Doubt that I will see this movie in a theater, but I really enjoyed the "adorable" debate between Christy and Alonso. Thanks guys for making me smile.

Saw this tonight, it was cute but I learn more towards Alonso’s view on it. Either way thanks for recommending

Haha, Alonso, I get what he's saying, I still might want to see this given all the blargh in the world right now. And not generalizing, but it'll probably help even out the action romps I've dragged my wife to lately. (Who am I kidding, as a father of 2 daughters I'll probably be mush the whole damn movie.)

I'm with both of them on this one. "Sweetsy" is an accurate description. I was charmed and delighted by it, but it's not that memorable. Definitely feels like a John Carney movie. It's still an improvement over the director's last movie, which I didn't care for at all. The main song "Hearts Beat Loud" has been stuck in my head all day.

I think what Alonso meant was that the story is most relatable to Anglo folk bc it closely reflects the Anglo experience.

How people can complain about this being unrealistic and rave about Sing Street is beyond me. I enjoyed Sing Street a decent amount, but I think Hearts Beat Loud is a superior film. Not as good as Once though.

I saw the movie last night, and I'm liking it less as I keep thinking about it. There are a bunch of story elements that aren't fully resolved, and yeah, the film is in a pretty unrealistic version of Brooklyn. I enjoyed it, but it's not without its flaws. Completely get where both are coming from, though I lean more towards Alonso's side of thinking.

Alonso was pretty much right about this. I liked Nick Offerman and the rest of the cast, but I didn’t like Kiersey Clemons much in this. Her voice just wasn’t quite up to the task.

Even if you negatively compare this movie to Once & Sing Street, I'm onboard. Seeing the trailer, I want to watch this. Once, Sing Street & Room are the best movies I've seen since 2000. If I can get good vibes from a movie without it being typical Hollywood, I will be satisfied.

John carney is a shit person. He is no better than this movie. I understand why people hate Alonso after seeing this. I loved this film.

This movie was fantastic, 92% on RT. Alonso has some weird social impairment in his brain, these characters were completely believable.

Content Advisory:. This film contains scenes of Lesbian behavior. They also promote the notion that smokers should have the right to pollute the air of the majority. Be advised on these political themes. If they are out of line with your thinking, consider not attending this film.
