aau is saving a lot of kids lives and the exposure to the entire country is deeper than basketball.. it's a few bad apples but mostly stand up guys

As a former aau player and current college player, AAU is amazing BUT it really depends on the program you played in. Some programs like the one I played in had a coach that had a system and really coached, some just stack teams up and just throw 5 on the court

I played on the team that had the fight with dc assault in Vegas .. they made us change our uniforms before the game cause our colors were similar .. we lost by like 8 and after the game a dude on my team says y’all overrated ! I forgot the guard name but he straight knocks out a forward on my team .. i immediately grab a chair and realize they all chained up ... outside the gym we see dc assault walking by ...demarr Johnson was ice grilling all of us with his arms around the guard on his team ...lol

AAU hoops is good for kids depending on the organization. The one I grew up in in Austin wasn't really an AAU team because we were kids that came from the same area and grew up with each other at the same recreation center and just played whenever we could afford the tournaments but we played and beat a lot of AAU teams. Seems like now they going out to recruit kids outside their city and paying for their gear just to win some trophies. The ranking needs to stop because most of the kids get full of themselves and end up not even making the grades in school

great video funny how there not a lot of comments or views i been around aau for 5yrs now i always felt these players should be learning the game of basketball but its all about ranking and highlight . man many aau programs are running parents away to a more local simple program instead of this me me me me me me players and players parents that think their child is the bes thing that touch the court . but overall great video

Sure, basketball might be a way out of poverty and violence for a lot of guys, but AAU has gone way out of hand. Ranking seven year old kids is criminal. Putting pressure on them to make money as soon as possible, taking away the love for playing the greatest game ever. The agents, the coaches, the parents, the shoe companies, they are all child abusers and pimps in a way. Only focussed on making big money. Good documentary.

    • @ballardkid1
      @ballardkid1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Would you prefer it be like overseas where they take kids from their families and raise them in strict basketball academies? Only thing they do is eat, workout and play basketball overseas. Kids have been getting ranked at young ages, it's just now with the internet being such a huge hit, news get spread around faster and easier to access. If you think people weren't rankings kids at a young age, you're mistaking and kidding yourself.

Yet those scouts, agents and coaches are too scared to roll the dice on advanced, grown men playing in Special Olympics, who can academically and physically vouch for themselves.

Give these players with dedication, talent, and scholarships a piece of this multiple billion dollar industry. Meal plans...disgusting, living; facilities...cramp; transportation...irrelevant. All the while having designated classes scheduled around your scholarship which the money can be found (grants etc.) with way less dedication and less restrictions.

He was a good dude it's a shame that cause of the street hustle part that all the good he did is being overshadowed by the drug charges. Regardless of the drug stuff he was a father figure to them guys and helped a lot of people and he seemed to be a great guy not just some heartless dude that made money and hurt people . There are not many people in high positions that don't got some dirt on they hands or a questionable past there is a lot of dirty money finding things . Free Curtis Malone let him get back to helping the kids and making the community better by locking him up it ain't make drugs disappear or stop the deaths or drug problems let him go free so he can make a difference. They probably got him cause he was such a good guy and was helping the young men instead of doing wrong by them he guided them in the right path he didn't have them strung out on drugs or dealing let that man be.

    That's part of the problem.
Our people and community find every kinda way to make excuses for shit.
    Blaming everything on NCAA
It helped some kids get exposure but lots of other consequences

Everyone in this Doc. raggin on Capitalism....can anyone tell me a better economic system or way to organize a society? Marxism? Socialism? Communism? Theocracy? Monarchy? The first three have all been tried and proven to fail, every time. Do you want a religion to rule our everyday life? No, then Theocracy is out. Do you a king or Queen to have supreme rule? No, then Monarchy is out.
If you can think of another way, let me know.

AAU use to be elite. Now it is saturated nonsense. Kids have coaches who can't coach. Anyone can make a team and say they are running AAU. High School Basketball is unfortunately hurt by it. It is a joke for the most part. The other issues is the fact that these growing kids do not rest their bodies and a lot of them end up with foot and knee problems. How the hell is it cool to play 30 plus games over two months that is over kill.

I don't blame the players. I blame these leeches. Telling us that they are father figures, mentor, ect... using words they can't spell or understand. How many illegitimate children do they have? The only person with integrity [ Gary Williams] they try to make sound like a jerk.

    • @EBJ0424

Keep your bullshit to yourself. Talking about having illegitimate kids and their use of words. Gary Williams, the NCAA, and any other coach don't give a fuck about the kids.
