7 year old Angelica Hale had the honor of singing the National Anthem at the 2014 Duluth Fall Festival (Georgia). She did quite well considering she had to overcome a serious technical challenge. The track started 10 seconds into the song and she had to adjust and correct for this on the fly! Not bad for a 7 year old!!! I think we've all seen enough videos of professional singers goofing up our National Anthem and without having to deal with this sort of adversity. Very impressive Angelica…way to roll with the punches and give everyone an awesome performance!
Thanks to the wonderful city of Duluth, Georgia for allowing us to participate in their Fall Festival in such an awesome way! It was so nice to see the community gather and celebrate. Also, what a treat it was to see the 100+ soldiers from Fort Benning, Georgia participate in the Festival! Love to honor our troops!!! Georgia congressman Rob Woodall was also up on stage, as were a number of other special guests.
Very emotional seeing Amy Copeland up there as well. For those of you who don't know her story, it is an incredible one for sure. Just after Angelica wrapped up her 80 day stay in the hospital, Amy Copeland suffered through the after affects of a horrible zip-lining accident. I will put a link here in case you all want to read more about her…I shudder to think of all she's been through. What an inspiration!
