His world record is insane. It has 1365 points according to world athletics, which is the highest of any male WRs. That is equivalent to running the 100m in 9.55 sec!!!

I still watch this video after throwing back in 1979. Just love it. it's in my favorites. I did the back step and only threw 204 ft. He did the cross over which I could not do. The best women throw like i did. I could throw 180 feet with 2 steps. This Jan guy has enspired me as a grand fathers to teach my grandsons and daughters to go 300 feet as well like Jan. Just love this video and thanks.

Poetry in motion - bit like Johnathon Edwards... just so much better than the rest, head and shoulders above. His technique is absolute poetry in motion! It’s about, balance, zen, a clear mind and...practise, practise, practise.

Neeraj uses a different technique. I am astonished how Jan Zelezný threw 90+ with much ease. True Legend. Even Neeraj says that he was expecting a Silver in Tokyo 2020 as there was another legend present - J Vetter.

@@ankitvashishth6595 Javelin weight got increased and shape also got changed so that flat landing can be avoided(By shifting the center of gravity). So its not that current champions are not as gr8 as the 80s athletes. If the current athletes were to use the same javelin they might even break their record. Another reason is as the competition was inc. so they thought if this continues then we would need bigger area, bigger stadium as ppl were able to throw beyond 100 meters.

No doubt Jan was a rockstaa..but back then dimensions of javelin were a little different it helped throwers a bit now the centre of mass of javelin has been modified a little to provide safety to high jumpers .
So throwing this humongous a throw is now not having any help from the javelin itself.
The point is I believe vetter is the greatest of all as of now.
