    Nice review! That looks like my MDX. Same color, tech pkg, 2022. First review I have seen that shows why the UI for infotainment makes perfect sense. No need to reach out to the screen. Very intuitive and convenient. Double wishbone suspension rocks btw. I usually drive it normal and switch to sport for twists and turns. My average mpg is 23 for 20k miles so far. 80% highway, 93 octane.

    I pulled the trigger last week on the MDX. Initially, from browsing on the both websites, my intent was to get the Q60. Both my wife and I agreed, we liked its luxury look in and out, but when we went to both dealers, sitting inside the vehicles changed our perspective. The Q60 STILL looked great on the outside, but when we stepped inside the difference was night and day. What is boils down to was personal choice. We first went to Acura and we felt like a pilot behind the controls. We had no issues with the touchpad...it felt totally natural leaning back and navigating the screen. Then we went to Infiniti....the exterior still looked fantastic, but then we stepped inside...we both looked at each other and knew instantly that the Q60 wouldn't be for us. We just didn't get that huggy cockpit feeling...and I am a buttons and lights kind of person. Both cars looked great, but the MDX was more our taste even though its exterior wasn'tas luxurious looking. But it had enough style and atheletic look to satisfy us. So we returned and made our deal with Acura.

    • @s.patterson5698

      @Dawn King I share that sentiment about every vehicle. They are all overpriced hunks of fiberglass, and the moment you drive off the lot, you discover how much overpriced they all are. You just have to find the vehicle you want that you can afford. If it has the features important to you and the design that's your speed, and you can afford it...then...I say buy it. You only live once, and what's the point of leaving money around for inflation to eat away or for Wall Street to steal. I say be smart and have a 20 year nest egg put aside that allows you to live and travel comfortably if you aren't working...then buy whatever you want with the rest of your money because if you don't spend it the government sure will. That's my motto, to live below my means. So I don't buy or invest in anything I can't afford to lose the next day. These vehicles aren't worth more than $40,000.00, so you are absolutely correct!!!

    • @sivryn1
      @sivryn1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our experience was exactly the opposite,. We thought the MDX looked better but had terrible infotainment. The qx60 was much better both on the touchscreen and dial. The console is more luxurious and better laid out. The only thing we liked better on the MDX was the removable middle seat.

    • @s.patterson5698
      @s.patterson5698 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @sivryn1 And therein lies the reason for why both these vehicles exist...to give choices that appeal to our varied tastes. Imagine if we didn't have options? I guess we wouldn't know any different, right? 😀 Glad you are happy with the QX60!!

    I just test drove the MDX today and the Lexus RX 350 hybrid.
    The MDX felt like you were in a cockpit, and it was fun to drive. But the engine sounded loud to me.
    I am very concerned about the MPG, plus the premium gasoline. But i love how roomy it feels in the back seat and all that potential cargo space to load up at HomeGoods😂
    The Lexus display screen is large and touchscreen, where MDX is not. That seems to be a big point of contention in the comments.
    I love the fact that it is a hybrid and the MPG.

    I just bought a 2023 MDX tech package 2 months ago. Love the car for the most part. 2 things I dislike are the lack of touch screen. The touch pad is fine as a 1:1 true touch for all acura functions but it is not 1:1 true touch for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto which is extremely annoying and they don't tell you this before the fact. You have to swipe each time on every button on Apple CarPlay which can get very distracting while driving. The 2nd thing I dislike is the fuel economy is not as it says. I have been driving in comfort mode in the city and get between 14-17 MPG only. I have never reached 19 in the city despite keeping auto start/stop on and driving normally. It does improve on the highway but I have not taken it long distance yet. Otherwise it is a beautiful car and practical/family friendly.

    Love Raiti's Rides. Joe has a background in racing so I trust his ride and handling opinions more than some other reviewers. After watching lots of reviews across different brands I've come to this conclusion. Every manufacturer requires its designers to come up with at least a few things people will hate in their car designs. Acura has done it with the track pad and the gloss black in the interior and the black wheel well cladding. Infiniti also has gloss black and they had to put those hideous fake exhaust/skid plates on the rear of the QX60. Try to find one manufacturer who doesn't put some "wtf" design elements in their models.

      He zonks every design detail he doesn't like. I understand the obvious fake vents on the front of vehicles, but he zonks a rear "fake vent". Those are just a design theme and not even meant to be venting for it to be fake. They would look dumb as flat black as he would prefer. He also zonks the rear wipers that aren't "tucked under" the spoiler. A wiper coming down from the top doesn't clear the window very well to allow for proper and decent visibility. In this case, function is more important than design. He zonks them every time anyways.

    Mazda CX9 Signature is just as nice and has a nicer dash and features! Crazy how Mazda made this formula back in 2016! All these Japanese automakers are using the CX9 as their benchmark. The middle center seat removal is very cool though!

    Enjoy your reviews and sense of humor! Drove this today. Materials/fit and finish are really nice! A little less space than pilot, and slightly fewer features for 5k more but nicer on the inside. Seems like a Pilot Touring in terms of features, slightly smaller, but much nicer. Space, features, and 💵 or nicer interior? Does the tech package have a spare tire?

    I've had the 22 MDX tech for 1.5 yrs, absolutely not bulletproof for reliability. Major electrical harness system issues corrosion, steering wheel column issue with motor, I haven't driven mine for 3 months. Not bulletproof

    Love that blue....But it's missing so many features for a Luxury vehicle....Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy has heated/cooled front AND rear seats. Integrated 12 inch in-dash touch screen. HUD. 110v plug for the rear seats. USBs in 3rd row. An actual usable 3rd row for adults. Napa leather seats. $5-10k more for Acura. I'm a Honda fan....but for this to be next level, this ain't it. Always enjoy your reviews...Great Work !!!

      I've been eyeing a QX60 in the moonbow blue but, like Acura and so many other manufacturers, they play the combo games where you can only get certain interior/exterior color combinations in different packages which really is annoying. Hard to find my preferred combos amongst them.
