Railfanning Garfield, New Jersey 3/28/2015

This video was shot at 4 different crossings in Garfield NJ
Since it was a nice day, i decided to head out to Garfield to do a little railfanning.
It was a good day too, 6 trains between 2 and 4 pm. Not only did i catch the 6 trains, i also caught a crossing malfunction and a semi-crossing reset.
Crossing #1 (Midland Ave)
Crossing Info:
Signal on Left: 2 pairs of Safetran lights. A Safetran Gate motor and a Safetran mechanical bell.
Signal on Right: 2 pairs of Safetran lights. A Safetran Gate motor and a Safetran mechanical bell.
Both pedestrian gates have a Safetran gate motor.

Crossing #2 (Outwater Lane)
Signal on Right: 2 pairs of Safetran LED lights. A Safetran hybrid mechanical bell and a Safetran gate motor.
Signal on Left: 2 pairs of Safetran LED lights. A Safetran hybrid mechanical bell and a Safetran gate motor
Both Pedestrian gates have Safetran Gate Motors too.

Crossing #3 (VanWinkle Ave)
Signal on right: 3 pairs of Safetran 12X24 inch Lights. A Safetran Gate Motor and a Safetran Hybrid Mechanical bell.
Signal on Left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12X24 inch Lights. A Safetran Gate Motor and a Safetran Hybrid Mechanical bell.
Both pedestrain gates have a Safetran Gate Motor
The pedestrian signal on the right also has a Safetran Amber 8 inch light with a black out signal that reads "No Left Turn" when the signals are active.

Crossing #4 (Monroe Steet)
Signal #1 (gated signal on left): 2 pairs of Safetan 12x24 inch lights, a Safetan gate mechanism and a Safetan Mechanical bell
Signal #2 (gate signal on right): 2 pairs of Safetan 12x24 inch lights, a US&S (union switch and signal) gate mechanism and a Safetan Mechanical bell
Signal #3 (mast signal on right): 2 pairs of Safetan 12x24 inch lights.
Both pedestrain signals have Safetan gate motors, while the one on the left has 1 Safetran 8 inch amber light a WC Hayes blackout light which flashes "No Left Turn" when the crossing is active.
All these crossings are located on NJ Transit's Bergen County line

There used to be a Guldens mustard factory , or warehouse behind that billboard sign on the left. I can't believe they put up apartments right there next to the tracks!
Always was a mix of industrial,and junk yards . What a dump!

Just curious, are these strictly commuter rail, or do freight trains go through those intersections also?

Freight does too, only a few locals and 1 long one, about 98% of the traffic is commuter rail
