Ahhh, one of my all time favs from back then, and still one of my favs today too. ^^
This one went through a few tweaks since way back. For one, I actually took the pitch down a bit to make it more comfortable for my voice. Also, Josh had sent me a few notes about the lyrics, one about pronouncing a certain word, which I had never pronounced correctly way back then. Also did a couple of other tweaks too.

Ouch. The lyrics of this song feel SO BAD knowing what happened then. It perfectly describes Luffy's feelings during MarineFord arc... and it hurts. Badly.

Ironically I had a significant loss from my life when I got to this part of one piece. Not like a death but very suddenly I had my life uprooted when someone I didn't want to be taken from me did and this song kinda at the same time reminds me of what happened with ace and with said person. It's just such a good song

I’ll start crying in a corner again
For me this song hits twice as hard honestly. In January of this year I was just getting to this part of one piece at the same time I had a significant loss in my life. No one died, but I had to part ways with someone I was very close to and this song just reminds me of it, and what happened to ace and how I felt at the time all over again. It's just such a powerless feeling haven someone taken from your life so suddenly with no warning, its traumatic, but I got help after it and I'm making a new path forward for myself now. No matter what happens there's always a way to go on. Sometimes I listen to this song again and just remanence about it all. Take care of yourselves guys.
I loved this one back in the day, and I love this one even more now. Great job, Dave!!

And he made it, he be himself again because he have nakamas to waiting for him. I love this cover.

Love it! One of my fav. Openings if not the Number 1 in my list, as soon as i hear it I must remember the Marineford Arc which is also still my Fav. Arc in One Piece (the setting about the rescue of Ace and the Whitebeard Pirates was so epic back then)
I still place Hard Knock Days and Brand New World above it, but it's definitely up there.
