Oh man... As a GT kid, this game blew me away with its sound. The exhaust pops when you let off the gas, the red lines, the brake squeal... Best sounding racing game of the period.
Thank you for showcasing Enthusia! I grew up with GT4 and this game, but I always felt a little more attachment to Enthusia. It never got the praise it deserved.
The lighting looks like GT2, the car models look like GT4 or better, and the sounds are much better than anything PD has to offer, except GT Sport. The physics look similar to GT3. This could have actually been a really good game if it was developed more.

The main problem with GT4's physics is that I don't think they tested it as lower speeds. When you're blasting through the track at a normal racing pace, everything works. But when you drop to a low speed, the car defaults to understeer even in RWD cars, making donuts and low speed drifts impossible. I also found out that the understeer and oversteer management interfere with the overall handling. Both off defaults to understeer for all cars and turning up the understeer will make the car rotate easier but still not at low speeds.
It was. I actually like the physics and the car sounds in this one more than GT4's but GT4 outshines it in pretty much everything else. Still, Enthusia is a better racing game than Forza Motorsport in my opinion.
Still the best sound 787B in any game to this day, IMO. Love to drive it on the game. Enthusia was a fantastic game, I love it... Konami really deserves to be beaten up for not investing in this franchise.

GT4's 787B '91 had some rebadging errors in places, but ENTHUSIA's 787B (Race Car) is a faithful reproduction of the actual restored version. Although it is not as good as GT7's Le Mans specification, ENTHUSIA should be praised for its high level of attention to detail.
Can you imagine going down to the San Francisco embarcadero and seeing the 787B shriek by, catch air up broadway and then power slide around the next corner while pummeling the rev limiter?
This game and Sega GT 2002 are criminally underrated. Don't get me wrong, I love Gran Turismo, but they monopolized the racing genre until Forza released on the original Xbox.

No idea that there was a game that looked similar to Grand Tourismo 4 and its called Enthusia Professional Racing. This game has some brutal sounds though.
Some said it have better physics than GT4 some think it was inconsistent and a bit of a mess. To me it felt as if it was made to play with wheels but was not optimized for normal controller at all,rear wheel drive cars are very sluggish like a tank at turn in but when it starts to slide oh boy it was very difficult to get it back felt like I have I'm constantly over correct the steering all the time and with muted feedback both visual and controller wise it was a nightmare. This was like the only game that I had to mess with suspension settings just to make it drivable on LV1 cars. My theory was that this game was meant to be something completely different until execs at Konami want the dev team to make a game that take on Gran Turismo 4 so they had to start over again and kinda rushed the game to beat GT4 or just try to get a share of that big sales number from GT4. Cue the opening FMV that ended on a cliffhanger for example they introduced a female photojournalist character that have a bit of story in it yet we never heard anything from her again I mean that's not a sign of a rushed incomplete game then I don't know what is.

I love this game! I like it more than GT3 and GT4, although it has some issues (some cars controls worse than they should, career is confusing, and cars unlocked in career don't transfer to quick race). Amazing physics engine, nice tracks (not as good as gran turismo though), very good car selection. In 6 gen racing - sim genre i would rate it second after forza motorsport (and followed by gt4 and gt3)
The opening FMV that introduced female character with a backstory suggested that Enthusia was meant to be a completely different kind of racing game and not being the straight up sim like GT4 but with even less heart put into it. "We probably can't beat PD so we just going to outdid their driving physics so advanced you drive like a drunk on ice with Dualshock 2.
Racing games used to have fantastic menu music and menu sound effects. What the hell happened? Update: Oh my god the brake squeaking and that engine sound! This sounds so much better than GT3 and GT4!!

My favourite PS2 era racing game.
I had a logitech gtforce2 or something like that and the wheel control was really stiff, always felt like this was made for controllers.
