Sandro Tyr Warrick thanks for watching! I used acetone before the glue up because I'd heard ebony was oily and didn't take glue well, it's not a bad idea, but I no longer do this when I glue ebony and it still works for. And yes I used CA as the finish.
What thickness do you tend to make your rings so they are not to brittle
Generally I shoot for 2-3mm sidewall thickness

Some woods have oils that could affect the adhesion of the glue.
