Hi again, there are 2 WW2 wrecks on the Cheviot itself, the B17 is near the crags you mention east of the Pennine way before the trail descends to the Gurka Hut,
the Wellington wreck is east of the trail junction where the pennine way goes north and a broadwalk goes east to the summit trig point,

hi,the bike is a surly pugsley, surly make the frameset, wheel rims and tyres, rest is normal bike parts, made for riding snow but also good on soft peat and sand whichis what i bought it for,low pressure tyres provide floatation like a quad bike does, amazing bike to ride and dosnt cut up the ground much-in fact on sand it makes less of an imprint than a human footprint!

hi,no its the other WW2 wreck just north of the wooden path to the summit cairn,a walking book said its a `bolton paul defiant` but a retierd airtraffic controller who`s apilot too saw the film and says its a wellington wreck, can tell by the radial engines,i should have went over to the B17 too but was pressed for time to ride deer street too, maybe another day and film for it!!,thanks

@coastkid71 seems some books say this is a wellington wreck and others a Vickers Warwick, i didnt film at the B17 wreck that day so not sure about the nose cone? could it be from a Vickers Warwick?. it was reported to crash here in 1946, 3 boys discovered the wreck and 3 bodies a week after it was reported missing
