Kids little mermaid movie. Children have no issues with trailer or movie. Children trailer reactions are so adorable. Children are so excited about seeing this movie. It's some of the adults whining and having issues with trailer and movie.

I'm really looking forward to this movie. I'm not comparing it to other movies set in the ocean with underwater scenes. I'm interested in The Little Mermaid because it has always been one of my favorite movies. I love the casting.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts about The Little Mermaid movie after you have seen it. The trailers did not do her justice, Halle is even better in the movie. An absolute gem. She is absolutely perfect as Ariel.

The CGI is still yikes at some points. (though love Ursula's looks, great casting) But now that we get to finally see more I think that a lot of people will love it. Sure it will get a lot of criticism due to the special effects (and well Sebastian and Flounder, it takes a bit getting used to I guess?) but in the end I think it will once again enchant a lot of people. Halle looks wonderful as Ariel. I can't wait to see it in theaters.

The cgi is great for the budget

@@AtlCinderella80 I agree, we have to keep in mind that the movie was originally meant for streaming so it had a modest budget for CGI. And I think during the movie we won't even notice it as soon as it starts.

I grow up om the little mermaid. I love the TLM, when I saw the trailer at first I was like " idk about this" but after seeing it many times it looks amazing. what annoys me the most is people coming for the sea life not having humanoid faces. A crustacean with a humanoid face. A forty something year old Jamaican man's face would be terrifying to look at let alone have a conversation with. If y'all want sea life with humanoid faces go watch the cartoon, if you wanna see white Ariel go watch the cartoon and enjoy it still exist.

@@mscanela27 I think people who are going to this movie are going to love it. Young and old. When I saw the reactions from the little girls to the teaser I knew Disney found a perfect Ariel. It is going to be a huge hit and I am confident that people will be having a great time watching it 😃.

This is the measure of success and failure for this kind of movie. Not whether or not a bunch of old, white, racist men like it. They're not the target audience. They can call it whatever ignorant thing they want, but I doubt some guy over 40 is going to watch this movie anyway. Having watched a number of reactions to this trailer, probably the one I deem the most credible was one featuring a little black girl. "She looks like me, mommy." As long as the Genghis Khan movie exists, starring cowboy actor John Wayne, nobody with my melanin deficiency should be complaining about this.
Personally, I'd rather see roles like Ms. Marvel going to black and brown actors, because Iman Vellani put that character on the map in terms of live action. When I think of Ms. Marvel, I think of Iman, a Pakistani Muslim Canadian with a lot of personality. I'm hardly offended by a black fish girl and the actress seems great for the role and has a wonderful singing voice, but I just think that everyone should have their own heroes to look up to. Not because they can't have their own mermaids and everything, but because I think we all deserve something that is original. It's almost a slap in the face to people when they're just the remake to the original.
Hollywood already puts out way too many sequels and remakes. They don't need another excuse, like putting a black person into a role created by lame, white people. You have your own thing going on that is original and cool and deserves to be seen and enjoyed by everyone.
But am I angered or offended by this? Absolutely not. If it makes a little black girl in Chicago happy, fantastic. The movie wasn't made for me. And unlike some people, I'm okay with that. The only reason the original even remotely interested me was because I was a kid when it came out and it was a teenage girl in a bikini top. I had a huge crush on Ariel. I'd probably feel the same way about this young lady if it had come out at the right time. She's beautiful and has a great voice.

I'm a 41 year old man and I am definitely going to see this movie! I'm loving the trailer and Halle has convinced me that she is the perfect fit for Ariel. She totally embodies her personality, determination and wit and that is what an actress portraying her should be able to convey, the color of her skin shouldn't be the determinating factor at all. I may be in the minority of men in my age group who's actually excited about this movie but the original is a childhood favorite of mine and I've always wanted to see it being turned into live-action and I'm so happy we are seeing just that happen right now. I'll be raving about this movie for weeks (heck, even months) on end after having seen it in theaters, knowing myself right haha! :)
