Vikings don't count for too much from my experience...I've done it with and without and tracked my score. It's a waste of time for Monster Kill event (but not for rewards obviously). My max score in a monster kill event is over 182M as K27 using 4 marches. Those points are all from commons - I killed over 1540 commons that event. I've seen someone exceed my max (220M) but he was a K35 with 6 marches. One thing too is that commons are more efficient from a stamina perspective. You can kill 3 commons for 18 stamina while a killing a similar score boss for 20. Those 2 points may not seem like much but it adds up when you are using over 5000 stamina like I have for a monster kill. Anyway, if we get monster kill while Vikings are active, I'll have to test out the rally points but quite frankly if I have to wait 5 minutes to get 208k points, I've already lost. The important part of Monster Kill for me is the rate...I actually don't care what I kill, but I need a fast continuous rate. If I have to do rallies for that, it won't work.

But there are alot of questions - you are doing these on hard - what points are received for weaker vikings? Are they less? What rate will those viking rallies occur for a whole kill event? Will everyone in the rally receive the same points? We experimented with rallying bosses and vikings some time ago and found that rally riders receive far less points than the rally leader - around 30% or so. For Monster Kill events, we just didn't get the return ratio of points vs time for rallies that we got with individuals killing lots of commons. Anyway, not trying to be confrontational but we have a different experience about this. :)

I always feel that monster kill is the most fair because small monarchs have a chance to get in the top ten. None of the other contest lend themselves to small players being able to make it to the top 10.
As someone else mentioned, the point chart shown during SvS is incorrect. The points shown are for normal monsters; Boss monsters are worth twice the amount of points shown (e.g., B17 Typhon is 168,000 points). Viking points are due to programming oversight. Vikings aren't supposed to give you points. That's why if you kill one solo, you get 0 points. However, if you use a poleaxe and rally a Viking, it now goes through the Alliance War mechanic, and every monster through that mechanic is treated as a "Boss" monster. Since they are treated as "Boss" monsters via a rally, their points are based on the Boss monster points (i.e., 2x the point amount for the equivalent normal monster). Difficulty doesn't matter, since it's based purely on level (you'll notice a B5 Werewolf gives the same points as a B5 Witch, etc., despite the massive power differences). Also, you'll only get points up to a level 40 Viking, since there are no level 41 and above normal monsters. If you're idly sitting in a 5-minute rally, normal monsters are still better. The key is if your alliance has a system that allows you to only sit idle for a minute or two, with a steady stream of Viking rallies. Simple rough test with mine got me over 100 million score with nothing but Vikings (no teleporting around, and still able to get all the gold). A well-tuned alliance could dominate a scoreboard.
In my Alliance experience we only received points up to level 40 in the Monarch Event when it coincides with Vikings. It is still great points though and the boxes are better still in my opinion.

Not quite right... Bosses of the same level as the common monster would give double the points. It just doesn't state so on the SVS scoring. With your example of common monster 18 (88,000) vs B17 typhon (84,000), the B17 would actually give you 168,000. Viking rallies count as a "Boss" so a Viking 22 counts as a "B22", and gives 2x104,000 points. Viking 41 and above don't give points though....
Just letting you know, I killed a Lvl36 viking solo and scored over 300k points...! There must be a 0 points cut of somewhere between lvl24 and lvl36.. interesting..!

It takes too long to win with just vikings. You're better off soloing monsters above level 30. By the time you hit 6 vikings, hitting monster over 30 will get you way more points.

I think the people that get 200m are wasting stamina...yesterday I got 92m from strictly rallies, I finishd 3rd, the two above me floated around the map killing small monsters...burned 10s of 1000s of stamina for a few gems in the monarch event.

When rallied they do? If we aren’t doing Vikings on monster kill day our score is way down but I’ll double check
