Grew up in Ashington living in Michigan now, haven't been 'home' for while but love the content. Brings back all sorts of memories especially this one Druridge was our beach as kiddies and I couldn't help noticing you're in what my wife calls the polar night. Much colder here in MI - the waters stiff now - but the sun stays higher in the sky! Thanks for sharing.

isn't it funny how our tastes and styles change? seemingly almost overnight but it's gradual. it's a good thing. makes it easier to get rid of the old gear! lol. nice move at the end... not sure what it's called :P nice one bud, love the sunrise, spot looks nice. I wish you an awesome weekend ahead!

Your Veloce H XL could be pretty good to start downwinding. I would start with flagging the wing first and go downwind a good amount to learn reading the bumps. Then you can share a wing with an anchor leash with a buddy to take turns downwinding without wing. Once you are very good at reading the bumps you can give the paddle a go with a really long board (8' or more). The Veloce H XL may be big enough. I just ordered the Veloce H L to downwind with foil drive.

@windaddict yes I can usually flag for a minute or 2 when the bumps align on the v3 veloce xl h, but it has to be 3 to 4 feet . We get a lot of 2 to 3ft days, and it makes a little harder. I can read bumps quite well now, but I need to work on my pump but improving. We haven't had many days to practice last few months has been flatwater on my days off. I will keep trying with foils I have until I improve thaen hopefully I will know what to buy .
Thanks for watching commenting and the ongoing support it's appreciated 👏

Hello chris there bunch of new gong foil that comming, for speed the faster are the ypra, but veloce should be easy speed. Curve are easy mania foil but for me they are not energic enough, they feel slow not challenging . I heard a lot and lots of good review on the fluid v3.

@youdigsurf yes I have had a v2 curve. Not enough glide for me had the v2 fluid and curve h and veloce . The new veloce v3 is really good for low end, so it might go for a medium size for the fast foil or maybe v3 fluid in medium ,not sure yet, tho .
I'm just going to use the ypra for now .
Thanks, mate. hope you're well and happy new year

@jcrean853 The v3 veloce is so much better in glide maneuverability and the low stall speed is amazing. I hope you enjoy it as much as me .

@michielfermie6222 haha it's all good 👍 I believe we have to challenge our own learning , I really found that my favourite curve xlh a little to easy and now I just love the playfulness of the veloce v3 so it was time to say goodbye to the curve and it's gone to a local guy who will love it 😀
      Thanks for watching 👀 🙂
