Does it automatically turn off once you turn off your car or does it stay on? Also, does it retain the settings (clock and such) if disconnected from the power supply?
Comparing the speed that the module says with the speed that the car speedometer shows is meaningless. You should check out the legal requirements for how vehicle manufacturers calibrate speedometers. The GPS one will be more accurate.

I bought it too, it shows more than normal car speed. I definitely do not recommend it.
You can adjust it. In the manual explains how to do it.
