, Noelle quit her job as an administrator at a fashionable cafe where she had been working for three years. She did so not of her own volition but at the request of her fiancé, the son of the wealthiest entrepreneurs in their town.
Noelle's father was against her decision.
"It's wrong of you, daughter, to not appreciate the work that you had," he said. "If you're not going to work there, then where are you going to go? We don't live in a city, and it's hard to find a good job here. You worked so hard to get this position, and what's next? Are you going to sit at home and depend on your husband's handouts? And here, though you were paid not much money, it was your own money!"
But the daughter reassured her father, saying, "Kevin will figure something out. He'll place me somewhere in their company. I'll be doing paperwork, and I won't be idle. Plus, he doesn't want me to work at the cafe and embarrass his family! Imagine, his father's business partners come over, and I'm there working as a waitress in front of them. They'll be ashamed of me!"
Noelle's father was angry and exclaimed, "You're a foolish girl! You don't understand; they're interfering in your life! And you're not even their daughter-in-law yet. What's next? Will they start counting how many calories you've eaten, for example? What if you get fat and embarrass them? And by the way, your father is a former prisoner. They certainly won't want to let me in as their son's father-in-law. But sorry, I can't change who I am and erase that shameful stain from my life! Don't count your chickens before they're hatched. We don't even know how they earned their wealth! It's impossible to buy a house in Spain with a factory salary. Remember, daughter, if something has arrived, it means somewhere has departed. An old and immutable truth!"
"Oh, that's it. I can't talk about your philosophy too much!" Noelle kissed her father on the forehead and left the house. She had a lot to prepare for the wedding because it was not far off.
Noelle stepped out into the sunny day. The girl was at that beautiful age when everything around her seemed cheerful and was painted in bright colors. Noelle grew up as a sociable, kind girl, despite never knowing a mother's love. Her mother died in childbirth without having time to legalize her relationship with Noelle's father because he got into prison. So the girl only met him in person at the age of 10. Since then, Michael has tried to protect his daughter from all the vicissitudes of fate, fending off any troubles from her.
After talking to her father, Noelle went to the most prestigious wedding dress salon. She picked out several beautiful options that were brought to her in the fitting room. This bridal salon was considered the most luxurious in the city, so the fitting room was like a big room with a comfortable couch, a table, and a small podium with tall mirrors nearby. This way, the bride could see herself from all angles.
And while Noelle was trying on another dress and admiring herself in the mirror, she unwillingly overheard two young saleswomen talking behind closed doors. They didn't choose words with their dialogue, as they didn't think anyone was there.

Just because a family has money, it does not follow that they have any honor! The son is a reflection of the parents. I sure wouldn’t want to do business with the father particularly!!

Lovely story
Three important lessons to learn from this.
First and foremost, never humiliate someone on their wedding day, as while it may not only ruin their day it will most certainly ruin your future life.
Second if you are uncertain about a decision, don’t make a huge spectacle on reversing it. For it may come to haunt you afterwards.
And lastly, never judge someone for their backgrounds. For they just may have connections that you will never believe in.
That being said; Kevin was an indecisive man that was not only spoiled, but tried to please everyone else but himself and ended up with literally nothing but heart aches. I am also glad that Noelle got the ending and happiness she deserved.

Administrator in a cafe is a richy neuvo rich Bourgeois way of saying management 😂...and just because someone was a convict don't make them bad folk my cousin she went to a prison a crackhead and came out a Christian and sober shes now a wife and mother and studying to be a drug counselor and my bio dad's an ex convict and hes been out of prison and been sober over 20 years..not everyone whos been in the bighouse are bad... everyone deserves a second chance 😊

The narrator’s beautiful voice makes up for this silly story. It’s so far fetched in places and incredibly predictable in others. Had it not been for the narrator I would have stopped listening after a few minutes.
