I used a Pasta Machine dedicated to Polymer Clay use to create blends and condition the clay. If you do not have a pasta machine, you can condition the clay by hand, by cutting it into slices, and then rolling the clay in your hands until it becomes soft and malleable. If you want to create sheets of clay, roll the clay between two even stacks of playing cards to get an even thickness in your sheet of clay. Settings 9 and 8 on my machine are 1 playing card thickness (0.15 and 0.25mm), setting 7 and 6 are 2 cards thick (0.33 and 0.5mm), setting 5 is 3 cards (0.75mm), setting 4, 4 cards (1mm), setting 3 is 5 cards (1.5mm), setting 2 is 6 cards (2mm), setting 1 is 7 cards (2.25mm) and setting 0 is 8 cards (2.5mm) thickness.🙂

This is such an informative tutorial (truthfully every tutorial of yours that I have watched have been excellent) I particularly like the fact that you give alternative ideas for anyone who might not have the same tools that you do. Another point that you make is that not all canes will look the same and that is so true. I could follow any cane tutorial step by step down to same colors and polymer clay and my cane will turn out differently. Thank you. I do learn quite a lot and, frankly, it gives me confidence to keep experimenting.

Thank you for this great video! May I request that you show the process of putting the clay through the pasta machine? 🙏 I m not that good at imagining!

Thanks so much, If you look at the two videos I mention in this one, the conditioning clay and Skinner Blend ones, they both show me using the pasta machine. I do also show it in some of the other tutiruals I do, but don't do it all the time as the vast majority of people who follow my tutorials know how to do that part. But thanks so much for your feedback, I will do another one soon where I show it again, for those who haven't yet seen it 🙂

Patch pocket was a good choice, but if I had a little see -thru fabric left, I would have put the see-thru on top of the blue patch pocket. This would make the pocket a highlight of the whole design.😂 Keep going girl it slowly gets easier.

I am sure yours is beautiful, and of course it shouldn't look exactly like mine as every cane will be different. Remember we are all our own worst critics, and that if you show your cane to someone else they will probably go 'wow' and be so impressed by what you have created. I am glad you enjoyed the video 🙂
